Extremely disappointed with the staff. Upon arrival to the store we witnessed a male employee screaming at a man who pulled up and stopped off to the side of the store. 30 seconds into the rant the mans pregnant wife exited the store and got in the car. Next we were not immediately greeted by the same Male employee. As we began to enter the store he demanded that we step off to the side and wait. There was one person in front of us. Very few visual ques were in place and they seamed to be having a conversation unrelated to a store visit. Once our turn came the male employee whom had just checked capacity said he thought they were full and needed to check capacity..... He looked at his device again after just checking it for the person in front of us and confirmed that there was plenty of room. At this point we were questioning why we had come here. Next in a very rude and condescending tone the male employee said "Do we need to have the safety talk" keep in mind that we always wear our masks and social distance. My family and I do not want this virus. This type of attitude continued throughout the store. My honest belief is that this is generally a great place to purchase goods. But there needs to be better training. And especially when it comes to how to speak to people and get your point across in a professional way. Read moreI just wanted to give a shout out to Amir and the manager Jen they were fantastic. I bought some MSR snow shoes at the end of last season used tgem twice and they weren’t working, realized that I had bought two right snow shoes. They were packaged incorrectly. No fault of my own! I went back right after New Year’s to exchange them for the exact same set. A previous store manager would have none of it. I was literally shocked because REI’s return and exchange policy is above and beyond every department store I’ve ever dealt with. I couldn’t believe she wanted to charge me more. She said they were a previous season and they weren’t the exact same snow shoe. When I went back a different manager, Jen easily looked everything up said they were exactly the same. Saw the promotion that they were giving last February in 2024 and didn’t bat an eye and dud an even exchange. Jen was phenomenal . Emir was so friendly and so kind and totally ready to help. Read moreCame in on Monday evening to buy a bike for my 11 year pld son during the Labor Day weekend sale. The blonde guy in the bike department was curt and dismissive. My boyfriend asked me if he thought he was being sexist because he looked to him and not me to answer my questions. He may know everything about bikes, but he was rude and not remotely helpful with my questions. This was a very special birthday gift for my son who was there and this guy just just couldn't be bothered to pretend to care. He told me to order the bike online, which I did only to discover that although it appeared available online, it was actually sold out so I had to go through the trouble of having a different associate help me get the refund.
