Edison's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Fort Collins

The first time I walked in this place it was so hot that I turned right around and said there's no way I'm waiting in line because it feels like it's 95° We tried again the next week and it was just as hot ugg. But... We stayed... I'm glad this place opened up and there are dairy free and gluten-free options. I tasted the lemon bar and it was overly sweet with no lemony tartness to counter balance. Then I tried the strawberry shortcake, and it was again overly sweet, and not a strong strawberry taste to counterbalance the sweetness in that one either . I did ended up getting a mini of the salted peanut butter cup, which was very good . My partner got the Oreo cookie, which he thought was good but nothing special.. even though it wasn't my jam, I am glad that a lot of people are loving it. I love that the taste they give you are good size so you get some of all of the flavor. Maybe pull the shades so it stays a little cooler. Great staff. Super service. Very very busy on a late Friday afternoon. My young grandson and I were looking forward to finding DF ice cream and GF for me. He had 2 scoops of melted chocolate flavor on a delicious waffle cone. he did say that the chocolate "tasted funny". I loved the DF ice cream. I had the melted chocolate and lemon. Deeeevine! But unfortunately for me I had a bad reaction. Day after still not feeling well so I went to the website to read about allergens. Bingo! Soy as well as the kitchen processing with other allergens. Oh well. It was good but unfortunately we cannot return. Do read up before you go just in case you have other allergies. Other than that, it is truly a welcoming place to go. We ordered the flight, which came with four generous scoops of ice cream of our choice. We tried German Chocolate Brownie, Sea Salt Peanut Butter Cup, Double Oreo, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. The Double Oreo was definitely my favorite, while the German Chocolate Brownie wasn’t quite my taste.

We also sampled the Salted Honey and Orange-Infused Olive Oil flavors—both were unique and delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful, and even though there was a line, it moved quickly. The shop was a bit warm inside, and since it’s a popular spot right now, some flavors were unavailable.

I really appreciated that the tasting spoons and water cups were reusable. I’d love to come back again, especially when more flavors...
