The Soup Shop- 4100 N. Wickham Rd, Melbourne, FL 32935
5- Stars
The random name generator checked in at The Soup Shop a few weeks ago. I silently pondered, “ugh…soup. Who in their right mind eats soup in 110-degree weather paired with humidity at 100%?” undeterred, I pressed the button again, and landed on an alternative. Fast forward to the present and the generator has again paused on The Soup Shop. This time, I opted not to test fate and decided to go. To say that I’m exceedingly happy with my choice would be a massive understatement.
Upon entering, I was greeted by the manager, whose name is Robin. In addition, there were several other employees, all of whom were friendly and kind. Indeed, the staff deserves a round of applause and is certainly worthy of a bravo.
My order: dragon stew, chicken dumplings, tuna salad, egg salad, chicken pot pie, and grilled cheese. I could certainly attempt to describe, elucidate, and expound on all the subtle details that make this cuisine fantastic but simply put, I suggest you go… NOW.
Before you arrive please consider that every single item is made with the highest quality ingredients and is also prepared with absolute attention to detail, expertly crafted and executed to present fare that bursts with loads of flavor. LOADS OF FLAVOR! Channeling my inner battologist, did I say loads of flavor? It’s also worth noting: The egg and tuna salad are both made to order.
Big Boy says, “Go…NOW. Stop reading, get in your car and go. 5 delicious and...

I'm a big fan of Panera Bread, so when I heard about The Soup Shop (a local business that, spoiler warning, deserves your repeat patronage), I knew I had a check it out.
No surprise: The Soup Shop takes soup very seriously. It comprises half of their menu and the variety is impressive. Everything from Tonkatsu Ramen to Chicken Enchilada (one of their most popular!).
I ordered their French Onion, which was heavenly. A part of me expected to still feel hungry (I mean, it's just a bowl of soup; how full can it get you?), but these soups come in ample servings. My French Onion was a deep-dish blend of savory bread and caramelized onion topped with a thick lid of blended cheese. De-li-cious!
Of course, The Soup Shop does more than just soup. They boast an impressive variety of sandwiches, including BLT, Chicken Salad, BBQ Brisket, Tuna Salad, and Grilled Cheese (the one I highly recommend--comes on Ciabatta Bread!). A selection of Lunch Specials combine soups/salads and sandwiches together at a discount price. They also serve bread bowls, pot pies, and pretzles.
To top everything off, be sure to grab one of their New York-imported cheesecakes (I chose Tiramisu). Soup, sandwich, and dessert--all in one!
I may be a Panera Bread fan, but next time I'm near the Soup Shop, that's exactly where I'll be going for lunch. I love the home-made/fresh-made taste, the cozy atmosphere, and the good feeling of supporting a local business. I highly...
Read moreJust a pure honest review.... I eat here often because they have good food for the most part... so why 3 stars? It’s more than good food... let me start... Value - out of control poor value. Homemade, ok, but I work in the business and the water broth based soups with limited protein isn’t that much. The staff - so hard to explain - not rude, but not nice... think about Blanch from the golden girls. For someone who is in there often, a good to see you back or something. Really missed opportunity here. They have plenty of staff too... causing the increased price I am guessing. The new bread 👎🏼 Not happy about that at all. They changed recently... I believe it’s because of cost but they say consistentcy... it was always the same from my perspective. Bread ratio is bad. Cracker hoarders - serious..your a soup place! Give us some crackers especially how much we pay. I ordeeed a small and a large soup... I get 2 small containers. Do you at least not get an extra one for the large... I’m sure they are thinking just ask... just make it right!!!! Jeeze
So good food: Best chicken salad you ever had Hearty Italian (awesome) Mushroom (fantastic) Cheeseburger soup (oddly delicious)
Food to skip: Chicken tortilla (day it’s their best - I don’t care for it) Broccoli Cheese (horrible - think they use that powder in Kraft...
