aesthetic: "hidden in plain sight" this kendall location is. located in a plaza, but it's not at the same time. it's more in the back of the plaza in it own little section. realistically it's not inconvenient at all, however if you are lazy, it is inconvenient to park on the wrong side of the plaza & walk to the main entrance. once you walk in, (i came in around 2pm) it's lit by the natural light coming from the big wide windows. however once you sitting inside (i sat at the bar) it seems darker than usual & seems to fit the aesthetic of a low lit cabin - meaning it better to come at night if you're into the aesthetic experience.
customer service: i was first greeted well & informed about specials (when asked) quite nicely. the server/manager? even offered for me to try their classic wings with carmalized onions (more on how that tasted in the food section). however the person who i first encountered had to leave, hence the "server/manager" title i gave & had me be helped by another server. which was not as attentive as the first. as my 2nd server asked me for the wine of my choice & just said okay, then proceeded to pour without asking me the amount that i preferred which was 6oz, 9oz & the bottle. i only wanted to try what they have & would've have had the 6oz. as he poured there was no jigger & eye balled the entire pour. another behavior i noticed apart from my server was that the chef was sitting in the waiting area in public while there was no orders to be done. i believe there is a back of house lounge area, am i correct?
food: as for the complementary offer to try the wings with their caramalized onions - the wings itself was great & crispy but the onions were not caramalized. specifically they were sweated onions & i wouldn't even go as far a sautéed onions. because the caramelization of onions more often than not results in dark "caramel colored" sweet & savory onions that have gone to the process of caramelization of at least 18 hours or more. their pizza standard was for it to be "well done" so i cannot complain much, if not - at all about how it is cooked. however, flavor wise depending on the kind of pizza you got, it was pretty decent yet quite filling.
conclusion: if you want to get full from pizza & carb load. this is your place to be. if you're looking for quality & an enjoyable service & mouth feel/taste, feel free to explore other...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Anthonys coals pizza, and I must say that the bartender and manager there left an unforgettable impression on me. Their exceptional service and skills truly made my experience enjoyable.
The bartender, Christopher, displayed a remarkable combination of kindness and efficiency. They greeted me with a warm smile and genuine enthusiasm, making me feel welcome from the moment I stepped in. Not only were they personable, but their ability to quickly handle multiple orders with precision was truly impressive. No matter how busy the bar got, Christopher managed to serve everyone promptly without compromising on the quality of their craft.
Speaking of craft, Christopher is undoubtedly a master mixologist. The drinks they prepared were both creative and delicious. They showed an understanding of flavor profiles and effortlessly recommended cocktails that perfectly matched my preferences. It was evident that christopher took pride in their work, and every drink they made was a work of art.
On the managerial side, Mario deserves equal praise. Their presence was felt throughout the establishment, ensuring everything ran smoothly. They worked tirelessly to create a welcoming atmosphere, leading by example with their own kindness and professionalism. Mario demonstrated excellent leadership, and it was clear that the staff respected and admired them.
What impressed me the most was Mario's ability to maintain a harmonious balance between the bar and kitchen. The food served was delectable, and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of dishes available. It was evident that Mario worked closely with the kitchen staff to ensure the highest standards were met, and it definitely paid off.
In conclusion, my experience at Anthony’s coals pizza was outstanding, thanks in large part to the exceptional bartender and manager. Their kindness, speed, mixology skills, and dedication to their craft truly set them apart. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a top-notch dining and drinking experience.
Thank you to Christopher and Mario for making my visit so enjoyable, and I look forward to returning...
Read moreI’ve come to this place many times with my family in the past, but I won’t come back again.
Pizzas are great, if you want a great pizza, come to this place.
Their chicken wings have gotten worse and worse. Poorly cook, almost raw.
Service? Horrible
My family were having dinner today and there was someone cleaning some areas of the restaurant and making a horrible and annoying noise by moving the heavy chairs back and forth and he was very close to my table.
Clearly the guy didn’t care at all that there was a family trying to enjoy a nice family time together and here he is, the clever guy who wants to do things faster while customers are still eating , ruining their family time and trying to finish all clean up right when they close.
The noise was so bad that I had to get up and tell this person that either he stops making noises or I leave the restaurant immediately and talk to the manager. The person politely told me that he was the manager and stopped making noises. Good! And thanks!
But disappointed that a manager cannot even realize this by himself and is not able to appreciate this little details that can turn a great family dinner into a horrible and stressful moment.
The rest of the dinner was bad. Clearly the manager told the rest of the servers, my son was able to hear how they were talking about me. I was probably turned into the joke of the night.
My server brought me the check super early, didn’t even ask whether we wanted some desserts and we were planning to order some (and we did, of course). Clearly they were pushing me away from the restaurant.
And at some point, some brainless guy from the kitchen area went to the bar making some noise intentionally with some cooking utensils or similar while laughing.
I never felt so bad being in a restaurant. I will not come back to this...
