BUYER BEWARE- Bad business with Nick & Katie Clark & Spotted Dog Yoga:
I feel scammed, and taken advantage of. (Nick and Katie, please don’t keep money that does not belong to you. You didn’t win the lottery, you are selling a service, and if you don’t provide the service, don’t keep the money. Just because you wrote it in a contract that you made up yourself, doesn’t mean you just get to keep a family‘s money. Yuck. I hope next time someone asks for their money back because they cannot complete a program for literally any reason, you give it to them.)
I was really led to believe that they were excited to share yoga practice & wellness with the community, and build friendships.
After expressing to Nick my concern about joining a virtual yoga training due to a torn hip labrum which had really derailed my yoga practice, he PROMISED ME THAT "THEY WERE THERE TO HELP AND THAT THEY WOULD WORK WITH ME ANY WAY THEY COULD." No mention of any cancellation policy, etc.
Unfortunately I quickly learned that because of this injury I just cannot rotate or bear weight on my hip, I need surgery, and I was not able to complete the training after one of six online sessions. I asked for some of my money back, but I was sent a screenshot of fine print that there are no refunds, and given back only
I feel very swindled and taken advantage of, as Nick and Katie Clark have kept my family's money although almost no services were rendered for an online yoga course. It is unethical, and horrible moral character.
He was very heavily recruiting my business through multiple calls and texts, and his only intention was to get me to sign up and pay $1300 for an online class, which he will not refund. He was willing to say anything to get me to sign up and transfer him money. (They ended paying themselves $750 for 1/6 of the online class time, 1/6 of the cost of the course would have been $208, so I fully disagree with the refunded amount.)
I would like save as many people as possible from falling for their Internet Yoga scam. They are part of a pyramid scheme, Baptist yoga courses, and I now see the insincerity in all of their videos, posts, and...
Read moreSpotted Dog Yoga is a wonderful Yoga studio. Folsom is so lucky to have a business like this. The owners and teachers genuinely care about you, and you always feel the love when you walk through the door. Advanced to newbie classes are available. The community they have created is just amazing, and you truly feel like you are a special part of what makes them so special. The studio is always spotless, there are showers, a place to change, and a large restroom. They have a ton of great apparel, and anything you would need to practice yoga. You can even rent mats and towels. The classes and workshops I have done have always been a great experience. Don’t miss their 40 Day workshops! During Covid, the Zoom classes and workshops continue to be top notch. They also offer paddle boarding and yoga paddle boarding adventures in summer. My husband and I did a SUP Dog paddle board class, and really enjoyed our time on the lake with everyone. Please support Spotted Dog Yoga, especially during these strange Covid times. Run in and grab a water bottle, a t-shirt, yoga blocks, blankets, a hat, lotion, mat, tumbler, yoga towel or gift certificate for some great classes. Sometimes they even sell paddle boards at a great price too. We all need to de-stress, and the classes really help. They have so many great gifts to choose from. Small businesses are really struggling right now. I cannot imagine Folsom without SDY! Give them a try, I know it will...
Read moreI have been practicing yoga for several years, and had contemplated completing a yoga teacher training program for a while. In July 2023, I found Spotted Dog Yoga by happenstance and discovered that the 200-hour AWAKEN yoga teacher training program was scheduled to start in about a week. Fast forward six months, and I have now completed the 200-hour AWAKEN yoga teacher training program and I am so happy that I did. The AWAKEN program is an incredibly empowering experience, which lends itself to so many opportunities to learn more about yourself, acknowledge and accept where you are, and create a tangible plan to help you set goals and reach them. The AWAKEN program is led by the owners of the yoga studio, Nick and Katie Clark, who are kind, funny, easygoing, helpful, and very knowledgeable. Throughout the program, you will meet and practice in person, and complete assignments like watching videos created by Nick and Katie, reading Baron Baptiste’s book “Being of Power,” journaling, and practice teaching. There is also an ability to attend the program remotely if you can’t make it to a session in person for some reason – pretty awesome. Not only did I learn about Baptiste yoga and how to teach it from the AWAKEN program, I also developed tools and skills that will allow me to communicate with intention and confidence, which I believe will benefit me in a myriad of settings. I highly recommend Spotted Dog Yoga and the...
