Chipotle is charging for the tortilla on the side when ordering a burrito bowl. They said the tortilla had gone up in price so they are passing it on. Keep in mind that their prices in general have gone up, as has most everything now days. Ya, I get it. I They have to pay higher wages now. But. I've been ordering a burrito bowl with the tortilla on the side since I started going to Chipotle more years ago than I can count. They said that this charge started 6 months ago. I've been to many different Chipotles and none of them have charged me for the tortilla on the side. If they have, they have never mentioned it . It's the first time I have seen this done. If I just ordered a burrito I'd get the tortilla without an upcharge, as part of the burrito which makes sense. I'm not getting a salad and asking for a tortilla on the side. Maybe that would be different. This is a burrito that you're putting in a bowl (less messy this way) which normally includes the tortilla which would go into the bowl. They would sometimes ask if I wanted the tortilla in the bowl or on the side. I would ask for them to put it on the side. They would heat it and wrap it in tin foil. This isn't an unwrapped burrito bowel. That's not what they call it. It's a burrito bowl. Because I questioned them about this, a fairly aggressive employee dismissed the actual server who was helping me. (He was probably new, was nice and just doing his job). Bantering now, the aggressive employees created an escalating situation. He suggested I speak to a manager, which I said I didn't want to do and to just make the bowl. He didn't! I stood there waiting, with a line behind me. The manager showed up, although she didn't announce herself as one. It just continued from there. I finally asked her if she was the manager based on her behavior. Again, aggressive. I had already said that wasn't necessary. The original server had already heated and had started to wrap the tortilla and then it just sat there. They asked me if I still wanted it or if they should throw it out. I said it's already been heated. It's sitting there, and not going to waste it and we're holding up the line. They refused to complete my order even though I told them to do so repeatedly. Although the order was finally completed, this escalation wasn't necessary. Yes, I disputed the charge, but the way that this continued on which was created by two aggressive employees was ridiculous. I will never eat there again, and it may impact my desire to go to any Chipotle in any location. This Chipotle location...
Read moreThe food was extremely good and the employees were mostly good guys. Nevertheless the young woman who jumped in and decided to make my burrito was was extremely rude to me. She made references to brown rice and black beans with inflection which indicated hatred for everything white. As if my appearance and skin color were something to be angry about. She was very stingy with everything especially considering the meat is the price. I ordered a carnitas burrito. She threw a very tiny portion on my tortilla. She short with me and didn't want to give me peppers cheese or lettuce. She tried to force me to have guacamole and queso dip. My girlfriend Marissa had already ordered a large one and chips. There were about 5 tiny pieces of meat and little sprinkles of un-tasteable cheese. I did request a mix of brown and white rice, pinto and black beans. I apologize for the inconvenience but she made me feel unwelcome and undeserving of the food we were paying for. She laughed meanly when I said thank you. I felt embarrassed to ask for adequate portions of the ingredients I actually wanted. My burrito was mostly corn rice and beans. She could make out that I was disappointed with my food and obviously thought it was funny. Shaking her head and laughing.8 Unfortunately she was African American and I was afraid to say anything. The young people were very polite and the young men were excellent. Offering to clean tables, doing so promptly and with a friendly demeanor. The food was extremely good yes I am unsure what the meat tastes like as there was so little. The young man who was on the register had been very kind to my girlfriend, politely fulfilled her requests, and were quick to offer a to go bag for our left overs. Store was very clean and well run otherwise. Would have appreciated tasting some meat. I was so hungry for some protein packed food. I felt slightly cheated. Otherwise...
Read moreUpdate: My wife spoke with the manager when she got there and the staff remade the entire order. He also gave her buy one get one free coupons. I'm raising my review score, as the manager did his best to resolve the problem and make things right. But just be forewarned that this happened with an online order and could very well happen to you. The whole point of ordering online was to have the food ready to go when my wife got there so she wouldn't have to wait. This ended up taking her close to an hour with all the driving back and forth and time for them to remake the food. Did an online order for close to $50, apparently the staff cannot read at this site? Ordered 2 burritos and 1 bowl, my wife got 2 bowls and 1 burrito in the bag (when she asked about the 2nd bowl the staff member said they put one of the burritos into a bowl). The meats and items were all messed up from the order. Everything was showing correct on the receipt as it was ordered. Not sure what is wrong with the employees here. My wife just took the 2 bowls back as they were not made right, after she left I bit into the burrito that was labeled steak and it had pork in it. The only thing they did right on the entire order was the chips. To me this is just plain incompetence. I could understand if they accidentally messed up 1 item, but all of them? Stay away from the location on iron point rd. if your doing online orders. If they don’t fix the order properly when my wife gets back there, I will be disputing this charge with my credit...
