I've eaten at O'Briens on 3 separate occasions. The food was fantastic each time! So naturally I was a little concerned when I read some less than stellar reviews.
O'Briens just started a Sunday Brunch buffet. When I heard there was Prime Rib along with other goodies I couldn't wait to try it. Let's see how it goes.
I was accompanied by my Fab O'Babe, her Supreme Hottiness, plus another fun couple. When the four of us get together it's usually in New Orleans, where great food and partying go well together. I told them to trust me, that they'd like the food at O'Briens and the trip was a whole lot easier!
We were seated immediately, but jumped right back up, plates in hand and hit the O'Buffet Bar! We instantly spotted perfectly cooked Med Rare slices of succulent looking Prime Rib. Sparks were almost flying as we tonged tons of tender beef onto our tableware!
Another favorite was calling our names..Corned Beef Hash. Plenty of it, ready to leap onto our plates. So far so goooooood!
Then there were whole hog sausages, scrambled eggs, apple wood smoked bacon!, biscuits & gravy, chicken & biscuits, shrimp cocktails, hash browns, potato pancakes, fresh fruit!!!!
And to round this meal out to a loving end, several decadent looking desserts...
ALL of THIS for just $12.99!!!!!!! WHAT????????? (We were being good, but you can have all this plus bottomless Mimosas, Bloody Marys or Screwdrivers for $24.99)
O'Briens put the O'Boy and O'YESSSS into our Sunday fun day! We had a blast laughing, smiling and doing that mumble chewy thing while eating delicious food but still trying to communicate with each other thing.
In fact, the genius behind all of this bodacious bounty is Chef Josh. This guy is rocking the culinary world as we can now attest. We got to meet him and greet him. Nice guy with a fiery passion for creating kitchen masterpieces. He found out I LOVE Beer Cheese Soup and sent out a sample of his handiwork. BEST Beer Cheese Soup I've ever experienced! If you like this stuff, you'll love Chef Josh's version. If you've never had it, you are in for a treat!
So there ya have it! I take a bite, then I write and O'Briens is all right!
Tell them John & Beth and Dave &...
Read moreI want to start by saying we have lived in Wesley Chapel over 6 yrs now and this was our first time visiting. We have been hesitant to try because of the smoking allowed outside the front door as you walk in. Today we decided that it’s middle of the week and wanted to try something new but close to home. We were pleasantly surprised. We arrived shortly after 6p and there were plenty of open tables. Our waitress (a sadly forget her name) was incredibly sweet and friendly! I tried the jalapeño & cucumber margarita which was quite tasty - perfect amount of spicy. Hubby had a Smithwicks (there are 2 Irish beers on draft - Guinness and Smithwicks but plenty of non-Irish options as well). We order the fries and gravy appetizer and the gravy was delicious! I ordered the French dip sandwich and hubs got the bangers & mash. No complaints with the sandwich and hubs said the bangers were tasty. He wasn’t as much of a fan of the mashed potatoes bc they were garlic but that is a probably a personal preference. The onion rings were top notch- light breading and perfect.
Learned that on Tuesday they offer trivia starting at 7:30. They have frequent live music events and various other entertainment. Overall, glad we gave this establishment a shot and will come again. Looking forward to trying other...
Read moreI visited this establishment for football the games last Sunday. I have visited many establishments that claim to be family friendly. This paticular establishment showed it's true colors. It came to our attention that our waitress Kelly ran into a hard situation that MANY working mothers face, she didnt have a sitter for her children. I sat across from these children who were well behaved and seated. I asked Kelly to speak to the manager. Instead of complaining I commended Kelly, and both managers that worked that night. Not only was Kelly attentive to us as customers she was attentive to her kids. When my children were young I worked as a server around my husband's hours and I know how important it is to a parent to have a understanding manager and to work for a true family friendly establishment. I know not all customers were understanding, but the people that complained (or even went as low as to not tip her) would've been the same complaining if the place was short staffed. Some people just need a reason to complain! Thank you Kelly for you...
