The lobster bisque was incredible, the stuffed shrimp special of the evening was also very good. But nothing else..... We went on the last day of November of this year.. we had a reservation at 6:30 and were seated promptly. It's a beautiful restaurant the atmosphere was great, noise level was perfect. Sat down and ordered our appetizer and meals we had our two children with us. In short order I got my bisque bowl...... several minutes later I asked if my wife was going to get her cup of soup and was told that they brought mine out first because I had ordered it as an appetizer. Which was odd because my wife also ordered her soup as an appetizer. She suggested a encrusted halibut which I loved the sound of and ordered that ...my kids had the meatball and spaghetti and the mac and cheese, my wife ordered their other special of the evening which was stuffed shrimp. The food arrived and the stuffed shrimp and meatball was very good. The mac and cheese was not good at all. My kids will eat any type of mac and cheese ever made and they tried it but let 90% of it. We tried adding salt and it did not help. My halibut had absolutely zero taste when it comes to the fish itself the crust and the sauce on either side was excellent but the fish had a negative taste.. literally like if there was nothing on the plate. We decided not to test the deserts and just went down the street for some ice cream. The hotel we were staying in was super excited to ask us how our reservation was the following morning at breakfast and they were very surprised at our experience since they have their company Christmas dinner there every year. They had never heard any negative comments. I guess it was just our time.

We arrived for our reservation and were sitted outside. About 15mins go by and no one came to greet us so I went to the hostess stand and the manager who was at the stand said "oh sometimes when they sit you out there the server can't see you because of the trees." Like what? If that's the case why sit people there. Another 5 mins go by and finally a server comes over, she notes that we are there celebrating our anniversary and says "don't worry guys, I'll save the night"... but it was more like she finished torpedoing the night. We order drinks, she brings my husband's drink for forgets mine. Then when the food was finally served, me and my husband just looked at each other and she asks what's wrong? My husband politely informs her that he did not order that dish and reminds her of what his order was.. she says, omg and grabs the plate and says I'll be right back. At this point, I'm left to eat my meal by myself or wait for it to get cold. About 7 mins go by and she brings my husband's meal, his dish had shrimp and lobster. I was pretty much done eating, which my burger was ok and my fries were cold. My husband's shrimps were undercooked I'm guessing since they tried to rush the dish out. We were there for close to 2hrs to get subpar food and horrible service. I would definitely stay away. The only good thing was the bread pudding but not enough to save our anniversary dinner. The good reviews most be from all the drunk people we observed going in and leaving the establishment because otherwise anyone with a bit of taste would be sadly disappointed here.

The establishment is incredibly charming and their outdoor seating is lovely. We had a party of four on Saturday evening and we were all pleased with our meals. The service was acceptable, not amazing but efficient. And the food came out fast! Here is a note of interest, they added 15% gratuity automatically without asking. I find that a little funny. We typically tip between 20-25% unless the service is stellar or lacking. So the fact that they dump 15% on you no matter what may disincentivize their servers. Although I am sure the reason they do it is because of all the cheapskates in the world - that is just bad behavior. All entrees include a simple salad and typically when a place does this the salad is really a let down. Refreshingly, the salad they offer while simple was quite good! Our party had two prime rib meals and the portions were very fair! The meat was not the most tender prime rib, but it was very acceptable and the flavor was excellent. There were also two pasta dishes, my wife’s lobster pasta was outstanding! Great flavor and the lobster was some of the most flavorful we have ever had. My sister-in-law LOVED the house made sausage! She raved about the sausage and simply could not get enough! Overall we were so happy with our experience that we are thinking of going back instead of trying some of the other restaurants while we are in town this week! Did I mention the house mad sausage, my sister-in-law loves a good sausage! To those about to dine, we salute you!

My husband and I celebrated Valentines Day with brunch. We were a little disappointed that it was a limited menu, but we plan to go back! We started with the escargot. What was nice is that they seemed to replace some of the normal butter with broth, so it definitely tasted lighter (and healthier) than traditional. The bread served with it was fantastic. Dense and flavorful. I had the Raintree Salad which was very simple - Gorgonzola, raisins and craisins on mixed greens. The balsamic vinaigrette was perfectly paired. The seafood thermador was creamy with big chunks of lobster. The old Fashioned was very nice as well. Tim, our server, was excellent. We’re looking forward to dinner to try the full menu. The second time we went for Mother’s Day. My husband started with the Trentini. Local gin with lemon and orange. It was very tart/sour for me, but my husband like it. We started with the lobster sweet pepper bisque- the red peppers made a great complement to the lobster. Creamy and full of small lobster pieces. He had the duck which was nice and crispy with an Asian orange sauce. I had the Steak Wedge. Lots of romaine, bacon, blue cheese and 2 pieces of well prepared steak. We were so full we didn’t have room for dessert! Alara was a fantastic server! Very nice and accommodating!

Lived here 21 years and have always wanted to try this place. So we took our date night friend for a lovely evening of dinner, drinks and beautiful St. Augustine. Easy to get to, seated early. Server was wonderful. Cocktails were delicious, I tried the Raintree Ruby… so refreshing for this hot summer Florida day. Hubs had bourbon, very nice pours. We did not partake is appetizers but moved on to salads. The raspberry vinaigrette was incredible tart and sweet. Perfect summer salad. Hubs had grilled wedge salad… wasn’t a super fan. On to dinner…. My husband ordered the Beef Welling ( that’s what they highly recommend) none of us cared for it…It was so tender it was almost mushy. I had eggplant parmigiana… not something they should carry, Craig had steak…yes he asked for well… they delivered( onion rings were best part of his meal and veggies. Ms. A had triggerfish special, said fish was ok. We moved on to desserts…. Sigh… chocolate dome cake lacked flavor, crème brûlée was to thick with custard to match the delicious crunchy top, apple crepe, mmmmmmm smelled and tasted like fall. Key lime well.. they say it was key lime but it tasted like cheese cake. I was sad about this review as we were all excited to try. Not on my list to revisit. Sigh

This restaurant in the heart of St Augustine is such a gem. We have only lived in the area for six months and have frequented this restaurant many times and each time we are even more pleased. My absolute favorite on their menu is the red pepper lobster bisque. So much so that when we were leaving one night, we happened to speak with the owner And we gave him rave reviews of his bisque. He was so nice that he offered to show me how to make it! I was over the moon. What an incredible chef, to share his recipe with me, knowing that I am passionate about cooking. The service is always impeccable, and the atmosphere is so quaint and pretty. You feel like you’re eating in a garden. Additionally, they are incredibly allergy friendly, including gluten free. My husband is celiac, and there are many options to choose from. Aside from the filet, My husband loves their bang, bang shrimp. If you haven’t given Raintree a try, it is a must! It has been family owned now for four generations, and you can tell that they put lots of love into their cooking. Thanks Chris, Lorna, and Dustin! You are all so welcoming and a pleasure to meet! See you soon!
