We decided to try out Hammerhead's for dinner during our fall break trip. We had a group of 7 (4 adults and 3 kids - 16, 13 and 11). We are all about trying a different place for every meal. We had ordered a couple appetizers to start (fried pickles, Boom Boom Shrimp and Gator Nest). The pickles didn't have much of a breading like usual fried pickles, the Boom Boom Shrimp seemed to be a little overcooked and the Gator nest was so-so. For our main meals, we had ordered Mahi Mahi (could have used more seasoning), 3 Bacon Cheeseburgers (super overcooked and not seasoned), Shrimp basket (seasoning), fried fish basket (seasoning) and the fried fish tacos (needed everything). I personally ordered the tacos. I am all about seafood tacos and trying them everywhere I go and/or can get them. These were the worst tacos I have ever had. The tortillas tasted as if thry were store bought and coated in flour (my fingers came back covered). There was no seasoning in the breading, the sauce that was used was disgusting and if thr loads of tomatoes they added was considered Pico, they need to add more than just tomatoes. The Pepsi was terribly flat and the sweet tea was overly sweet. The atmosphere wasn't all that great either. Thr lighting was terrible, there was no background music and the seating was very scrunched per table (we had to remove chairs just to be able to stretch out). For our family of 4, our bill was $108, NOT a meal worth that. The other family (3 people) had a bill of $110. It was a difficult pill to swallow. We would not recommend spending the money to eat here. If you want some good seafood, try another restaurant at the Wharf.

Aug 12, 2022! 2 stars because the manager and waitress were really nice and did help with the issues, however the menu had minimal options and was extremely overpriced. That being said I don’t mind paying a premium if the food is great but There were 5 of us and we have all had better food at McDonald’s and I don’t like McDonalds. We ordered the shrimp queso and there was not one piece of shrimp in it. Then as our meal we ordered the Crab and Shrimp boil for $58.99. 2 crab clusters and 1 lb of peel and eat hot. They brought us plastic forks, No plate or bucket for the trash and no cracker or ripper and when I asked they brought 1 small cracker that didn’t work. The shrimp was so over boiled it was the consistency of oatmeal and was horrible. There was no flavor at all. They took the crab shrimp boil off the bill but Then when we got the bill there was a 15% gratuity, 2% service charge and then the tax. And instead of removing and voiding the dish we didn’t eat they put it as a discount so the system charged all those fees and taxes on what the bill would have been at $124.00 and not what the bill actually was $66 before taxes and gratuity (that was for 1 queso, 1 burger w fries, a cup of gumbo and a mahi mahi sandwich 3 pepsis). After fees and taxes $91.87. All around bad experience and very low class setting with plastic ware and all the tables so close together you make new friends with everyone around you. Attached photo of receipt for proof.

We went & they sat us, making it seem like it would be a sit down restaurant— however, as soon as we were seated, the workers that were around our table scurried into the back. They make it seem like it is a sit down restaurant with servers but that’s NOT the case. We had one menu to look at between our group & had to order online. It would be very inconvenient for people who are not good with technology— especially because a lot of people retire here. We, who had two 21 year olds and 2 other people also in their 20s in our group, plus other tech savvy members, it was still difficult to do. Much less, the online menu was different from the one on the table & you weren’t allowed to make ANY comments or any customizations of the food options (very concerning for allergies). After they brought our drinks out to our table and set them down, missing one, someone later on came to ask if we were doing good. We said we were missing a drink and it took them at least 10 minutes to bring it out, which made us feel ignored and that the slight service they had was poor quality. The boss or owner (I’m assuming) walked around and asked how we were doing and offered to take the beer off, which was kind and the right thing to do. The food did come out in a fair amount of time and we did like the food overall, but was a bit over priced. Then on top, the bill had an automatic service fee of 15% in fine print (which most people don’t read) and then automatically had selected the option for 20% tip on top of the service fee in which you have to go out of your way to change. They were upfront when we asked them about the service fee and tip, but it was very misleading and most people wouldn’t ask. I’m giving a 2 star because the food was decent (not the best in Bay Town) and the lady did offer to take off the drink after seeing we were slightly upset that they...

Worst dining experience we have had in all of Destin and Sandestin. First off you do not have a real server situation. You have to order the food yourself from your phone. We ordered our first drinks they came out fine. The appetizer came out in a timely manor. Then we ordered our food and my husband ordered a beer at the same time. We waited a good bit for the food to come out. The Mahi Sandwich was as dry as the Sahara Desert. The beer never came. We waited ans waited for someone to come check on the table. No one came. We had to ask the lady that was taking pictures to go ask for our server. She finally came. We told her and she was gone more than 15 mins and brought multiple drinks to the table 2 over from us. We had to flag another server down and at that time we were finished with the amount of food we could eat without choking to death from lack of something to drink. She brought us the drink and after my husband was almost done with it the original server came to "check on us". What a joke. Before we left I went to the restroom and our magical disappearing server was sitting back there kiki-ing it up with her fellow coworkers. Worst part is there is a mandatory 15% gratuity. I am normally a 20% or more tipper being a former server myself, however, it's pretty disgusting to go without something to drink for more than 1/2 of your meal and then see someone who is supposed to be working sitting around on the clock neglecting all the tables. The best part of the experience was the music and the walk down the marina when we could get...
