Okay, I'm going to go ahead and give it a right down the middle review here. And usually I wouldn't even bother leaving a less than favorable review, but in 40 years of going out to eat, I have NEVER left food on the table before today, even if it was only to take home to my dog. But I love my dog more than my last meal here, so I left it right there. Now, this is only the third time that I have been to this establishment, but after today I am pretty sure that it is also the last time. The first two times that I went, they had this special grilled panini with avocado on their specials board, and it was really very tasty. Nothing but good things to say about that panini. But when I went in today, that special was gone, so I just went with a basic combo of a pastrami on marbled rye and a cup of beef chili with cheese. Now I won't bore you with extended details here, but I left everything on the table because I got through about two bites of each item that ordered, and that sandwich, tasted like someone had just popped out it out of a wrapper from a gas station refrigerator. And that chili? You could almost actually taste the Hormel label from the can which I KNOW that it came from. You could definately taste the can itself. And as I said, I have NEVER left food on the table ANYWHERE that I have ever eaten before... until today. That wasn't even worth packing up for the dog. So I'm giving this place an average rating because I've now had two different meals there, and one was very good, and the other was very NOT. So just know going in that this place seems to have a very hit or very miss menu. Service was good and the staff has always been polite every time that I've been in. And they have free soft serve ice cream if...
Read moreQuite possibly the worst gluten free sandwich, I’ve ever had. A group of us out shopping for the morning, stopped at Jason’s deli for lunch. One group member had the muffalata sandwich which she claimed was close to authentic New Orleans as it gets, another had the BLT which she could almost find the one thin slice of tomato, but heaped with bacon. I ordered the managers special Grilled Cheese on gluten free (GF) bread and G.F tomato soup with chips. The sandwich arrived hidden in a go box and the soup in a go cup, no chips all arranged on a small plate. I was the only one in the group that received food this way, everyone else’s was served on a plate. The sandwich, exceptionally small, was rubbery and tough, there was nothing else on the sandwich, just two pieces of food service sliced cheese. The tomato soup wasn’t anything special with no basil flavor. I should have returned the food and demanded my money back. I’ve been gluten free for 25 years and g.f bread has come a long way in size, flavor and texture this was just very very disappointing, I left hungry. The restaurant is loud and not as clean as it should be. The self serve ice cream tasted off, the people delivering the food and bussing the tables looked...
Read moreWe have been ordering from Jason’s for years. The last 2 months it has gone downhill. This is the second time in a month they have gotten our order wrong. They forgot to add an entire meal both times. The last handful of times half of the workers have no idea what they’re doing or what’s on the menu. This was probably the worst time. They never rung us up for our salad (so obviously we never received it) and we purchased a kids Mac and cheese and apple juice. The Mac and cheese literally looks like it was eaten by someone else. The cheese was all melted on the sides and you could see the bottom of the bowl and looked like there was a big scoop taken out. We didn’t even give it to my daughter. We also didn’t get our apple juice. So we called and they basically couldn’t have a care in the world. When we explained the mac and cheese, they said “well you received a kids meal what did you expect?” We said something that hasn’t been eaten.. they said they would love to see the photos next time we come in… they weren’t even phased by missing the salad. We love Jason’s deli, but this is ridiculous lately. I don’t think the manager works at night so I’m curious if he knows what is happening...
