Came here about a month ago and it was terrible. Came in today for dinner to give it another try and it was worse. The first time I at least got my food but it was just cooked terribly. Service was ok, the server came took our order, and brought out the order but rarely came back to check. It wasn't very busy during the time we came as the restaurant was only about 30% full. Now let's get to the worst part. The server took our order and didn't come back until about 20 minutes later to let me know that they ran out of my food and that the other foods (other people's orders that were with me) were ready. The dish they were out of was the Chicken and Dumplings. Never been to a Cracker Barrel that ran out of Chicken and Dumplings - craziness. Then it gets even worse. So the server takes my new order after bringing everyone else their food. My new order was the Country Boy with steak tips, eggs medium well, extra crispy plain hash browns, and apple slices. Fast forward another 20 minutes (everyone is done eating at my table) my food comes out and the eggs were made wrong, steak tips were overcooked, dried out, and rubbery, and my hasbrowns were not done and needed another 10 minutes. Fine, I was so fed up by now as it had been 40 minutes of waiting for food I decided to eat what I got. I ate one steak tip and was ready to throw it out, eggs were good even though it was cooked wrong, hash browns came and were only half crispy, and apple slices had no flavor. I was here visiting family and I have to say this is by far the WORSE Cracker Barrel I have ever been to. I WILL NEVER come back here again. It's this location that has problems. Management maybe? I just know that this place should call the Oldsmar location and get some advice cause that location is in a whole other galaxy in food, service, and atmosphere. The Oldsmar location is always packed because it's just that GOOD. Never thought I would ever go to a Cracker Barrel that would not only disappoint me but piss me off. The server didn't try to make any attempt to compensate for the terrible experience and management didn't seem to care too much when concerns were expressed during checkout. Overall 0 out of 5. McDonalds has better food and service than this location. If they are this bad when it is slow, I would hate to see what it is like when...
Read moreI've been coming here for many years. I used to LOVE Cracker Barrel, but I have to say, there has been a huge decline in the food and service at this location. I know things change over time, but I'd like to point out some big changes that I've noticed. First of all, they used to have the BEST green beans and turnip greens. But the green beans that I received yesterday tasted like they came straight from the can- no seasoning, no salt, no bacon. They are NOTHING like they used to be. The turnip greens used to have great seasoning and pieces of ham hock in them, but now they barely have any flavor. The macaroni and cheese used to be baked and now it seems like they might just mix it up in a pot and use a 'boxed' macaroni and cheese. I doubt if it's even real cheese. The mashed potatoes were very disappointlng. I do believe they are instant potatoes and have an instant potato consistency. As for the service, we have ordered for curbside pickup several times lately and both times had issues. One time we waited almost an hour for our food, as they said they lost our order. The other time had issues as well. I feel that they have become too big to care about their food quality and service anymore. This is supposed to be a country style restaurant with country style food. I am a cook and I know how to make country style food- this food doesn't taste homemade anymore. I'm not saying everything is bad, as the fried chicken is quite good. I have to say that the manager did try to compensate for the hassles we encountered with our orders. That was appreciated. BUT I do wish Cracker Barrel would return to the Cracker Barrel I used to love. I don't want to see this restaurant go out of business, but they do need to return to the good country food they used to serve. I'm not sure what the problem is. I think they are trying to cut corners to save money and time, but they are charging more for the food. I'm not sure of other Cracker Barrels, this review is for the Wesley...
Read moreMy husband and I came to this location about a month ago for breakfast, food was absolutely terrible. I asked for well done eggs and over cooked bacon as I am pregnant and cannot eat undercooked food, they brought me watery runny eggs and my bacon looked like it barely kissed the grill. Everything was under cooked, I asked for them to cook it longer and they brought it back still undercooked and I waited 10 minutes extra for food I couldn't even eat. My husband and I came back for dinner with my family, we figured maybe the 1st time was just a bad crew. 2nd time was just as bad. My husband asked for chicken and dumplings, the waiter came after everyone else received their food to tell my husband that they ran out of chicken and dumplings after we waited about 20 minutes for our food. My husband ended up ordering a breakfast meal, asking for eggs over medium and they gave him scrambled instead, and the steak tips were so overcooked that they were rubbery. Even his fried apples were overcooked and rubbery. My sister ordered the campfire roast beef and she had 3 pieces of beef and undercooked veggies, she also ordered a side of mash potatoes that she was told would take an hour to cook AFTER he put the rest of her food on the table. I ordered grilled chicken tenders that I couldn't enjoy because they slabbed bland mac and cheese right on top of the chicken instead of a bowl on the side. The kitchen needs a lot of work or training or maybe a sign that says they are out of certain foods to get people to go eat somewhere else. I am not sure how this certain location has 4.3 stars because it does not show it in the food. Spend $102 and it was not worth it at all. I would never come back to this location again. If I can give the food portion 0 stars I...
