Olive Cove Italian Kitchen — Restaurant in Florida

Absolutely disgusting. I am very disappointed, I had really high hopes for this place and completely lost my appetite by the end. We got the cheese bread as appetizers and they tasted very bland and sweet, even with the sauce. The person I came with did not like them because it was completely soft, wasn't toasted and not much of a crust at all. We started off with waters, and I dont know what system they have there but it was some of the worst water I've tasted, and the metallic sewage taste of it stayed in my mouth for several minutes after. Did not want to have anything else to drink because if they cant get water right, I dont want to risk anything else. Then worst of all, we got our main meals. I had gotten the fettuccine alfredo with chicken added because its such a classic dish an idiot couldn't mess it up. Unfortunately when I tried it the chicken was incredibly gamey and I dont know if this is the proper word to describe it but it was soft- like it wasn't actually chicken or undercooked. The taste of it was as if it was marinated in that sewage water and boiled. Absolutely repulsive. We called one of the servers over- who we assumed to be the manager with his ignorance and pridefulness- to ask about it and he said "that is just how our chicken is, its our best seller so I dont know why you wouldn't like it. It's made with the best chicken by my chefs, so I don't know what to tell you but its good and I know it" ... not even to offer a replacement or to take it off, or any kind of apology or remake. He also mentioned that the chicken was grilled and finished in the sauce, and there was no markings or indications that it had been grilled (no grill marks, and the color of the chicken was completely white, again indication of boiling the chicken). The texture of the chicken also indicated it was boiled instead of grilled, a pretty distinct and stark difference. It was incredibly arrogant, especially for a manager. I completely lost all my appetite and couldnt finish my meal. Im extremely disappointed, would not recommend, and will never be coming back. Thank you for absolutely...

We have been coming here for years! That’s why on Mother’s Day I wanted to go there! So horrible, and disappointing. The server needs a new profession because she doesn’t have a clue about the restaurant business or customer service. We walked in the first time she said that the kitchen broke down and that they would not reopen till 515. No problem we said we’ll come back. We came back walked in. She said nobody will be served food until 530 OK but I’ll see you OK I’m not in a hurry. It’s Mother’s Day. She was so busy walking around telling everybody how she was the only server where the 30 minutes that we waited to even get a drink she could’ve had water to the whole restaurant. And believe me I know this I was in the restaurant business for 20 years But no, she chose to complain. OK still no problem. 30 minutes later we got our glass of wine in our beer and she finally took our order, but not before she took the order of the lady that sat down right next to us that was getting to go. We had already had a gentleman that was sitting down next to us that walked in in order to go that not only got his wine, gave his order and received his order before we even got a glass of wine or a beer. By time she was done complaining she could have watered the whole restaurant and took drink orders, but I’m just saying like I said I did this for 20 years. I’m not sure what she said to the owner when she went in the back because my husband did voice his concern about her taking the second to go order before she even Took our order or the people behind us that had been there longer. The owner came out was totally mad at us screaming at us telling us he wish that he could be home with his family on Mother’s Day and that he was the only one cooking. Maybe you should’ve just shut down for the night. Sorry to say that we will not be back. Good luck to you and your business. Maybe if you get a new server, it’ll be better. I’m really sorry to say worst experience ever in my life and I’m 65 years old. I’m so sad Because I’ve always said when a nice man was and always...

Update: November 17 2024,

Went for lunch. Food was good. But if it was my restaurant I would:

1. remove the "please keep door closed" sign on the front door.
2. clean the glass on the front door
3. remove the earbud from hostess/ waiters ear
4. wipe down the dirty menu's
5. turn down the loud...but nice... music
6. bring enough water for everyone at the table. (2 people)
7. follow up during the meal to see if everything is ok
8. don't get defensive when receiving feedback
9. act like you appreciate your customers

Not a good start. Was visiting the brewery next door when I noticed a sign in the window of Olive Cove for $10 spaghetti to go. After my pint I walked into the restaurant and stood at the podium that says " please wait to be seated".

A waiter near the bar asks something of me and I suggested he come closer to talk so the other customers are not disturbed.

I place my spaghetti order, wait at the bar and review the menu. When spaghetti comes out in a to go bag and I pay for it, I order a large pizza to go as well and order a glass of wine while I wait for pizza.

While waiting for pizza another waitress put the spaghetti back in the kitchen to keep warm. After 5 minutes I ask for spaghetti to eat at bar while waiting for pizza and drinking my wine. Spaghetti comes out and after my prayers and I begin to take food out of the bag another person...I assume the owner...says " food is for take out"... implying do not eat that here!!

I obeyed, wrote this review and finished my wine. I'll be back IF food is any good....but so far the...
