What a great little gem. We had heard from others that we should try it. Last minute change of plans and we got their last reservation. Our lucky night!
Arrived on time and checked in. A cute little chalkboard tent with our name and reservation time was on the table. Points for originality. Got seated right away and got a couple waters while we perused the wine list. Very impressive wine list, some excellent choices for sure. Placed our wine order and in just a few minutes it arrived, as did fresh bread and seasoned EVO. Perfect.
Our waiter, Cole, was a gem, what a great guy. Cole kept the flow of the dinner in constant harmony. We split the ravioli for an appetizer and got a soup as well. The ravioli were simply amazing. My wife enjoyed the soup. I'm not a big soup guy, so my opinion is irrelevant. We also got the deviled eggs. What a great presentation that was. On to the mains.
The wife got the chicken special that they had that night. She dutifully devoured it, of course, in a lady like manner. I got the pork medallions on a brown gravy with potatoes and roasted veggies. Big hopes for some leftovers, but that didn't happen. It was just too good and super tender.
Cole, the evil man, suggested a blueberry cobbler special they had for the evening. Of course it came with ice cream too. So much for the diet.
The only unfortunate part of the evening was a table next to us of middle aged women who might have had a glass to many of wine. Honestly, it was unfortunate but took nothing away from our meal or our experience.
Cole, our waiter was amazing and made our experience memorable. Thanks Cole.

Read moreTucked away in Publix Strip Mall, this place was recommended by a friend who lives close by. It's small and quiet, which leads to a nice place to have a conversation while dining, unlike so many places that blast loud music. Here, it's in the background. We decided to split everything in order to try a few items as we didn't want a heavy meal. We stated with an order of muscles in a white wine sauce. The muscles were nicely cooked, and the sauce complimented it well. We even asked for some extra bread to sop up the tasty liquid after the muscles were finished. The bread here is also excellent and highly recommended. We then went with one of the specials of the day, spaghetti with octopus and olives in a red sauce. The octopus was fresh and tender, cut into medallions with a few small arms as well. The red sauce was smooth and very well prepared. The real treat was the aldante thick spaghetti. It really was a nice surprise that most Florida restaurants can't seem to get quite right. The chef knows her stuff, and we were both pleasantly satisfied. We finished with a slice of their homemade tart (special of the day) that had peaches, apples, and blueberries. It was light and not too sweet with the right amount of tartness. It was served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. My wife ordered a capaccino, which was rich and satisfying. Overall, it was a great meal and a place we plan to come to with...
Read moreUpdate 2024: Bacco is still one of our all-time favorite restaurants. We can't recommend it enough!
The pistachio ravioli and spaghetti carbonara are my two favorite dishes. (Everyone who's ever tried the ravioli with us — it's usually my top recommendation when we bring guests — agrees that it's incredible.) The chocolate mousse is also amazing, and the rotating dessert (we've tried a pear lemon cake and apple plum cake) never disappoint.
We first found Bacco because we moved to Melbourne in 2021. It became our go-to special occasion spot: We ate there when I got a new job, when my now-husband got a raise, when we booked our wedding venue, for our anniversary... and though we've since moved away from the area, Bacco remains a must visit whenever we come back to Florida. (This winter we spent about two months in the state and dined there four times.)
Don't hesitate. Go, enjoy a bottle of wine, maybe try the mussels, have some incredible pasta, thank the staff for working so hard, and I'm guessing it'll become one of your favorite restaurants too.
