I took my son out for a lunch date on black Friday. The entire place was so nice inside. Bright red leather like booths with bright white tile walls. It felt like a modern Italian restaurant and even a little edgy. Personally, I felt with the combo of the atmosphere and the shirts the staff wore, that it would be awesome if they offered some craft beer on tap. But sadly, they didn't have that. Anyway, it didn't matter too much because I quickly got over it when our food arrived. We ordered the Garlic Knotts to start, and they had to be the best I've ever had. They were LOADED with garlic, butter, and parmasean shavings. They were cooked perfectly with soft centers. The red sauce that came with them was tangy and perfect, but the butter sauce with the fresh Parm was so good that maybe you didn't even need the red sauce. For lunch, I had the Fat Paulie, which breaded chicken cutlet. The cutlet was cooked perfectly, nice and thin, but the chicken was moist and not at all chewy. They dice up their tomatoes, which I loved! They use thick cut slices of fresh mozzarella and fresh basil, and they drizzle all of it in a delicious vinaigrette. Everything about this sandwich from its presentation on the plate to all of the outstanding Italian flavors... I highly recommend it! One last comment to the two ladies who tended to our table during our visit. You were awesome and kind, and we really appreciated your service. Thank you! We will be back again...
Read moreUpdate: 6/24/23. Picked up a Detroit pan today. I'm going to stick with the 2 stars, and I'll include a couple of pictures. The Detroit is a couple bux more than the New York so I figured there may be more to it. Essentially, it's a 1" crust with a very thin layer of cheese, and then lots of sauce. When you open it, it almost looks like a stuffed pizza. But you know immediately that's not the case as soon as you cut into it. When I've eaten at Pequod's Pizza in Chicago, I love the caramelized crust so was happy to see that on the Detroit. I'm not sure what the difference is between Pequod's and Bronx, but I didn't much care for the caramelized crust at Bronx. So two stars really for both visits to Bronx House.
Service was fine, atmosphere was fine...it's just a small place, appears to be mostly carry out pizzas. I ordered the chicken Parm for carry out. Was kind of surprised that for $19.25 there was no bread and butter included, but ok. The reason for my rating is I just didn't feel the food was. All that good. I've had excellent chicken Parm from other places and this one was not close. It had plenty of mozz cheese, so I guess maybe a plumper juicer piece of chicken breast and a better tasting sauce....which ink w is not very specific. I think it's good the owners always ask for feedback here, but I don't have any further input because other than the thoughts above, I really have no idea...
Read moreThe garlic knots were very good a lot of bread juice at the bottom. The mozzarella sticks were also good, great cheese pull and yummy marinara sauce. Pizza was very yummy, the pepperonis are cooked perfectly and the cheese is hot but not too hot to where it falls off the pizza. I wish my brother didn’t sit next to me because he doesn’t know how to stay still and also eats like an animal. I like how there is different seasonings you can put on your pizzas. I tried my sister’s baked ziti and it was also good but I could only have one bite before she ate it like she has never eaten before and slobbered all over it. The waitress forgot about the baked ziti for a little bit but i didn’t mind because it wasn’t mine and I lowkey forgot about it too. The waitress was very nice and good at her job tbh. She’s good at talking, I wish I was good at talking. She was also good about getting the plates that we weren’t using anymore. I’m sorry if my family was loud, that is their normal inside voice. Also we were all in pajamas because today was pajama day at school. The overall review for this restaurant is 5 stars I would...
