This review is solely about the manger of this location and his leadership skills, or lack of I should say. I drove to Waffle House after calling twice to place an order over the phone. After placing my order in person, I sat at the front counter to wait. I noticed passive aggressive behavior/bullying amongst the staff, especially towards the only white girl named Cassie. I noticed a young black girl defend Cassie for being attacked by the cooks after calling out the order. I noticed other employees ignoring the behavior. Clearly there was no lead in the kitchen at that time. Shortly after having causal conversations with Cassie, the manger of the stores sits next to me. Cassie introduced him to me as their manger. I kindly smiled and said “Goodmorning”, but he kept his head down to focus on his paperwork and ignored me. I told Cassie, “Oh, I see bossman is very busy”, to which she responded, “He’s acting like he’s busy, but he hears you”. Remind you, he is only sitting one chair next to me. After receiving my food, I kindly told everyone bye, including the manager still sitting at the countertop, but he still ignored me. As a customer witnessing the dysfunctional dynamics of the staff which an absent leader who has no leadership skills or attributes to run a smooth operation, I see this “manger”will be the demise of the wonderful establishment. He is a heavy set white male who wear glasses. He has a beard too. Waffle House, this manager will be the downfall of this establishment located in Forest Hill if a better leader is not placed in charge. Thank you all for your time and...
Read more6:34am. I had just finished waking up after talking to someone for two hours late into the night about antibiotics and a broken sink. All I wanted, was a good breakfast to start the day. Walked in and had what looked to be a shell shocked new Waffle House employee sitting at the bar look at me and just nod with an expressionless face. I’ve been coming here since the inception of this brand new Waffle House a few months ago. Every time has been an experience. From a cook who sings like he was on American Idol but lost to Kelly Clarkson all those years ago but now is here singing while I devour my scrabbled eggs. To a man taking a woman who is clearly on a first date with him to this said Waffle House and watching him swoon her with coffee and an all star plate. The epitome of this place is the service. Everyone is kind and courteous. Which is exemplified by the food. Today as I was walking out I saw the perfect representation of what this Waffle House is. Someone, at some point bought McDonald’s 200ft from this Waffle House. Drove by, saw the golden light of the Waffle House sign. Immediately hit the emergency brakes and made a U-turn into the parking lot. Got out of their vehicle and threw down their McDonald’s on the concrete and walked through the heavenly gates of this building because they knew the real deal was a Waffle House...
Read moreI understand this is a new location but there should be someone in management directing, leading so that customers have a good experience. This is not functional. I can’t help but observe how disorganized they are. No one has communication with each other, the employees are each in their own world, and there’s so many employees on the floor, just standing. Employees asking who has table 1, multiple times and no one responds.. idk why the managers hire incompetent people. Idk why the director allows this. They need to have an actual good manager on the floor directing these employees because everyone is lost and upset. Oh and I ordered a to go waffle and have yet to receive it. Been waiting for 15 mins. Also there’s a shift change and all 4 employees are spread out on different tables as their customers coming in waiting to be seated. So very unprofessional. Don’t wonder why business isn’t going good in 6 months especially if there’s no...
