Where do I begin? I am always sad to leave poor reviews but Enzo left me feeling disappointed and regretful for choosing this place as our date night out. I made a reservation online through Google and upon entry told the woman we had a reservation. She proceeded to tell me that she didn’t have me on the list, so I pulled up my phone to show her the reservation. She seemed annoyed and not willing to help (although there were two open tables). A two top located near the door was available so she said we could sit there. It was almost as if she would rather us leave than to help us solve the problem and squeeze us in. It’s not our fault Google or their system didn’t sync. We finally ordered drinks only to be waiting for what seemed to be at least 20 minutes. It was nearly impossible to get the server’s attention as he was clearly working the entire restaurant (with the help from thewoman I presumed to be the owner who was not friendly to us). We ordered a $19 Cesar salad. I have no problem spending $ on delicious food- but this salad was the most underwhelming “Newman’s own” dressing Cesar I’ve ever had. I make an amazing Cesar dressing from scratch and this was clearly over priced AND had packaged dressing. Also, the “croutons” if they could be called that was just fresh chopped bread (the same table bread we had at the beginning of the meal) and it wasn’t even crunchy. Literally fresh and probably just chopped and haphazardly thrown onto the salad. My husband and I then had the chicken Marsala which was essentially chicken in a Marsala soup. It was so watery and just not what a Marsala should be. The flavor was good, but the consistency threw everything off. The chicken parm was just ok. Nothing great, nothing bad. There was also NO music in the restaurant and the vibe was overall lacking and just fell flat. I’m not expecting it to be a fancy NY spot, but something just wasn’t jiving here. Also, there was a 3% credit card fee added onto the bill. Which we found odd. Overall, the very unfriendly (I think owner lady) just made me never want to go back. What she SHOULD have done was apologize that Google didn’t book our reso or that she missed it (bc I had proof of it) seat us at the 2 top immediately and give us a glass of wine or something on the house. This would have cost them a few bucks and would have changed the bitter taste that put us in the downward spiral. Save your money and go to another more date worthy place. Read moreI am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent dining experience at this establishment. My husband and I specifically requested a hot and bubbly lasagna.
Prior to receiving our food, the chef approached us to explain their policy of not serving lasagna above 145 degrees Fahrenheit and insisted that exceeding this temperature would burn the bottom.
While we appreciate food safety concerns, we clearly emphasized our preference for a hotter dish, and the chef assured us the lasagna would be hot throughout.
Unfortunately, the lasagna arrived warm. While we understand their concerns, as paying customers, we believe we should have some control over how our food is prepared, within reasonable safety limits.
Further detracting from the experience was the chef's return to our table with a thermometer to prove the temperature. This felt confrontational and unnecessary, especially considering our clear request and desire to simply finish our meal.
If the restaurant has a strict policy of serving dishes at specific temperatures with limited customer input, this should be clearly communicated on the menu or by the waitstaff beforehand. Serving food solely at the chef's preference, regardless of customer requests, is...
Read moreThe place seems really authentic, I ordered a seafood pasta and asked the waitress to please add pink sauce to my seafood pasta. The girl came back and with a look of shock said the chef said "he refused" to serve me that sauce on my seafood pasta. That struck me the wrong way, so I asked her for a menu. Then a lady which I heard say she didn’t work there, but was helping out because they were short handed. The person came to the table and said to me the owner/chef was from Italy and he wont make me that dish, because if I didn't like it I would asked for the dish to be comped. I was shocked !! I tried to explain that I never mentioned asking for anything to be comped. I know what I wanted to eat and it was simple to add the sauce to the pasta. The demeanor in which the lady communicated the words "he refuses" just didn't sit well. The place not full at all, very small and the chairs are not all that comfortable. I was so bothered and disappointed that requested the bill for the bottle of water we ordered, paid $5.00 for the water and walked out. I felt bad for the waitress, so I left her another $5.00 THIS ESTABLISHMENT WAS NOT FOR ME !!
Jumped across the street to the Big Cheese and had may seafood pasta with...
