I ordered a large pie w garlic knots, i was told 30 mins to pick up which it was ok since i live only 2 mins away. i picked up the pizza on time but unfortunately it comes home dry and cold. Honestly, i was biting the bullet with the pizza being cold as it was late and i had to feed the kids but when i open the garlic knots and discovered there was no garlic on the knots and once i bit into them they are just bread soaked in plain oil i decided to call to give the restaurant some feedback, obviously feedback wasn't really welcomed by owners daughter/ manager. i had told her originally if she could just return the money for knots it Would be a good compromise as it makes up a bit for the unpleasantry of both the pizza and the knots but she insisted i had to bring the knots back and the pizza so she can remake … i told her it was ok about the pizza as i needed to feed the kids and it was getting late bu the refund for the knots will suffice. She insisted and so i agreed to leave in the middle of the meal to comply with her demand, we were told pizza was cold because it was ready sooner (15-20 mins before i was told to pick up) again i had already let the pizza issue go . my issue was i was put on hold 10 mins the first time , 5 mins the second time and the third time my husband decided to talk but treated poorly and was told we needed to drive food back she said to me it is “principle” and i must drive the knots back. Against any common sense i drove the knots back only to be greeted by the worst manager/ owner on earth. This girl clearly has no experience handling situations ss she was contentious and argumentative from beginning to end, i expressed frustration at the pettiness of having to drive back 6 garlic knots to be refunded the 6 dlls but she continued to express why she felt she was right! while i kept emphasizing the pettiness and making her see how losing a customer and reputation over garlic knots wasn't worth it. She just kept arguing with me. It just went on and on so one of her employees jumped in to “ defend her” while i was never disrespectful to anyone i was frustrated at her being so argumentative the employee did make me feel threatened bc she made it out to sound like i was yelling so i felt at some point she was going to fight me i explained to her i was trying to resolve this w manager and her jumping in was making matters worst bc according to her i was being disrespectful… then i was even more annoyed at them ganging up on me when i was just frustrated ag the fact that i the customer was the one accommodating to their request of driving there. i explained to her ( customer giving an explanation to waitress) how her manager has been rude to me over the phone and to my husband and from the moment i walked in so asking for respect when respect wasnt given to me was kind of unfair again all of this over her saying i needed to drive back 6 dlls worth of garlic knots to the restaurant! ive never ever in my life have been so bullied over 6 dll … i told her is ok i ate the pizza sometimes food doesn't come out perfect and i was ok with it, she could have just refund the 6 dlls ( out of principle ) and compromise! bc to me it was never about the 6 dlls or the money but the way she chose to handle the situation and the way i was treated over the phone and at the restaurant the fact that only when she finally made me drive there and made me upset enough then she was willing to refund me which it was never the point! she obviously missed the point, has horrible customer service and managerial skills all over garlic knots… i gave this place a chance after it changed owners but i wont be returning “OUT OF PRINCIPLE” … this restaurant went from bad to worse and i really hope me driving out of my house without finishing my dinner bc she wanted me to bring knots back makes her sleep better at night and gives her the satisfaction she wad so longing for. After they made me incredibly upset then they presented me with “shush” food in a plastic bag which “ by principle” i...
Read moreJust FYI- RESERVATIONS NEEDED IN COVERED PATIO.
They have 2 patios one is covered and the other half covered with patio umbrellas. If you want to get a table where the patio was covered then you need a reservation. I wish someone would have said this so I'd make one in advance.
Came with family; partner, mother in-law and fur baby. The weather in Florida is always weird, one min its fine the next clouds come over, its windy and maybe there will be rain. Anyways, I was a bit disappointed to hear that we couldn't sit under the covered patio. I told the maître d, I needed outdoor seating because I had my dog, mind you she wasn't doing anything except looking at a piece of paper. Moments later, she acknowledges me and says, "You need the table right now?" ?? (WHAT) in response, I say Yes. She grabs menus and takes us to the uncovered patio area.
We arrived an hour before happy hour is done and decide on drinks, which I have to say is a good price. Our server Sydnie was fast and courteous. Well... only in the beginning and end after the food arrived, we couldn't find her. I think she had way too many tables to take care of. Which, was why we lacked some of the customer service.
What we ordered....
House Red wine - 4/5
Tommy's Long Island- 4/5
Knots (garlic oil on the side) - 3/5 I noticed some tables got it but its something you have to ask for. Which should just be a given.
Caesar Salad - 4/5
Calamari - 5/5 Best think I ate here, next time I would just get this with a side of sauce and spaghetti and call it a night!!
Chicken Parm - 2/5 I know when you hold these for service which you shouldn't it becomes hard and dry. The chicken was pounded so thin it was mostly breading. Sauce was ok nothing to scream about.
Shrimp Parm - 1/5 Terrible, the breading was way too overwhelming, one can't even tell if it was shrimp or chicken. Definitely, over cooked, the breading was dark and I guess the chef hoped no one would notice by adding too much sauce.
Our Mother in-Law had the shrimp parm and barely touched it. We shared our two cents and the manager made the right call by asking her if she wanted something else and took it off the bill. I asked for a to go box and ended up leaving the chicken parm because it wasn't worth taking home.
I would love to come back and...
Read moreOverall a disappointment. We’ve been here many times and the food is OK at best. We go because my kids enjoy the “make your own pizza”. However last night was my son’s 8th birthday and he chose THIS place to celebrate it with family. Our waiter was way in the weeds and rushed every time he came to the table. I brought in my son’s fav desert to sing HBD at the end and the waiter told me there would be a $25 CAKE FEE for us bringing it! I’ve never heard of this before. I did not indulge that at all. Today I look at my bill and see there was the $18 calamari we did not accept at the table because I specifically asked if it was not fried and the long squid piece with tentacles…. He said yes, so my son ordered it, but it came out fried, in circles which he doesn’t like and I didn’t accept the calamari… but we paid for it. There was also an additional charge for pineapple for the kids MYOP of $4. My kids ordered virgin margaritas and they were $11 each. For a virgin. Between the rushed waiter who wasn’t really hearing us, the overpriced mediocre food and this nonsense cake fee for people who choose to celebrate at your establishment… let’s just say “we took a good look”. We won’t be going back.
………. To clarify your information… we DID have a reservation for 6PM and it was a party of 5, two of which were children. I even came IN to the restaurant to make it with my son and told the hostess it was his 8th birthday. I didn’t even order a main dish since the two Kids pizzas were too much food for them so we shared. The cake fee could have been mentioned when I came IN person to reserve a table for us 5. The calamari should have been removed from the bill. On your previous menu you had grilled squid…not just the fried calamari…. That was what I was trying to ask the waiter, but again, he was weeded and not very present with us. I get times can be busy, I’ve been a server myself for over 10 years… if you’re that busy on a Thursday evening at 6pm, schedule more staff. Thanks for your reply, just wanted to correct your misinformation on the review. So for two adult meals and two children who ordered basic pizzas and a few alcoholic beverages… and a little boy who didn’t get his birthday song until we got home… your bill was expensive. Goodluck with your business...
