I haven’t had a bad experience with a cashier like the one I had with Brooke today at the DSW in Folsom. I went to the cash register to pay for some sunglasses and was asked for my contact information (I declined, but completely understand sales quotas). Brooke then tried to pressure me to give my contact information/sign up for the DSW program three more times, and by the fourth time when I asked once again to skip signing up and just buy the sunglasses, Brooke stopped my transaction and turned to the woman checking out next to me to ask if she wanted to save points because I wasn’t going to. It was a baffling, unnecessarily rude experience and caused me to walk away. I won’t be shopping at this DSW again, and have told friends and family about this. I’m sure the other employees at this store are kind people, but I never want to interact with Brooke again. I normally don’t have a reason to leave a one star review, but if this is how employees are trained to force sign-ups, I hope the store management changes...
Read moreI'm never one to complain about getting or not getting a military discount. It's always a most generous and compassionate display by any establishment to give such a thing. Just don't tell a veteran that you do give a military discount just to get a sale. The manager at this store was asked if they give a military discount at the point of sale and the manager said yes. He also added that it's been incorporated with your rewards points. If this is the case then everyone that shops there is a military member as long as you shop enough times to gather up some reward cash to spend. Call me crazy but this is called a bold face lie from the manager of this store and we will never shop here ever again. Just to be clear, it's not because of the discount, it's the dishonesty and deception from this manager. How dare you attempt to associate yourself as a store that cares about our veterans just to gain a sale. You...
Read more*Update-we have come to see more size 10 women's shoes! Yay! I hope that this trend continues. DSW is difficult to beat when it comes to a wide variety of styles, for sure. The Folsom location is spacious and (usually) well stocked. Prices are quite competitive and I appreciate the value! The staff works hard and does the best they can to work with customers and keep the store picked up and tidy. We have recently discovered the Achilles heel for it, though, when it comes to women's shoe sizes-my granddaughter is in the midst of a significant growth spurt and is now needing a women's 10.5 shoe. Good luck finding shoes in that size! While the staff at the local level has very little to do with ordering, I hope someone, somewhere, is noticing that the store needs larger sizes in...
