Clink Wine Bar + Bites — Restaurant in Flower Mound

This is a little gem at Lakeside. We did our staff event there on a Saturday afternoon, using their private room. The preparations to create our event were very easy to handle and the staff I was dealing with were professional and took great care to meet what we wanted. We showed up, with our group of 20, and everything was ready to go. As we walked into the room, the staff were on it, serving the wine, beer, sodas, and cold water was already on the table. During our meeting, we were not disturbed and was able to have the time we needed. Afterward, we ended up not using all the alcohol we estimated for the event and the bill was adjusted to only cover what we used. Very much appreciated, as other places make you pay a flat rate no matter the end result. We came for an upscale time of wine and bites and that's what we got. Our team stayed after the event and sat on the patio for another hour just to hang out with each other. The only negatives I can offer are: the room is a little tight for 20 moving people, if you are going to be stationary and served, it'll be fine. It's also pricey. Our first visit was last Friday and we are headed back tonight. They have a nice selection of wines and beers. My wife and i chose different wines and both were excellent. The neatest thing was being our first time our server helped us put together flights to get our tastes. With wines picked we moved forward with food. We started with the potato puffs and a charcuterie and cheese board. The puffs were awesome. The charcuterie board was really good as well and came with great presentation. From there my wife and i shared a flatbread that was so delicious it was gone in a few minutes. We topped off our meal with a chocolate tart that was so decadent that it almost made you feel guilty. We overcame that guilt and are ready to go back for another one. The Chef is french trained so the food has a french influence. Everything we had was so good. First time I went to Clink, I was in love. I enjoyed our waiter who look the time to describe each wine in our flight with a simple description. He sold me on this venue. The last few times I’ve had a young college aged server who didn’t attempt to do anything but put wine and food on table though he wasn’t busy that night. I thought maybe just new, next time same server. I asked him to give us a little info about the wine flight. He said hold on and went to the back and came out with a crumpled piece of paper with some notes. Apparently he couldn’t read his own notes. Basically said umm I don’t really know much. I was very disappointed. A wine flight requires a description, at least what each wines area or flavor note. I’d recommend either educated the staff or providing qr code scan boxes on table so we can scan them ourselves for info on our wine.
