Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Florida

Oh my where to begin. First off we walk in and the hostess is flustered that we have 5 people coming in and looked bothered that we are there. It wasn’t even crowded. Get a booth thing in the bar area. Missing a seat and we gotta get our own seat then they just disappear for like 20 mins. No one got our drink order or anything. I had to like stare at waiters to get someone to come over. Finally we get service. The service continues to be awful. Again not packed, still Takes FOREVER for every thing. I see all the waiters just hanging out in one corner. Not doing anything. Like at least make a round every so often to see if anyone needs refills or something. At one point I waited another long time to get a refill and then when I get my refill there’s A GNAT IN MY DRINK. The waiter just seemed annoyed having to do her job. While it was not even busy. Then made some rude comments at one point. Like wtf. Why make it “all you can eat” then be all annoyed when people order more. Then just not check on the table and disappear for like 20mins at a time. Like it felt like forever then you see they are just hanging in the side and not even really helping anyone else. It’s Applebee’s not even busy like the old days. I didn’t want to eat here but my mom wanted to eat here. It was so much better back in the day. It has gone so far down hill. Also, my child got a kids meal and the tenders looked over cooked, he didn’t like them or eat them. Just everything was so awful. I pray I don’t get sick from it all. Video is the gnat in my drink. Worst $50 I ever spent.

Update: my stomach is super sick from the food.

Update 6/2. They did give me a gift card to try make things right. But still seeing recent bad reviews. so idk if they are correcting their...

Today July 27th, 2013/. Myself and elderly neighbor decided to go to Applebees Bryan Dairy Road @ Starkey Road, SEminole Florida. By the parking lot it was not busy./. Maybe a dozen cars.. At the most.

We went inside.. No one was at the meet / greet desk inside the door.

We stood there.. Looked around, Not busy at all.. Bar maid was waiting on a couple People. Another server.. Was walking around, Both looked up and saw us.. And kept Doing what ever. The one server female long brown pony tail.. My guess about 25 yr s old. Looked like she was placing something on tables.

We waited.. I read the menu.. We commented to each other what we may want to order.. And waited.. Still no one.

So..I saw 3 people walking in / around bar area. . No one come to us. It was obvious we had been standing There some time. They saw us, eye contact was made.

I walked over to an ad read it.. Walked back.. No one... More than 5 times the people working there made eye contact with us.. But no one made a move to at least Come over and say , someone will be with you ..

Finally , I said oh heck.. Lets go. We left.

We ended up going to Publix in the same shopping center.. And then went into Pinellas Park Fl.. About 10-15 miles away.. To Applebee's on Park Blvd @ US 19. ( 34 street n ) . We were immediately greeted, seated.. And our server came.. Great service there.. Our bill was approx $25.00 , each - we tipped $4.00

Thought You may want to know.. Because , I am not apt to go back to the Seminole/Largo store.. Even though it is Just 3 miles from my house. Also.. Men went in right after us.. They were greeted and seated right...

On October 15th at approximately 7 pm my family and I visited this location. My mother ordered a 6 oz sirloin, I ordered an 8 oz sirloin and my father ordered fish and chips.

I’ve eaten at steakhouses from Texas Roadhouse level to Michelin star level steak houses and almost all in between.

Both my mothers 6 oz and my 8 oz were cooked EXACTLY how we ordered them. She ordered a medium and I ordered my and I quote “rare rare”.

I’ve had to send steaks back at legitimate steakhouses for overcooking them. I am fully aware of the proper temperatures to cook and serve all meats. However, a steakhouse should be able to do rare to well done and everything in between.

Tonight I was so impressed by how perfect my steak was I told the manager here the guys in the kitchen who made it need a raise or a promotion.

You wouldn’t expect to get this level of quality in a steak at some place like Applebees, but this location delivered.

No steak sauce was necessary and the flavor was all the way through the steak.

If I was blindfolded and fed this steak and had to guess between several restaurants I would never have guessed Applebees.

10/10 I hope I get another one like this the next time I come. Whoever was on the grill and made my steak, start applying at steakhouses. They NEED you.

Fantastic service, fantastic food.

Our waitress Sheila was fantastic and our hostess Amelia was also wonderful!

My father loved his fish and chips, as well. The fish was crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside and his fries were perfect too.
