The waiters were nice enough. They were probably frazzled because it was busy. I'm wondering why it was busy though because the only good thing at this establishment is the complimentary garlic bread! I ordered a small portion of calamari, which was a large, unseasoned mess. There was enough garnish lettuce with the calamari to make a side salad! Then, after the waiter took back the finished plate of calamari (I was starving), my friends side salad came out. You would assume that it would be easier to make a side salad and therefore should come out sooner if not at the same time as the calamari but noooo, it came out 10 min after the calamari! (My friend is vegetarian, so she couldnt eat the calamari with me). The side salad was poorly done. By which I mean it was drenched in dressing. Unfortunately, it only gets worse. Then we got our main dishes (I ordered the combo calzone and my friend ordered a pasta with vegetables on top). My calzone was a greasy, watery mess...you couldnt pick it up without it falling apart. While my friends dish was just a subpar "italian" dish with microwaved vegetables on top. The price did not reflect the value of what we consumed. I started noticing other tables around us were just slowly pushing around there food too. Now some of you may be wondering why we did not tell the waiter any of these problems. That's because we were told that there was a time limit on where we had sat, and to be honest, it was not worth telling the waiter that it was a terrible way to start the new year. They would of had to move us to a different section and attempt to make a better dish, which I doubt is possible, or comped us. I dont like asking for free food even if it was terrible. The waiter were already frazzled enough (they forgot which checks go where). I very much doubt I will go back. I would advise anyone to not go as well. You'll end up paying good money for...
Read moreI meant to write this review while I was visiting family in California about a week ago. Me and my family were so excited to try this restaurant after visiting NorCal Aquarium. Upon arriving, we were told we couldn't sit inside, but not given a reason. It was pretty hot outside and we had three kids under three including two babies, but we agreed because we wanted to try this restaurant. We called my family to let them know we'd be sitting outside. I want to stress while we didn't care to sit inside the heat we did want to make it work. Again, my husband asked after seeing a ton of empty tables if the hosts were positive we couldn't have a table inside? The main host said no, but couldn't give us a reason besides "No, there isn't any tables available inside." I worked in the restaurant business for over a decade so again we tried to understand. But then after maybe 5+ minutes of agreeing to sitting outside, the host approaches us to let us know they won't be able to move the two tables together for us, but we could sit across from each other at different tables. From my understanding they said it would be a safety issue to move the tables together. However, they were already gonna sit us in the back of the patio so to me this made zero sense. We really wanted to enjoy a nice meal at your restaurant, but figured if this is how things operate that it was best to take our business elsewhere. I want to say I understand how reservations and things work because I've worked as a hostess, waitress and bartender but maybe more communication could've helped out. Anything besides "No, you can't sit inside + now we won't accommodate your party and move tables together after saying we would." truly...
Read moreI’m disappointed very disappointed actually to have to write this review however here it goes. I had been looking forward to dining here. I had tried to get a reservation in the recent past and had not called early enough which increased my desire to eventually get a reservation and try the restaurant. The atmosphere is barely average nothing special absolutely NO need to dress . Come as you are kinda place from gym attire to jeans and a tshirt. The wine list was a complete disappointment for an Italian restaurant the Italian wine section was disappointed as well as the California wine. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli and I really was looking forward to it. The ravioli was cold inside and tasted like a mass produced frozen product like something you can buy from the frozen food section at Costco. I can’t quite remember other dish ordered however it had jumbo prawns , linguine and mushrooms. The sauce was not that great. The prawns were a good size the dish was simply a massive pile of noodles. If you want parmigian cheese again nothing special just the usual sprinkle from the jar on the table. No fresh grated cheese here. I literally drove from Elk Grove to dine here and I could have went to Olive Garden for a better meal. In all reality I wouldn’t eat at Olive Garden either but this place is in the same category. I won’t be going back. It wasn’t worth the drive and the food was less than desirable. A complete fail.. I don’t like to write reviews like this but it really was that bad… if you are looking for a below average Italian restaurant this is...
