La Playa | Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Fort Bragg

Pretty mediocre Mexican food for one. The chips were cold (not a huge deal on its own but authentic Mexican food usually has hot, freshly made chips), the guacamole was runny and obviously premade, not fresh. The sour cream was oddly runny too, I suspect some cheap substitute. Definitely not the best quality food. My wife and father also commented that their food was dry, used sub-par ingredients, and was generally overpriced for the quality.

I was going to give 3 stars until the waitress poured my water OVER her finger into my cup. As in, her finger was right in the middle of the water as she was pouring. Even she realized that she messed up, I saw her realize her mistake when she saw her finger was wet, but she just ignored it and hoped we wouldn't notice. Very unsanitary, unprofessional, and unappetizing...

I wouldn't go again.

Came to the resturant about 5:30 on a tuesday, the place was about 20% full and as I waited while my wife was in restroom i asked the seater if they had take out as we were tired and wanted to eat in motel. So wife returns from restroom we set at empty 2 seater table and started to look at menu. The seater then came up and asked us t get up and move to the entrance way of the place because they don't want people dirtying up the silverware on the table, which was one spoon. As I looked at the menu I thought it was very rude and decided not to patronize the place. Truthfully if we had patronized their resturant, we would have paid the same price as the eat in so would have justified washing a spoon. So just out of rudeness I would never eat at this place no matter if the food was...

The family that owns this is ridiculously rude. We were at the restaurant next door for breakfast - this restaurant is CLOSED at this time. The owner parked her car across the back of our vehicle almost touching to block us in. Apparently this is a thing they do because they don't like people parking there. When returning to our vehicle she came out and said, "there are signs everywhere". They're generic tow signs, they do not state who is allowed to park here. On principle, I would NEVER support this business or encourage others to do the same. They're absolute jerks. The restaurant is in the same parking lot as a hotel, I can only imagine how they treat the hotel patrons who might otherwise eat at...
