Average , for such restrictions, and dress code. First we pulled up for the valet there was a car in front of us so we waited in our car few minutes then we decided to get out the . The Valet has a handheld computer and was trying to take a picture of the keys with the numbered keychain for the car in front , which never worked . He just told us don’t worry about it when you come out just tell me what your car . Then we get inside and we waiting for someone to approach us at the hostess stand and we waited then we walked around to see the nice bar and we waited then finally a nice girl came around. We we’re seated next to a floor to ceiling window facing south. Then we waited again and a nice young gentleman came and said I’m not your waiter but he got us our water, still four plates left on the table and there’s only two of us I left my napkin on my plate waiting for someone to come and shake it out and place it across my lap . This did not happen . Then our server Andrew who was very nice , so we thought this would turn around. We ordered glasses of wine and we’re in no hurry since we got there early 6 o’clock. Then Andrew brought us a beautiful basket of warm different types of breads and pads of butter which were not hard as a rock which was nice. But we thought so high end that they would have a little olive oil instead of butter. They brought three menus still four set ups on the table. The wine list was very nice. Some very reasonably priced and some $80 for a glass . Finally the other plates were removed and we went through all the menus the cocktail menu their regular menu pricey and then we went with the Crave menu . I’m a picky eater so I went with the Chopped Salad. But being a picky eater I had no blue cheese crumbles no tomatoes salad was very wet my fault for not getting dressing on the side my husband had the same as well. Then I ordered the Blackened Salmon fillet with truffle butter . I don’t eat mushrooms so I asked for it on the side. Andrew asked how we would like it cooked medium rare , medium , medium well I never heard that so I like that and I said medium well I like it dry . Hubby ordered the Seared Mahi with Lobster butter. For me my Salmon was seared crunchy on the top which was very nice but the salmon itself was a little mushy for me. Happens a manager came by and asked how her food was I must’ve made a face and he said no tell me and I said I asked for a dry was a bit mushy he did asked to take it away but I said no. I believe both dishes were dipped in butter was very rich and for such a high-end and restriction restaurant I don’t think we got the attention to detail. Can we have for dessert their signature personal one butter cake which came with a scoop of ice cream in Atlanta plus inside is a silver almost metal dish was there homemade whipped cream. For what we paid, I thought the bread and the whipping cream...
Read moreSo I want to start this review off by saying I understand that it was a holiday but I can not help the day I was born and that should not be an excuse as to why I didn't receive proper service. This was my very first time at Mastros and I will probably never be back. I booked this reservation on 12/03/23 for my 27th birthday dinner. I was called multiple times throughout the month confirming my reservations for Dec.31st @10Pm and every time being told that there will be changes to the policy due to my party size of 8 people so I continued to lower the amount of people in my reservation all while I keep being told by them that they overbooked themselves which shouldn't be my problem because I booked way in advance when they were not booked up to avoid this situation, Just to get there on the day of my reservation and we still had to wait almost 10 minutes in the lobby for them to seat us which, okay no problem. When we got to the table our table was not set up. We were missing glasses and plates from the table, They were pulling things from other tables nearby while we were standing there. We sat for at least 30 minutes and no one even attempted to introduce themselves we had to flag down a random worker to get the manager so we could make a complaint and by that point is when they said they will give us complimentary drinks which took another 30 minutes to get that and some bread on the table 15 minutes after that someone came to take our order never even introduced themselves. We DID NOT see anyone else for the rest of the night, We rang in the new year and still did not receive any food it was about 12:30AM when we decided to get up and leave, and this is how you know that no one was paying us any attention because how were we able to just leave and no one stopped us nor in the lobby did anyone stop us. Nor did anyone from the restaurant call to apologize or anything. My entire party went home starving, At that time of night on a holiday nothing was open. This situation really rubbed me the wrong way and ruined my birthday and I can't help but think it was a race issue being they were the only black people and all the whites were being served even people who came after us. The fact that we sat there for 2 whole hours and never received any food is really poor service. I'm only making this review now because it honestly is still bothersome and I deserve to be compensated for my time being wasted. As an establishment you should never sacrifice the experience and service for money. There is never any reason to overbook yourself to that extent that you can't...
Read moreLet's start with this: AVOID THIS PLACE!!! This was a very bad experience. I'll start with the good: the ambiance is incredible, but that's where the positives stop. We came to Mastro's to celebrate a very big birthday for my mother. The food was near inedible. We ordered bread (didn't come until we got our entrees), salad, steak, lobster, mashed potatoes and spinach. This was a very expensive meal needless to say. The waiter never came to re-fill our waters. We asked for extra thousand island dressing for one of the salads and a waiter said to us "you already have some on it" and the proceeded to provide a very very small extra bit of the dressing. Our sautéed spinach was garlic with a little bit of spinach which was largely inedible. Both the Ribeye steak ($75) and the New York Strip ($68) were entirely fat and seasoned poorly. We sent back the mashed potatoes because they were cold and then they offered to replace it. The new mashed potatoes were somehow worse than before and had the consistency of chunky soup. A good comparison is when your lunch lady scoops some gross slop and then puts it on your plate. After complaining about this along with other items on the meal to both the server, Patrick and the manager, we were told we would get the sides off the check. However that didn't occur the way it was offered either. We received our check with Patrick claiming all the mashed potatoes, spinach and bread were off the bill entirely. We were charged for one of the mashed potatoes. After asking Patrick why we were charged for the mashed potatoes we sent back and those we were promised to have taken off the check, he didn't apologize. He actually defended the fact that it was on the bill claiming "well we charged you for two because we got you a replacement for them." The most unbelievable part of this dinner was what we thought was a very nice gesture. They surprised us by telling us they were bringing out a piece of cheesecake for my moms birthday and though we thought it would be complementary since they didn’t ask us if we wanted it and it’s a birthday, they charged us $7 for it. What a classless move by what is supposed to be an upscale restaurant. The food was horrible, but unbelievably the service was somehow worse. Avoid this restaurant and if Patrick is your server, I wish you luck. Far too much money spent and far too important of a birthday to waste at Mastro's. This place deserves less than 1 star, I'm just not allowed to...
