I would like to give my review...I applied to work for Disney a total of 6 times. 2 position I am well qualified for. Recently I applied for a position in the security field which I know, based off of my 18+ years of Military service and College degree, I am qualified for. I exceeded the minimum experience in the field. In applying online, I was never asked to submit a resume. And then I was asked to do a webs interview to which, were the same questions in the initial application just worded differently and was told I had to answer them in a timed fashion, to which i did...at the end of the web base interview it stated that given the information provided they had no positions available at this time...I don't understand, I was applying for an open position. I was not given the opportunity to speak to anyone nor present my certifications, experience or credentials..Also in the application process it asked if I served in the military in which I replied yes...after getting the notification that there was no openings in the position I was applying for, I waited and looked at the website a few days later to see if that position is still there, to finding it was along with a position I applied for 6 months ago... I was given a number to call if I wanted to speak with someone and sat on the phone for over a hour trying to reach a actual person only to be greeted by a recording of a woman to press this number or that number to no end and with the in ability to actually talk to a live person at the other end of the phone...I expected more for the Disney corp in this...not only to deny me employment without seeing my credential or resume but, not able to actually talk to a person...this is horrific. I know I am a small fish in a huge pond but, your employment process is horrible and unprofessional...I wish I can give a negative star for the career website and to know I frequent Disney because I live next door to them..I see elder individuals and know the other security professionals on hand..I would have been an asset to the company but, thank you for showing me how unpleasant it is to apply and actually being able to sit through a hour of prompts to get...

I was a former employee at the Resorts in Florida. I recently applied once again after ten years. I was told after several minutes into the interview that there was a position open that  I could be placed in. Well I was quite happy at the possibility, I enjoyed working for Disney beforehand and was looking forward to working for what I believed to be a very responsible company. I have been waiting for the interview with much anticipation, even placing others on hold.

After a few minutes on hold the representative comes back to tell me she will not be able to offer me that position due to a restricted rehire position from TEN years back. I say have you even looked over my resume. I have excellent references, consistent work history and more than the average experience for the position offered. I have won awards and accommodations for my abilities. Working on a military installation has given me the opportunity to work with some of West Points finest and with many levels of authority. I know I have what it takes.

I ask why would this not have been taken care of before wasting everyones time. It is truly irresponsible for a company to not do the research beforehand. As well as have a way for former employees to be considered with what is current work/employment history. Disney himself failed various times before his success. Could you imagine if someone had not believed in him due to his previous failures or he simply was judged by those? Many times he was given the opportunity.

Why would you as a company hold former employees to past records without comparing with current? Why would a policy in place since 1971 not be revisited for its current value?

One again I know MY worth as an employee. I know how hard and dedicated I am to my work. Its unfortunate the policy in place may cost you many Capable, Loyal, Dedicated, Hard Working employees.
