I really dislike leaving negative reviews so for me to take the time to leave this establishment a 1 star review should not be taken as a mistake. The best thing I have to say after today's visit to this place is that at least the hostess that seated us was nice. Was seated right away and waters were brought to our table and we were told our server would be with us shortly. Our server never showed up. I feel today's experience was perfect for "tell me you don't want my business without telling me you don't want my business." Employees were having a grand time holding conversations with each other while one was seen making their own drink and drinking behind the bar, meanwhile, us, the customers drink order wasn't even taken. After about 20 minutes of waiting and finishing our waters we decided to take our leave. As we walked out, we noticed BJ's right across the street so decided to go there. Walked in and had our drinks in hand within 5 minutes.

I know you can be better than this, Land Ocean. You have failed this customer!!! 🏹

I'm not sure how this will display as it appears I am editing my original review so I'll try to be detailed. I originally rated a 1 due to my above statement. However, once I saw the response to my review, I decided to give it another shot, but I did so without contacting Brett as I wanted to have a genuine experience without anyone knowing I was the "1 star" guy.

I am overjoyed that we decided to come back!!! The service was definitely on point today, from the hostess, to the busser, to our server, Kim. Clockwork!!! Felt almost as though each time, as soon as I had the thought that I was about ready to order something, she'd already be heading to our table. The vanilla old fashion, definitely a must have!! And the food... The GF had the sesame chicken salad which she says she loved!!

I had the 8oz top sirloin (honestly felt intimidated by the thought of a 16oz today) ordered medium rare it came with mash potatoes an asparagus which were cooked perfectly. The steak was cooked perfectly in my opinion. When I other medium rare, most places overcook it. Listennnnnnnnnnnn.... I don't know who is in the kitchen but I just had the most amazing experience and dinner with Land Ocean!!! This is gonna be a lil long so get your snackssssss!!! First!!! Let me just throw in I am a lead bartender and have been in the industry for a very long time (Management, Bartender, Host,Server, Expo, Dishwasher, Cook )... Full blown Vet!!! Food is life and alcohol should be free! Tonight was extremely exceptional! I drove from Washington State (754 miles) to visit my hunny at a location we will leave private, the amount of anxiety and stress I was under during this time was intense. After visiting my hunny I decided I needed an entire steak, shrimp, and 5th of Hennessy type of night, so I typed in steak and shrimp in my GPS and low and behold pops up Land & Ocean. When I walked in lighting was everything after a stressful day. I spoke to a host and told her I would just wait for a chair to open up at the bar she said okay but let's put your name on the list just in case. She was kind and so sweet a table opened up I hesitated she said it's okay don't worry... I sat at a table that sat 4 being in the industry I didn't want to take up such a big table for just me (It's Friday)...... Then walks in "Alla" same don't worry it's more comfy sit here it's okay I hesitated again... (Me stressed 😫) She said it's okay don't move stay here .. my heart sunk and I felt I was okay. This comment is to let it be knowin how much your kindness meant to me. Knowing I wasn't an inconvenience to you because I took up so much space but because I was human!!! From the host bartender and busser I was human!!! That alone means something!!! My steak was perfect and I have never had sauteed onions like tonight! Owners & Management... We’ve been here twice and both times had a very mixed experience.

Food: The ambience is great and desserts were outstanding—both the crème brûlée and apple crisp were excellent, easily 10/10. Unfortunately, the New York steak (ordered both visits) was consistently disappointing. At $45, you don’t expect it to be “melt in your mouth,” but you do expect it to be cooked properly. Both times we ordered medium and both times it came out completely overdone and very chewy.

Service: This was where things really fell apart. Our server seemed well… overwhelmed and a bit impatient throughout the night. For a party of eight, the process of simply paying the bill took nearly 30+ minutes. We had asked to split the check, but communication was poor, and it took several attempts to clarify. It seemed as if our server was avoiding communication, it was very hard to reach her. She would just walk by extremely fast and not look up to finish or take our tab. At one point, the bill was handed back to us with major errors (two people charged nearly the same as the other six combined). After more delays, the server asked if we were going to fix it by Zelle or Venmo—which felt pretty unprofessional considering most places we experience can remember who ordered which meals and split more than just two ways with no issues- ours was only a couples meals separated from the rest. When she finally brought the corrected bill, she left out any itemized copy and quickly left again. By that point, we were too frustrated to continue waiting. So we just paid and left.

Overall: This place works well for a date night or smaller groups who want to enjoy the atmosphere and dessert menu. However, for larger parties, I would not recommend it. The staff did not seem prepared to handle groups of our size, and the service was far below expectations considering we spent nearly...
