Chris' Taverna — Restaurant in Florida

I have always liked this place for the food. But last night the service was terrible. We were a party of 4 and got there early. Once we finished eating it was clear that the wait staff wanted to turn our table over to another party even though we’d only been there for like an hour. They brought us the check without us asking and after we payed and they saw that we weren’t ready to leave yet, 2 waiters, one after the other, came to ask us how much longer we going to sit there because they needed the table to sit another party that was waiting. We told them we’d like 5 more minutes to finish our conversation. They came back after a few minutes to take one of the empty chairs away and a smaller table that we were using and told us again that this other party was waiting. At that point we felt like we were very rudely being kicked out. So we had to wrap up our dinner early and leave. I understand that the place was busy and they had a line of people waiting. But restaurants deal with this all the time. The place is big and has a large outside and indoor area. I’m not sure why the wait staff were so insistent that this party have the exact table that we were sitting at. Maybe the party waiting wanted our table because they wanted to sit outside. But you don’t just basically kick out one table that is clearly not ready to go yet to sit another. You figure something else out for the party that’s waiting. It’s not like we were hogging the table for 3 hours. We were there for an hour before the waitstaff started rushing us out. It was really rude and basically ruined our dinner out with friends. If we had wanted to go to a fast food place we would’ve gone to one. But we chose Chris Taverna because we wanted a nice dinner out with friends. Next time, I’ll suggest we go...

Went there for a Saturday lunch, got sat for a table for 2 within minutes of getting there although the place was packed solid indoors and at the outside tables including a birthday party for over 50 people! We took our time choosing from a well-rounded menu, the wait staff were very professional and the timing was excellent between placing the order for our food and receiving our order as per our expectations with no mistakes, even though one of the orders was modified to include something that wasn't part of the order! Additional pluses... Although pricey ( $$$$) we enjoyed perfectly prepared servings of super large portions, enough to satisfy a hungry appetite with leftovers to spare. Tables were very close together from other patrons that seemed intimidating at the start yet when you first got sat, the atmosphere was surprisingly instantly made comfortable with the nearby customers enjoying their food and minding to themselves. We took our time enjoying our meal and we never felt rushed even after we finished and had to wait for a heavy downpour of rain that took about a half an hour to clear up. The food tasted excellent, the temperature inside the restaurant was not too hot or cold from the A/C, the atmosphere was welcoming and inviting with a well-trained polite staff of servers, made my first experience at sitting down to eat at this restaurant instead of ordering takeout - a perfect choice to a start of a nice...

Great Greek restaurant. No matter what one orders you will be very happy I love their Greek salad with olives 🌶 peppers stuffed peppers grape leaves and the usual green salad stuff since I am on a low-sodium diet, I did not ask for anchovies I had the beef and lamb gyro dinner which was fantastic and enough for two people ( I will go to sleep tonight dreaming about the gyro and egg omelet for breakfast My fiancé's dad is a fish 🐠 special and she loved it. My twelve-year-old niece had the chicken wings and french fries which brought a large happy smile the meal with a Greek beer a house white wine and a Coke with a 20 % tip came to a Large $66 bucks. Cheaper than fast food and slow great Greek food They have a special three day a week that we love and always orders Mother’s Special dish there is plenty of outdoor tables. We returned to celebrate our son 65 birthday 🎂 yesterday and they were so excited about it we had the best Greek salad followed up with the nonnas special which is only served two days a week luck for the three of us it was served on Saturday, my fiance had the baked white 🐟 with a glass of white wine I stuck to imported Greek beer v We brought a birthday cake and it was a great day...
