The Flour Shop Bakery — Restaurant in Flower Mound

A couple of weeks back, I placed an order for a number cake. I stopped by this morning to pay for my cake order and to possibly add another cake. I inquired with the staff member (not sure her name, but she had short colorful hair and wore glasses) about my current cake order, and how many people it would feed. She told me she didn't know and would have to go ask, but not in a friendly manner. I told her I would like to know ballpark how many, she rolled her eyes and turned and walked away to ask someone in the back. When she returned, she told me my order would only be enough for 20 people. I then responded with needing 2 more cakes cause I would need enough for 40. She seemed annoyed at my request, rolled her eyes again, then stated that she did not have what she needed to "change my order." She then looked at me and stated, "You want this with the same budget?" in a condescending tone. I told her that I would, of course, increase the budget, but she did not seem to want to help at all. I ended up telling her I would come back at another time to pay for the cakes and not to worry about it, and left. After finding another bakery that was kind and helpful, I called and cancelled my order. If I may also add, while this was going on, another employee was standing at the counter taking another order and heard the whole encounter. Needless to say, I will not...

I used to be obsessed with the pretty in pink cupcake several years back, finally was able to revisit a few weeks ago, and they’ve changed a lot. I don't know if it was just a bad day, but won’t be wasting more money on poor tasting cupcakes. The cupcake itself had good flavor, slightly dry, but not enough to put me off. The icing was bad, to say the least. Texture was fine, slightly hard, but I ordered later in the day so can’t complain. The flavor, however, was extremely processed, it’s like they added 5x the amount of extract that was supposed to be in it. It was overwhelming, left a nasty aftertaste, tasted slightly fermented, and ruined the entire cupcake. They really need to change their recipe on the icing. 100% awesome service with 100% delicious desserts. I Googled cupcake delivery and out of 3 top results, this was the only one still open at 2:00 PM. I called and the lady notified me her delivery drivers had already left but she would be happy to deliver cupcakes herself after closing at 6:00 PM. It's a Birthday delivery so I couldn’t delay it a day and the timing actually worked out for me. This amazing lady then sat outside the delivery address because no one had opened the door and contacted me via phone because she didn’t want to leave the cupcakes at the door to spoil. Thankfully the Birthday girl was able to turn around her car and return home to receive her gift in person so it all worked out. She loves her cupcakes.
