On September 2 around 4:15 my husband and I came in for some lunch immediately walking in the door we were not greeted by the hostess. She said with attitude 2. And we said yes 2 please we both looked at each other clueless like what was that about. She then seats us and then later brings out our drinks I told her thank you she gave me no response..and kind of tosses the straws which one fell on the floor as she was walking off. Me and my husband looked at each other again and was like OK. We were just glad that she wasn’t going to be our waitress. So when we received the neighborhood nachos that we ordered for an appetizer, there was literally three tablespoons of meat on the whole entire platter of nachos and not very much cheese either the meat was hard, crumbly, dry, and overcooked. Before eating it, we kindly explained to our waiter about the tiny portion size of meat on the nachos. She seemed as if she did didn’t know what to do so she grabbed her manager and he kind of seemed like he didn’t wanna be bothered and was looking to resolve the issue so he can go on about his business. So they brought us out extra taco meat, which was another small size and the meat was even more dry than previously so we didn’t indulge at all at this point I just said forget about it. I’m not gonna even mention it anymore. So when our orders came out, they gave me a tiny spoon of rice, less than half the portion that they gave my husband which we ordered the same dish by the way. I was not gonna even mention anything anymore because at this point I was kind of over everything then we decided we were just gonna take our food to go so my husband had not touched his meal yet so we asked for to go to containers and our waiter brought them out. My husband proceeded to put his food in the container and he noticed there was hair in his food so we had to address this with them and she brought it to the back and they brought us out a new receipt and gave him $10 off of something that he wasn’t going to even eat, we felt that was a lot of nerve. Neither one of us ate our food and we will not be going back here again. It was the lack of manners, the lack of care, the lack of professionalism and the lack of good food that we still ended up paying for regardless of the hair in his food and the bad nachos as well definitely will be going to other locations. Just not this one. This place literally left a bad taste in our mouths in it’s entirety. Really wish I could...
Read moreDear Lord where to even start! As I'm writing this I haven't gotten my meal yet as I'm contemplating leaving. Sunday night, 7:30 busy like a Saturday night. Not enough wait staff. So a bunch of empty tables and a half hour wait. Lady manager has no people skills whatsoever so no friendly greeting. Get sat and are given to go sets of plastic silverware as they have none available 😳. A restaurant with no silverware. Should've left at that point but we forge onward.....to me moving over in the booth and my hand sinks into something gooey.....and dark. Thank you Jesus it was chocolate but for a minute I was freaked. Wave over help and they gave me 1 napkin. 1 . And than she walked away. WHAT???? What universe am I in that the manager and /or wait staff comes to you when something has gone wrong and walks away without an apology or anything??? Call us crazy but we still haven't left. Now we go to order. My parents wanted to come for the 2 for $25 steak dinner.......which is actually 2 for $29.......to be told so sorry it will take a while because they are all frozen. Did they not plan on customers? So now my food has arrived but that was 5 minutes ago.....my poor parents are still waiting for their meals. I gotta say, unless you got time to kill and a good sense of humor ------ GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
James....I appreciate you reaching out to me. We went back last night (Sat the 9th) and we were seated immediately and helped quickly. We had a transfer from the SR 70 store that closed named Jose A. Thank heavens for transfers! He actually understands customer service. He was a joy. Also, again....no hi welcome to Applebee's when you come in. Just simply hi how many. In talking to Jose we told him about last Sunday and he said ohhhh, I heard about that. And proceeded to tell us that earlier that day 2 women came in and after a few minutes went to leave. He intercepted them and asked the reason. They answered no greeting when entering (see I'm not the only one) and none from waitress either. They were headed OUT! Jose says to them come with me and I'll take care of you. He seated them in his area, taking an extra table on. Still gave all great customer service and saved you a customer! He definitely deserves a shout out. A credit to the restaurant, not the manager who I think needs...
Read moreOne of my Mom's favorites, but not this day. After seated by a disinterested hostess on Sunday 10/7 @ 12:40, we were continually passed over by no less than four servers passing us multiple times. There were three parties on our half of the dining room when we sat. We watched three groups in the next 10+ minutes be sat and receive drinks (1 couple received food!). We thought that the tall, thin, huge-haired female server would help as soon she had a chance, (because she appeared to be having difficulty with the group in the next booth) but she walked past no less than three times without anything in her hands (and 5 or 6 times total). The last two times we had our light on calling for assistance - just so hard to believe she didn't see us. In my mind, she just didn't think we were her responsibility. My Mom, who is 87 and generally not aware or concerned with such things, was upset enough to want to leave one of her favorite places and even made sure that the hostess knew we were leaving because no one would pay us any attention for whatever reason. (You'll have to trust me when I say she said it without malice. We're talking the quintessential, coming from church, little-old-lady sweetness. My Mom, yes I'm biased, but you couldn't find anyone who would disagree.) I've spent too long in customer service to know that mistakes are made and circumstances are not always what they seem, particularly in the restaurant world, BUT I am taking my time to write this because I heard the very same hostess who seemed put out when we asked for one of the many open booths for my mother, make a cattish type comment to the group she went on to seat after listening to my mother tell her that she had been ignored. Where was the manager on duty? If one was present then they sure aren't respected by their staff. Unfortunately we will be back. Mom has a favorite server there that has Sundays off. Pretty sure we won't be...
