I have given a lot of thought before writing this review but, after speaking to several of my family members and colleagues we have decided to let you all know the semi- terrible experience we had on Father’s Day. (How else do I expect you all to improve) After a beautiful day enjoying the lake and we met this couple that was bragging about Mi Cocina on what a great place it was to enjoy a great meal. So, we decided to try it out hostess greeted us with a great smile and sat us pretty quickly ( there was a few crumbs under the table but nothing to be worried about) got chips in salsa and the young lady told us that server should be right out to get our drink order. We were really impressed and how well everything was going until we realized that 5 minutes had passed and no server had yet been to our table. As we were looking everywhere we would see servers standing around and more servers across a wall laughing and what looked like writing on a book also saw a male manager (was nicely dressed) walk right passed us and sit on a table with a other female who had a peach or pinkish shirt. At this point we figured they were customers as well till we saw them both walk into the kitchen what appeared the kitchen. During that time all we can here is who has table 22 from different servers and no one would bother to come and check on us. After a long 7-8 minutes our server arrived got us our drinks food came out pretty quickly it was very tasty but still can’t get the first bad 10 minutes out of my head what appeared a day of celebration for Fathers Day ended up ruined. No manager check up … My daughter is a manager in Pappadeaux in McAllen so we are aware of how crazy it can get working in a restaurant but to have servers asking who has mesa 22 and no one to claim it and help other fellow workers so that customers don’t have to wait and leave with a bad taste is unacceptable. Mi Cocina do better after traveling 8 hours and having the privilege to meet wonderful people rave about your food and how well everything is and realize that it was a waste of time driving to try it. And for those two managers that were there at our time of visit no wonder servers don’t care about teamwork or what happens it all starts from you all (I would know you’re names if you all had the time to visit our table). Get your stuff together or Mi Cocina time to think about a new management that does care customer perception and word of mouth is everything and number one in...
Read moreMi Cocina is always a stop for us in Dallas - we usually visit the one in The Colony or Dallas off Coit. Martin was our server at Flower Mound, but he was so busy with his regulars that we were ignored greatly. It appeared they had some people from corporate visiting. We went without chips and even asked for them and never got them. A lady came over and gave me a water, but took away my partner’s water and never got it back. She had to drink our daughter’s water. Def a miss tonight with us. He clearly knows what he’s doing and wanting to take care of all the regulars he was shaking hands with and introducing the mgr to - wish one of the three kids that came on would have taken us where he could hob knob with his regulars. He knew he ignored us as I asked for a Togo box, the check, and reminded him he never brought us any chips. He didn’t offer chips with the Togo box or anything I would expect for him to attempt to take care of us on the back end when we were clearly needing things. I think that’s what moved me to write this - was his lack of care about us. We had zero water. He then handed off my credit card to a younger male server to run our card. He was hospitable when he brought it over and talked to us nicer than Martin ever did. Martin was in the weeds and we paid for. Food was sub par as well. My daughter ordered her usual a Mico Burrito and he asked her chicken or beef. We were confused as it’s always brisket. She said chicken because he was rushing us. Thankfully he came back and asked what type of chicken and I said the Mico Burrito is brisket, right? He had zero time for us. Salads on two of the plates were melted and hot. Crispy enchiladas verdes was soft. He did say that my meal would take 15 minutes and was it okay. Not what we are used to and maybe Martin should just take his regulars when he’s...
Read moreMy husband and I recently dined at My Cocina restaurant, and this time we had the pleasure of bringing our friends who had recently moved to the area. From the moment we entered the restaurant, our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional.
We were warmly greeted by Fermin, the manager, who made us feel right at home. The level of hospitality and attention to detail was impressive. We decided to order the Tacos Habana, which were delightful and full of flavor. Our friends opted for the Brisket Tacos and were equally pleased with their choice.
To our delight, the restaurant brought us a platter of appetizers, which were served before our meal. These appetizers were absolutely delicious and set the tone for a fantastic evening of dining.
During our visit, my husband ordered a Sangria with no ice. However, the waitress initially brought him a half-filled wine glass of Sangria. Fermin, being attentive to every detail, immediately noticed the mistake and personally took care of it by bringing my husband a full glass of Sangria. This gesture demonstrated the level of care and commitment to ensuring a flawless dining experience for their patrons.
The evening was truly flawless. Our friends, who had recently moved to the area from Paris and Poland, were highly impressed by the exceptional service, quality of food, and overall positive atmosphere. Fermin's energetic presence, attention to detail, and exceptional customer service made us feel like part of the My Cocina family.
Based on this outstanding experience, I highly recommend My Cocina to all my friends and anyone looking for an extraordinary dining experience. We will certainly be returning soon to enjoy the warm hospitality, delicious food, and overall good vibes that My Cocina...
