I have mixed feelings about this location as well as the company. For a chain, the pizza is good but that's about the end of it.
During a review I wonder how to balance ratings with something I dislike about a whole company versus the specific satellite location. But my stance is that each location represents the company and vice versa. There is really no practical separation. And I have nothing but disdain for the fact that Papa John's has, in recent months, decided it'd be a great idea to nickel and dime people for the green seasoning packets that have always been free upon request. In the past when I've asked for these they just grab a fistful of them and hand them to me like it's nothing. The last time I went in they said each one costs 25 cents. That's nothing right? Wrong. Going from no cost to a dollar extra for four packets, which you'd easily need for sharing a large pizza, is just crazy. Do they charge for parmesan cheese packets? Nope. How about red pepper packets? Nope. So why are they charging for literally: "salt, spices, dehydrated garlic, wheat starch, dehydrated onion, soybean oil, parsley, extractives of paprika, natural flavors, not more than 2% silicon dioxide." They won't even tell you the full ingredient listing on their own website in the nutritional information section. You know, the one that is specifically designed to show that kind of info. Hmm. So where'd I get the ingredients? Off the back of one of their own packets from before they decided to charge for them.
So the last time I ordered one of the employees 'generously' gave me a free packet of seasoning when I appeared surprised at them suddenly charging for them. I wonder how long before they charge for parmesan cheese, red pepper, and tomato sauce for your pizza. I will never pay 25 cents for a tiny packet of salt and spices. I'd sooner make a whole batch of it for a fraction of the price myself. Which is exactly what I've done. Except I don't really want to do business with them anymore. Some people will say it's a small thing and I can see how they'd think so. But not to me. It's nickel and diming predatory nonsense over condiments that cost them next to nothing to make. There are plenty of other pizza companies out there, including local ones, that I'd rather support. I have no love for the owner of this company anyway. And to be clear, this is Papa John's corporate making the decision to charge for seasoning packets, not this specific location. I double checked on that.
Sometimes I will go in after having placed an online order and people and things in general seem to be a bit disorganized. I get that they're busy though and has something to do with it.
Regarding the location, it's kind of a pain to deal with if you're picking up which I usually do. You pull in and the parking spaces are pretty limited plus you're competing with the few spaces their own delivery drivers use as they are going in and out. There's enough room to squeeze a single vehicle through between the single row of parking and the side of the building. Despite the slight hassle none of this was my reason for knocking off a star.
Basically I used to go here twice a month and now I haven't been here in over a month. And I really have no incentive to go back anytime soon, although I will be using up the rest of my rewards points. I wonder how much that 25 cent packet of seasoning paid...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars, I would. Wow. I have no words about the horrific experience I just had with this Papa John’s location. I will be calling corporate tomorrow and reporting this location. Whoever was working on August 16, 2024 at around 7:30 to 8:30 PM, shame on you.
As a note, I know ordering from Uber Eats, that any issues must go through Uber directly, because it was ordered via a third-party. I’d like to emphasize that is wildly inconvenient. I also think that the employees use that as an excuse so that they don’t have to do anything when issues are made by them, which is exactly what happened here.
The manager that I spoke with was rude, extremely unprofessional, and even more unhelpful.
I ordered two pizzas —one large cheese, and one large pepperoni. The Uber Eats Delivery Driver only came with one of the two pizzas that I ordered. The driver was gracious enough to go back even though he shouldn’t have left without the full order to begin with, but that’s a story that I’m dealing with Uber Eats directly. When he went back they said that they could not help and told him to leave. Tell me why the box that I had clearly said two and papa John’s has a policy where if it leaves the location that’s it they won’t even consider looking into it more. Someone is lying but as the business, they shouldn’t have just brushed me away.
So I called and asked if they have a recording/camera to view this quality assurance issue because they’re saying that they gave it to the driver and the driver is saying that they only gave him one. I don’t know who to believe and quite frankly, I don’t care. It is the principal I am most concerned about because the manager couldn’t, wouldn’t and simply didn’t want to look into this more to rectify the situation. It’s simple take my phone number down and look into the cameras to see if your employees messed up or if the driver is lying. I am a very loyal customer to this particular location, but not anymore. I offered to go there myself and pick up the missing pie, but no troubleshooting options were provided from this lousy manager. I am very...
Read moreUPDATE!! This was not the store that I ordered from so I do apologize for writing the review below on the wrong site. I attempted to delete it but I am unable to. The store was the one on US1North Federal Hwy.
I placed an order today and Justin, the employee who took the order , could benefit from customer service training. This is why I am giving it 2 stars. I'll start by saying the positives- the pizza was hot and delicious! The driver was very courteous and apologetic of the delay in delivery and we gave him a generous tip because it really want his fault.
I placed the order around 10am and requested it be delivered by 11:30am. I was ordering 9 pizza pies and 4 soda gallons. Justin told me he had other orders and it would not be possible to deliver at 11:30. There was not even an effort on his part to say " we will try our best to have it delivered at that time but we have several orders and we don't guarantee it". Instead he kept on saying he could not do it. When I cued him on " can you at least tell me that you will try?" That's when he got the message and said " I will try". At 12:00 i called because we had not received the delivery. When I asked him about our order he said, " we made a mistake in 2 of the pizzas and they are in the oven". No apology...and when I asked him how long it would take he told me 5 more minutes. I explained that it was a scheduled lunch and we needed the delivery in time to which he replied with what appeared to be a sarcastic tone " as soon as I can hang up the phone I can get it to you". At that point I was very disappointed but there were people waiting for it and it had already been paid for but I don't think I could order from this store again. Customer service is essential and a simple apology goes a long way. Justin could well be a great employee but he needs training in how to manage patient dissatisfaction, especially when it's Papa Johns fault. I ordered at 10am. The store is across the street from the hospital I work at. It was plenty of time to...
