I have come here numerous times. I used to enjoy it; there are moments where they get swamped and crowded. I've experienced all of their volumes in terms of customers. I was initially and continuously happy to find a place that promotes vegan options, and they prepare the food in front of you. They offer a salad bar, which I love. Although with the food prepared in front of you that's where I have chosen not to go here again.
I was there on a hectic evening. I must have waited 45 minutes, but that was not my issue. I would think being a kosher restaurant would be more mindful of how they prepare/handle food. Although it is not a Jewish dietary law, they often use the same tongs to pick up meat and then put them back into the vegetables and pick up vegetables. They really should use dedicated tongs or a dedicated station for vegetables only, especially since they use the word vegan on their menu. Why would you want to bring in a vegan customer base and contradict yourself?
If you don't follow a plant-based or vegan lifestyle, then it's a good place to eat. I hope they eventually clean up their food handling process. It's careless and sloppy. I had seen it before but asked them to use the other station and thought nothing of it, but seeing now how things were just mixed without thought turned me off. It's a shame because it's a good deal for the food you get, and the location is relatively close to my work, so I would go after a hard day. Please remove your promoting vegan OR just modify your standards to meet them, please!
P.S. update: I've been back several times, and they still use the same tongs for meat and touching veggies. However, if you ask them, they will get new tongs to pick up the food, which is great, but if you are vegan, not great. It's not hard to just keep one side strict vegan, don't touch with cookware used for meat, and use the other side...
Read moreHad the most delicious chicken pita wrap here and will definitely be back to try the rest of their menu. The owner was so courteous and the rest of the staff was a pleasure as well. Felt like we were eating in a close friend’s kitchen!
They serve complementary side dishes & sauces with their meals — we tried the coleslaw and pickled carrots which were delicious.
The owner gave us some falafel to try on the house, and that’s what really set apart this business for us! A little hospitality goes a long way.
Don’t even get me started on that hummus..! You can tell it’s fresh and made in house. Super creamy and flavourful. If they sold it by the jar I’d be one happy gal. Chicken was extremely juice, but not overly greasy which is a difficult balance to strike. All the vegetables looked and tasted very fresh. I really respect when a restaurant uses only the best quality ingredients.
Worth the 30 minute drive, especially since there’s no authentic pita restaurants elsewhere in our area.
I rarely write reviews, but this restaurant stood out in many ways.
We’ll have to give a go at the shawarma, french fries, and...
Read moreI’m so happy I decided not to go to one of the restaurants nearby. For some reason, my GPS wasn’t finding Chill & Grill…but luckily I was craving a gyro so bad, I went around the shopping center and found it!
This was my first time here, and I’m not from the area. As soon as I walked in, I was cheerfully greeted by a guy who I found out after talking is an owner. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so welcomed into a restaurant as much as I did this day.
He offered me some of their complimentary sides. (Yes, FREE-and they were all absolutely delicious.) I ordered the steak gyro. I was so overwhelmed with all the toppings. He guided me, and asked all the right questions so that I would be happy with my meal. The pictures don’t do this gyro any justice. I’ve had many amazing gyros, but this one was A++!
With their wonderful customer service and delicious food, I 10/10 recommend this place...
