I'm a foodie. This week we're Foodies on vacation. We seek out local places. When it comes to food Pensacola Beach has some great choices. We picked this place for our first late breakfast on day one. Cozy place with a top tier chef and an operational model you'll admire. They have a robust menu with choices ranging from standard breakfast fare to higher end brunch items and other things. Check out the desserts under glass. Order breakfast and it is unlikely that you'll have room for dessert. The cappuccino is piping hot. If you want to spend an hour or more for breakfast then this isn't the place for you. You'll need a moment to take a careful review of their full menu. Ordering at the counter means that you're cutting a lot of time and the usual table service dance at most breakfast restaurants. For soft drinks and water you serve yourself and of course you can have refills. My classic eggs Benedict was perfectly prepared and the hash browns were better than average. And the crispy bacon was exactly how I must have it.
Wifey ordered a simple egg and cheese omelet. If you're a Foodie you know this dish is often the first test for wanna-be chefs-in-training. Again, this simple dish in this place is on par with a Michelin-level restaurant. Young son, 13, was overwhelmed by chocolate pancakes simply due to the size and the way it was plated. Not surprising that it looked better than any picture a mind can imagine. Eldest son's Nutella French toast is worth starting a revolution over.
The couple next to us had a plate of beautiful shrimp and grits ... I couldn't stop looking at.
When you complete your order they give you a number for your table but won't need it. The attentive staff demonstrates the kind of flowing teamwork that confirms they care about you. They know you and they know your order. Meals come quick and everything you need is on the table.
Pay attention when you look around the place. They care. Plenty of options and arguably the most efficient way you can get an expert chef level meal in short order.
If you're not familiar with the area feel free to ask as the staff are local experts. When I find a breakfast place that makes me feel like I matter and they serve me great food I go back to confirm excellence. š š½ šš„š„š
On our next visit I'll beg and buy a mug to add to our kitchen.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust visited this morning. Wasnāt too crowded, about half full but service was horrible for being half full. First issue: no kids menu. I asked for a kids menu and waitress said they donāt have one. So they had to get a full sized meal or share from the adults. 2nd issue: the black coffee was terrible, like worst Iāve ever had. I asked for a mocha Frappuccino (on the menu) and she came back and said they couldnāt do that but maybe Iād like an iced mocha coffee, so I said sure. Wasnāt the worst, definitely not great. Third issue: it took forever. We ordered a cheese omelet, regular pancakes, and chocolate chip pancakes. Not much, just 3 orders. But about 15 minutes after we had ordered (not sat - but ordered our food) a large group of 7 came in and sat down. After about 20 minutes or so, they were bringing out their food and yet we were still waiting on ours. I asked our waitress where our food was when that large group got their food that came in well after us and she said uh, Iāll go check. 5 minutes past, nothing. I look back and she is at the kiosk thing typing something in (I hoped it wasnāt our orderā¦) I asked another waitress walking by to speak to the manager and it took several minutes for the manger to come out. I told her that that large group had gotten their order and we still havenāt recieved ours and weāve been waiting for close to an hour. She said that it was our waitresses 2nd day and that it was actually most of the waitresses 2nd-3rd day. So I said well we donāt not want to wait any longer if we could just pay for our drinks and leave. She said donāt worry about the drinks and apologized for the wait. I do not recommend Cafe Bistro. Go to Native for breakfast, great service and great food!(it was actually our waitresses first day there and she was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food was good. But the kitchen staff (also the ones that bring you your order) are rude⦠I hate complaining especially when it comes to restaurants because I know what itās like but I ordered 2 orders of the chocolate chip pancakes, didnāt realize until our food came out & my son sat there with no plate looking around for a couple minutes that the cashier didnāt hear me say ā2ā.. when the lady from the kitchen was done giving the table next to me their food I said āmaāam, I ordered 2 orders of chocolate chip pancakesā she didnāt say a word, she just walked back to the kitchen & came back out with the ticket & set it on my table & said āthere was only one.ā & just walked away. Not once did she smile the whole time we were there, she looked straight up miserable. Which I get it, it was busy butā¦. It would have been a lot better if they had a couple waitresses. It would help the place not be so crowded, you can hardly even go make your drink because you have to get in line to order & the line is right next to peoples tables who are eating. the food was great though & the cashier was nice, but also very pricey! For 3 plates of breakfast, 2 cups of coffee & 3 fountain drinks was $70. I also tipped about 22%, had I seen what the service was like before paying, I probably would have tipped a little less. But you pay & tip before you receive your...
