Nauti Parrot Tiki Hut North — Restaurant in North Fort Myers

You know the other night myself and a friend stopped by the Nauti Parrot for some food and drinks.. (like we always do.) Our experienced has always been great from "most" of the staff of this establishment. And as a sign of my appreciation I tend to tip far more than 20%. ( then again it could be the shots of Jameson that fuel my sign of appreciation LOL ) at the end of the day I enjoy a room temperature glass of Guinness followed by a shot of Jameson and a La Gloria Cubana cigar.. ( like I always do at the Nauti Parrot.) Except this time I was told that I could not smoke my cigar by the manager. He also told me that I needed to step of the Tiki Bar enjoy my cigar.. but it was okay for the party I was with and every other person in this establishment to smoke cigarettes. It didn't seem quite fair to myself nor to the party I was with. Maybe it was because he was an Anglo-Saxon male, and I happen to be an African American male. In fact I was the only African-American in this establishment. (And I think I have an idea why that is.) (And why I don't see the young manager there on Motown night)

I brought my concerns up to the manager. I even offered him my beer that I didn't want to stay and finish. He just laughed in my face. Racism is a joke but it's just not a funny one.. Fort Myers the sixth fastest growing city in the United States. Which means this City is evolving.. Just not the Nauti Parrot..

So my friend and I went to the bar "Cactus Jack's" which is next door to the Nauti parrot. Same setup , but over there I was allowed to consume my cigar in the the presence of those that consumed cigarettes, Without one complaint from management ! (I will be returning to Cactus Jack's)🤗

Now I'm not saying that the Nauti parrot is not a good establishment. It's just not an establishment I would recommend people of color to spend their time or their hard...

Nauti Parrot Tiki Hut 1-18-25 Took some friends here for some great vibes and food on Saturday Afternoon about 4 pm. This place is in what’s called Marinatown N Ft. Myers. The waterfront Tiki Bar area was packed. Inside just a few tables were occupied. Love the Tiki Bar area and that’s where most people sit. There is a boardwalk in front of the Tiki Bar area. I believe this place allows smoking in the Tiki Bar and Boardwalk area. The waitress came over fast to take our drink orders. Once back she took our food orders which I ordered the Catch of The Day Blacken Fish Sandwich with Fries. My wife ordered the same thing. Our friends ordered the BLT, Grouper Bites & Shrimp. While we waited for our food the Singer kept us occupied as the she was very talented. The Singer could have been at a lower volume so we could at least talk to each other at our tables. Our food came out fast as packed as they were. All food was hot and looked great. Our Fish Sandwiches were huge and very good, the Fries were fantastic. The BLT had plenty of Bacon and was good. The Grouper Bites were tasty as was the Shrimp. Our waitress checked on us a bunch of times and asked if we needed anything. They do have some Arcade Machines inside if you’re into that kind of thing. Also, they have a live Blue Macaw Parrot inside the front door. They put him outside in his waterfront cage on warm sunny days. Love this guy as he’s always talking or squawking about something. This place has such a great vibe you can’t go wrong, plus the food is very good and the live entertainment is great. I give this place 4 out of 5 stars. I'm irritated. The first time we ate here the food was terrible .. but they were busy and we figured, maybe it was a bad day. Today we rode our bikes up to Marina Town for lunch..we were early and decided to wait until they opened. We figured we could park the bikes and have lunch where we could keep an eye on them. The place was completely empty. We walked in and the manager shooed us away from a 6 top..that's fine, I am big guy and could use the extra space, but whatever... He debated moving tables around for a second and said..no I cant do that..we sat at the bar top seating facing the water and our bikes..seconds later a 6 top also said they'd like to sit at the bar top seating facing the water and the clueless manager suggests they take that 6 top literally on top of us.. I said..you have tables everywhere....whyyyy? My wife says..look we were here first, we just locked up our bikes here out of the way, can you seat them elsewhere?" waitress replies.." that's where they want to sit"..she seemed slightly embarrassed her manager sat things that way..but not really. We couldn't move around them, their balloons and birthday presents were everywhere so we left. The whole patio was wide open...large tables everywhere, he could have put 2 together...How is this manager running a restaurant? This...
