Updated Aug 14 2023. We’re back! Love the Cupboard. Snagged some Snickerdoodle coffee, green tea, pasta, and more. Pics attached.
We've been supporting the Cupboard for many years. Why? Because through creativity, highest quality products, friendliest and most knowledgeable staff, the Cupboard continues to earn our business. This family owned business has long ago figured out what is required in the big box/digital age to thrive. The Cupboard is an Old Town Fort Collins staple. Without this wonderful business, Old Town would feel less special. We buy cookware, coffee, kitchen utensils, bar ware, specialty chocolates, specialty pastas, cutlery, unique and fun kitchen gadgets, and more. Need coffee makers? No problem. The finest German cutlery? No problem. Food mixers? You're covered. Gourmet coffees? Too many to count. If you need a new love in your life, visit the Cupboard.
UPDATE JUNE 2022 Stopped in this afternoon while in Old Town with friends for lunch. The four of us LOVE the Cupboard. Always and forever. It's almost a destination rather than a basic shopping trip. We never leave empty handed. My wife and I bought some needed ramekins as well as some groceries - namely specialty imported pastas (see my pic) and tube tomato paste, much better when cooking and the recipe calls for one TBSP and you don't want to open a 6 ounce can. We enjoyed sampling the coffee of the day - a mocha java. Yum. Still a solid 5 stars. HAPPY 5OTH...
Read moreIf I could give negative stars I would. If you have a certified service animal DON’T go to this store.
Yesterday was my third time making a trip to Fort Collins and wanting to specifically to go to this store for gifts. Every time my husband and I have gone into this store the staff have been rude about our service animal, and yesterday was no different. We walked into the store and made it less than 2 minutes when a clerk came up to us and rudely said “you can’t bring your dog in here.” (Our dog was wearing his Service Animal vest and was leashed, because we know this stores policies.) We informed her, he is a service animal, and not just a pet we were bringing in. She then says, “Oh, well service animals are allowed so…” then walked away.
I could tell this rude behavior bothered my husband but he said we could stay so I could shop. I told him that this was the last time I would tolerate him (a veteran) and his service animal being disrespected in this store. As we left the store the clerk pointed and whispered about us to another clerk, like we were on display. I feel like this behavior happening three times to us has shown the type of store and employees that it is. I will no longer shop in this store that doesn’t show respect to ALL of...

The last time I went to this such store, I was very young, but I did remember just how comforting, rustic, and historically significant this such store is, the store has personally not changed since my last visit and still remains the premier place to shop for your home goods and appliances.
My most recent visit was met with a similar feel, but new sections to adapt trends, the first floor was still home to plates, knives, cups, and coffeemakers, with the back of the store featuring home appliances and kitchen tools, but they also added portable cups from brands such as YETI and Hydro Flask to reflect interests in kitchenware in the 21st century.
The second floor, which I have rarely been to impressed me, the array of cooking, and history books was a reflection of my interests and further aspirations to cook in multiple cuisines, while honoring the histories behind the dishes we make.
Despite not being of the target demographic for the store, I would gladly come back to this store in the event I need a gift, or a kitchen...
