This has got to be one of the worst home decor stores in terms of inventory and wait times at register. The first is not the fault of this location - that's the companys fault, but the latter certainly is. The store is full of inventory almost nothing of what you want; much like cable tv having 500 channels and yet you not being able to find anything you want to watch. It's easy to find items online, but then they are either available in-store only, or this location only has 2, another has 1, and the other 2 locations in your area have none so it's impossible to get four, and if you want them shipped to you you're going to have to pay a seperate shipping fee from each store! It's whacko, but I think it's mostly just At Home (aka Garden Ridge) just trying to get visibility on Google search results. As long as there is 1 of anything they carry at some store within a 100 mile radius of where you are searching from, it's going to pop up in results. Not so handy when you're trying to buy 6 wine glasses (sold seperately). I made an 80 mile round trip down to this store just hoping their inventory was screwed up and I might find what I was looking for. Sadly it was correct, not a one. Since was already there, I had hoped the trip would not be a total loss. However, there was only, in this entire store one dinky little paperweight that I found interesting enough to purchase. A considerable portion of the store was plastic and resin (aka cheaply made) Halloween decorations with asking prices well beyond what anyone, except those with considerable money to burn, ought to be paying. Flimsy (and yes cheaply made) racks and plant stands had 89 dollar price tags, and resin (glorified plastic) gardening containers had similar shocking prices. It became laughable at some point. When I finally realized this place is mostly for the bored housewife out spending her husbands money, I finally headed to the register. There were 3 cashiers, yet the line that was naturally backed up around the other side, was moving at a snails pace. Eventually I decided to go on to dinner and come back just before the store closed to fetch the paperweight. So I did. This too did not work out. When I returned it was gone (I should have made some effort to hide it behind some candles or something but I did not). So I grabbed a smaller one and headed to the front. Of course now there was only 1 cashier, and 2 people ahead of me; but the first one had 2 carts filled to the rims, and the second had a full cart. Naturally the cashier assured us another cashier would be along shortly to help us (she did call in fact) this too never came to fruition. It was then that I realized this was a cosmic sign telling me At Home was just not working out for me; to walk out and cut my loses - and I listened to myself. I have absolutely nothing good to say about this place or the company in genereal, and I normally can find SOMETHING positive. Oh -the store was clean. I found a way to end on a...
Read moreI recently had a highly disappointing experience at At Home, and I feel compelled to share my frustration. From the moment my party and I walked through the door, it was abundantly clear that customer service was not a priority for the staff.
As soon as we entered, we were greeted with the news that the store would be closing in a mere 30 minutes. To say we were taken aback would be an understatement. It is one thing to be informed about closing time, but it is an entirely different matter to be greeted with a countdown upon arrival.
To make matters worse, we were immediately rushed through the store by the employees, as if they were in a race against time. It was evident that their sole focus was on closing up shop as quickly as possible, rather than providing a pleasant shopping experience. We felt like an inconvenience, and our presence was clearly unwelcome.
What baffled us the most was that it wasn't even closing time yet. We had arrived well within the store's posted hours, expecting to have ample time to browse and potentially make purchases. Instead, we were treated with impatience and an utter lack of respect.
The rushed atmosphere made it nearly impossible to explore the store properly. We were unable to leisurely peruse the merchandise, compare options, or ask any questions. It felt as though the staff had already mentally checked out, leaving us feeling frustrated and disregarded as customers.
As someone who values quality customer service, this experience was a letdown of monumental proportions. It is beyond disappointing to be met with such indifference and disregard, especially in a retail environment where customer satisfaction should be paramount.
I sincerely hope that At Home recognizes the importance of treating their customers with respect and learns from this incident. Nobody should be made to feel like an inconvenience, particularly when they are trying to support a business through their patronage.
In light of this experience, I cannot recommend At Home to others. Their lackluster customer service and rushed approach overshadow any potential positives the store may offer. I implore the management to address these issues promptly and ensure that future customers are treated with the dignity and courtesy...
Read moreI was excited to visit the new At Home store in my area. The store was a mess, I attributed that to holiday shopping and being a newer store and that maybe the layout wasn’t that well thought out, the aisles are too small for shopping carts to pass each other and many aisles have merchandise on shelves so high that you can’t even see all that they offer. They offer a huge selection of things but their pricing is either well priced or strangely high priced on items. I spent almost $600. this day but I won’t be going back. The most disappointing was customer service. I bought a dining table that was a floor model, it was their last one. No one at the store offered to order it and have it shipped to me or the store at discounted shipping, they did give 10% off of the floor model. At checkout I had brought a corner shower stand, there were 3 on the aisle with no tags, I brought a tag that was torn off laying on a shelf for spa stands of $34.99, they have their employees scrolling through hundreds of items online on smartphones for information or pricing, the managers were busy not answering, I said repeatedly to just use the tag I brought because we had so many issues at checkout that the line had tripled in size, a manager through the earpiece told her she was to charge for a similar stand online, the prices were anywhere from $25-$40, and she picked one at $40 because mine wasn’t there. I had her put it back at this point the experience wasn’t the best and I just wanted to be done. My cashier said they’d load wrap the table and load it in back. We pulled the truck out back they rolled the table out and were just going to throw it in the bed of the truck with nothing. The older gentleman explained very short and irritated we don’t have anything to do that, and our tables come boxed...the younger gentleman said would I like him to see if he can find some cardboard to put under it, he did and helped load it, he was probably the only small redemption of the store, I should’ve gotten his name, that and I like the table very much. No reason to go back. My advice...stick to Pier1, Tuesday Morning...Homegoods, unless you find something online and you need to make the trip to touch and...
