The food here was delicious. There were 7 of us girls having a bridal lunch right before the wedding. About a month before I had spoken with the general manager and made reservations and he had set a small area of the restaurant aside for us so we could do a private lunch. The day before I checked in to make sure everything was still ok and in order, he said yes. When we arrived they did have our reservation and did put us in the section set aside for our party, but there were other people in the area we had reserved. I didn't say anything because I figured once they finished up they would leave and everything would be OK. Well, the hosts continued to sit people in the section. It was a little disappointing that we were trying to have this amazing lunch for our friend who was about to head to the alter to get married and I had set everything up way ahead of time and they were not honoring the arrangements. Our server was very attentive at the beginning, but we had to hold off ordering for 10 minutes when she came because the bride was a few minutes late. I ended up just talking to the bride and getting her order, but our waitress didn't come back for quite awhile. We didn't even see her. By that time our friend had arrived and even more time had passed. We finally got to order our food. On any normal day we would not have cared how long the lunch would take, but we needed to make sure the bride would be ready on time! Our food took quite awhile to come out. None of us ordered anything complicated though. From the time we got there to the time we got our food it was an hour and 15 minutes. This was a Friday at noon. When we did get our orders it was delicious! Everything we all got was amazing. And it was worth the wait, but we didn't have time at that point to savor every bite. We loved the atmosphere. It's a cute, fun and relaxed atmosphere that offers great food. I'm glad we went because we all left feeling full, but also happy and ready for the rest of the day. I would say our hiccups were minor, yes...
Read moreWe've been here a few times and thought the food was great. This time however we had a horrible experience and will never return. Our food took a very long time to arrive and during that time our waitress went from attentive to completely avoiding our table. When the food finally came, the manager (owner?) brought it and made no apology for the wait. We're easy to please and understand things happen but were pretty rubbed by the fact that after waiting almost 40 min for our food no one even apologized. Our waitress never came by again to see if we needed anything else, how the food was, etc. She continued to avoid our table. Finally we flagged another waitress down and asked for to go boxes because our young kids were fried. She immediately helped us out and we got ready to leave. At this point the manager came over (to be clear we didn't ask to talk to him and didn't ask for anything off the bill - we just wanted to pay and get going). The manager took it upon himself to argue with me that he checked the ticket and we had waited only 16 min!?! Seriously?! We had watched an entire quarter of the Broncos game while waiting for our food. Obviously the waitress didn't put our ticket in when we ordered. My husband was bothered by the fact that rather than offer a simple 'sorry about the wait' the manager's approach was to argue with us that we were wrong. My husband went back to try to talk to him and the manager came outside, barked a very agressive and insincere apology in my face and the whole thing devolved to the manager yelling profanities at my husband in the doorway of the restaurant and telling us to never come back. All this in front of our two young kids and several people on the sidewalk. We have never been treated so horribly at a restaurant or by any supposedly professional...
Read moreThere I was at home sitting at my desk. It was early on a Sunday morning, my eyes still tired with sleep and the blinds in the room shut tight. I’ve immersed myself in a video game while I have a cup of coffee. I hear footsteps in the hallway, it’s my girlfriend. She is now awake; or rather I just now realize she is awake. One look at her and I can see that her mind is already assembling activities for the day. “Why are you sitting in a dungeon” she says as she opens the blinds. My eyes adjust, I finish my coffee and I realize that there is a world outside and my girlfriend has already joined it with a morning yoga class. A bit later as she returns I can see that she is about to commandeer me into her next activity of the day. Before she can, I stand up with a rousing hurrah and exclaim “Breakfast!” “Let’s go out to breakfast, somewhere new.” That was the first best decision I made that day. Urban Egg, a Daytime Eatery was the place. Great lively atmosphere, very friendly laid back staff, and fantastic food! Our server Alexandra was excellent. She knew the food, knew the menu and was very friendly and helpful. Anyone who loves Fort Collins, and loves breakfast will feel right at home here. I highly recommend this place. If you are wondering what my second and third best decisions were that day, they were the Organic Morning Margarita and an extra order of...
