!!!FOOD ALLERGY ISSUES!!!
First Visit, waiter takes 20 minutes to even visit us and ask about drink orders. We ask for some white rice and are told by her the rice machine is broken. Takes another 10 to fifteen minutes to get our drinks then we never hear from her again until a long wait for the check to come. No refills or any other services from her.... And as we are waiting we see other tables being brought rice. We opted for no tip, well obviously due to her not only lying but doing next to nothing. And... she took it upon her self to add a substantial tip after we left. A call to the manager made it better.
Second visit about a year later. New waiter and all, and this time the waiter again puts no the effort into service. We didnt even get asked what we wanted to drink, my wife had to flag him down and tell him to get us water. We get tired of waiting and head for food. Bowls for food at the beginning of the food line are dirty and we have to pick through to find ones clean enough to use. We get to the table and have to ask a passing manager for drinks, because we notice when we return, they were never brought. We also ask for rice. He brings everything as asked, but we find hair in the rice. We tell the manager, he didn't seemed shocked our appalled. He does bring some new rice, and offered a small and quick sorry about that. We get no drink refills after this, even when the check is brought. We pay and when the waiter returns with check, we quickly notce it wasn't ours and our check and card were given to another table. The worst thing that happens this visit and what opted me to write the review was what happened to my wife and our infant. She is breast feeding our 2 month old, and as part of her diet to help with the infants diagnosed acid reflux disease she cannot have dairy. It causes our infant excruciating pain while feeding if my wife has had any dairy... for several days. When she was in line getting sauces she asked an employee about this so she can better avoid any issues. The employee said they were "pretty sure none of the sauces have any dairy, but if they have any allergen information it will say on the cards above them". So my wife makes her food, paying attention to what each sauce says on their display. Well as I'm writing this our daughters having a horrid night. She's hungry, but eating hurts her. My wife gets to wondering what's going on, what she could have eaten as she did her best to avoid this. She gets the inclination to look up her sauces on their website, and what do you know their Black Thai Peanut has dairy. So they have failed to mark this, their employess have no idea what they are doing and our infant is now screaming in excruciating pain and will be for a few days.
Needless to say both of our visits have been so much more than dissatisfying. And after this second one I felt it necessary to let others know how unclean, unattended and potentially dangerous to someone with allergies this place is. We are beyond upset especially after this visit we will never return. Spend your...
Read moreI have been fairly regular at Huhot in Fort Collins old town for the past 9-10 years. Wasn’t able to go for the past year or so due to COVID related restrictions and all. The facelift and all is good but for the first time in my tens of visits I was really disappointed. Never have I ever felt so unwelcome at this place before. I went in with a couple of friends. I know the restaurant closes at 8:00 PM. We were there at about 7:30. I have always done two rounds and that’s what I was aiming for. As I got to the grill with my bowls, they were already beginning to close everything down. The sauces were being taken away while we were still preparing our meal. We ate the first round of food and when we went back for the second, 3/4 of the grill was already turned off and they had started cleaning. Small part was still being used. However, if you have a grill 10 feet wide and 3/4th has heaters turned off, the remaining 1/4th is not going to do much of cooking. The food looked like what’s in the photos. Sauces and oil and broths were still pouring like a soup, the egg was hardly done, the rice was sticky and slightly undercooked. The first bowl was “barely cooked” and “poured” in the plate and second one was then added to the grill. By the time the second unintended soup and sticky fried rice was poured in the plate the first one was almost as cold as it could get. I was disappointed.
So, I called for the manager. And I expressed my dissatisfaction. I told them if it’s too late at 7:30 to enter for you to close at 8:00 you should lock your entrance. The manager said - we do. So I showed the food and said the food is barely cooked. I couldn’t finish eating uncooked noodles and rice and neither could my friends. The manager asked what can I do to help? I said, I expect a better experience in the future I guess. The manager says, okay. Thank you. And walks away. Completely cold. So on my way out I go to the ice cream machine and they don’t have any cone or bowls for the ice cream. At that point I didn’t have anything to really say. Just walked away extremely disappointed.
My two cents from my own experience working in restaurants. There is a reason it’s called the hospitality industry. I would much rather go and have the old decor with their old courteous staff than a better decor and less than satisfactory staff. Hope this was one bad experience and not a new norm at this place.
PS - 1 of the 2 stars is residue from my past good...
Read moreFirst trash experience I've had at this location. They've decided not to give you a fork with your cups when you first pay. Instead you have to get them after your food is cooked... which would have been fine, but the guy in front of me took the last one. I asked the lady up front after she finished ringing someone up and told me she'd get clean forks in just a moment... Then she proceeded to checkout 3 more groups while the girlfriend, her daughter, and I stood there waiting as our food got cold. I then asked one of the other employees walking past and he told me if I needed utensils to grab some chopsticks behind the the cashier. While I can certainly use chopsticks, they cannot. Also, I had a plate of sauce drenched crab... nearly impossible to pickup with chopsticks. After a total of ten minutes waiting I grabbed three sets of chopsticks because clearly nobody who works here cares. After the three of us struggled to eat with chopsticks for another 10 minutes, I hailed another employee walking past and asked for three forks. They never returned. After returning to line and getting a second bowl, I got to the end and there were two forks. I grabbed both and sat down so we could finally eat a bowl of hot food. When fished I purposely set the forks aside and stacked the plates so they could be taken and the forks left. Returned after our third bowl and they took the forks from the other side of the table where I put them. I walked back up to the grill to ask for forks AGAIN, this time the cashier was just on her phone playing some game and she stomped off like I was asking the world of her. Nah. I'm out. And honestly, I won't be back. Trash customer service. Also... the manager might wanna talk to their employees. There's clearly some drama going on. One employee told another one to F off at the grill and everytime one walked past our table they were stomping and talking smack about another employee. Fix yourselves. Also, what is this McDonald's? Why is your ice cream...
