Outstanding!!!! All I have to say is if it’s your first time having Kolache I feel bad for you because you will never ever have it like this again. All Kolache from here forward will be mid at best and probably sub par. Thank god my experience didn’t start here but I am so sad because I’m traveling and I don’t live here. Then again it’s probably for the best I don’t live here because this would be my breakfast every single day.
I’m truck driver and I always like to try local things but being in a truck means I have to door dash or Uber. This morning Kolache Bar was the only thing open that sounded good (thank god for that) and it was stupendous!!
I ordered 5 and I recommend every single one!
Bomber Bacon eggs & cheese Ham & Swiss Sausage & cheese (like a delicious hot dog) 5.scalloped potato
Also, they called and said someone had come in and wiped them out of ham and cheese ones and to ask me if I wanted something else or a croissant of the same thing. They were soooooo apologetic About it. I just said croissant would be fine.
Then upon receiving order there was a ham and cheese one in there after all! PLUS they included a little bag of donut holes and a blueberry cake donut! I guess for the confusion. It was a very nice classy touch and those donuts are amazing!!
Lemme Tell youuuuu
Fluffy isn’t even cutting it. Savory stuffed clouds! The sausage gravy bomber was INSANE. For real definitely get that. This was no sawmill gravy from Cracker Barrel. I don’t even like sausage gravy this was out of this world
Just go! Get all of them! I hope my job brings me back here so I can...
Read moreThe 5 star reviews aren't lying. Saw this place online and couldn't resist trying it out - who can resist fresh pastries? Result: couldn't be happier. Split a whole bunch of flavors among several people - both savory kolaches as well as donuts. Everything was absolutely delicious. Didn't try one that wasn't very tasty. The crowd favorite was the bomber (sausage, gravy, bacon, jalapeno), but only by a little. Jalapeno popper (cream cheese, jalapeno and smoked bacon) was an unexpected delight. It was exceptional how much difference there was between the flavors, yet each was still great in its own way.
The bread is extremely light and moist, with a hint of sweetness that pairs well with the fillings. This carried through to the donuts - all the yeast donuts were extremely light and airy. Cinnamon twist was the favorite here, but again only by a little. Blueberry cake and apple fritters were also good - again, no bad choices.
The proprietor is extremely friendly and obviously a talented baker - he threw in an extra of something we hadn't picked just because we were new and he said we should try it. He was also continuing to bake as we tried our food and realized we'd definitely need a second round - so they aren't all cooked early morning but spreads out the bake so they are fresher for the customers.
I can't decide if I should be angry I don't live closer or glad that I won't be spending all my money and belt holes on pastry. Either way, if you are in the area, you owe it to yourselves to see what the...
Read moreOk, so, my good friend sent me a link to this pastry shop at 9am today. She already had me with doughnuts, but when I saw 5 star rating on Yelp, I had to go! So we did— a few hours later! Aside from the doughnuts, Kolache Bar serves (you guessed it) kolache. A bun made of sweet bread and filled with sweet or savory fillings. First of all, soft, fluffy bread is my kryptonite. Maybe because I grew up on Wonderbread. Remember how you would roll them up into a doughy ball? Anyway, my first bite of the kolache, let me tell you, brought a sweet symphony throughout my body! The bread is so light, fluffy, soft, with a hint of sweetness. You pair that with the savoriness of the filling (we tried the bomber, the chicken enchilada, the Italian chicken , and the chorizo and egg) and my tastes buds were singing that Usher song, “Yah”! Each had a deliciousness of its own, but my favorite if I had to choose, were The Bomber and chorizo and egg. As for the doughnuts and the fruit filled kolache, H-E-A-V-E-N! Freshly made by the owners who are a husband and wife team from Texas (considered the kolache capital, apparently). They are so friendly and welcoming. Their bakery is clean, well lit, modest, located in a strip mall on Merrit Island. Two sets of tables and chairs. My friend and I dined in, but I noticed most their customers ordered to go, which we did before we left. The food speaks for itself! I highly recommend this gem! It’s a 26 min from me, but so...
