I will revisit this restaurant and possibly update my review.
I would love to give Willie's Four Stars. However, the seriously detracting issue is that they are SO SLOW. Food routinely takes far longer than acceptable for a commercial kitchen. I have no issues waiting for quality food, and the food here is of good quality and is ultra flavorful. But on more than one occasion I have ordered delivery for a specific time, or have phoned in my order directly with a pick up time, only to learn that they refuse to start an order until someone is there for it. Bad business strategy. There are a ton of businesses nearby who can offer similar products much faster, and on time.
Don't bother trying to justify this bad practice or wait times with some "island time" response. That goes out the window when you decide to open a business to the public. Now you're on your customer's time. To kill half of a lunch break waiting for food to be made that should have been ready at the pick up time requested is unacceptable and they should not accept this from themselves. If you aren't going to honor a pick up time, don't take the order in the first place. This may anger some people, but not nearly as much as wasting their time.
Again, the food is great, which is why this time issue is incredibly crucial to fix. Willie's is EASILY four stars with better timing and could approach five stars with some other small...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe are having work done to one of our vehicles so my husband and I decided to stop and get something to eat. We chose Willieās Pinchos. Not knowing it has been visited by Guy Fieriās DDD. We walked in and was greeted and we said dine in. The lady at the front told us what table so we went and sat down. We waited for over 15 minutes before my husband got up and went back to the front counter where 2 women were just talking hanging out. He said we are ready and one of the girls was like okay we will be over there in a minute. A few moments later we finally got someone to take our order. Not a very good first impression especially since there is another Spanish food restaurant in this same plaza. We almost walked out and went over there. We have been seated for over 20 minutes at this point. Still no drinks have been brought out to the table. Absolutely horrendous service. My husbands meal came out first. Before my meal. Before our drinks even. Terrible terrible service. All the tables are dirty. Have been since we walked in. No one has cleaned the tables still the entire time we have been here. Just hanging out talking at the front counter. I guess it wouldāve been better if we asked for it to go. Maybe then we wouldnāt have been treated so poorly. Food was good. But the fact my husbands meal came out 15 minutes before mine did and he was done before I even ate, was very upsetting....
Read moreDetoured here on my recent trip to Cape Canaveral and it was definitely worth it! I ordered the Carne Frita which is fried pork chunks with onions and peppers, served with mofongo, garlic bread, mayo ketchup sauce, cilantro sauce and lettuce, tomato, onion and cilantro. I really enjoyed this dish. It was so fresh and filling. The pork had a lot of fatty pieces so I ended up spitting out about a third of it. Some people like the fatty parts of the meat however, I do not. It was good but I'd try something different next time. The star of the show on this dish is definitely the mofongo. The freshness and homemade qualities are evident. I could have ate tons more of this! It was garlicy with a nice texture and not dry. I also tried the Pinchos de Camaron. The 3 pretty good sized shrimp were cooked well and had a great flavor. This too, was served with garlic bread. The cherry on top was the Piña Colada. It was made to order and just bursting with tropical flavor. It was nice, cold and refreshing. A great way to acclimate to the Florida humidity, just after landing! Service was great and food came out quickly. I haven't had a lot of Puerto Rican food but this has been my favorite so far. Thank you Willie's, I hope to...
