What a Terrific surprise for a Sunday evening last minute date night. All around a great experience. Food was amazing and the service was top tier, absolutely fantastic. The moment we walked up Alicia was on top of it. We had asked for a slight change to our original reservation and she was very patient, knowledgeable and therefore informative about how we should make our changes. She was also, noticeably, welcoming. A warm voice to follow towards our spot at the Hibachi grill. Next was our server Nicole, who’s attentiveness was clear. While it was obvious she was busy she still gave that noticeable pause to take a breathe and address us as if we were the only patrons in the dining room. Throughout the whole experience she was flawless, smooth, and able to anticipate our needs. I will poach her without hesitation if the need arises. Last, but farthest from least was Crystal. Crystal was entertaining to say the least. She made our evening jovial and honestly, unforgettable. The meal Crystal prepared was the best culinary experience we have had in quite a while. The food was just perfect and her anecdotes well timed, laughable, and overall enjoyable. With the constant issues plaguing the service industry we feel as though we stumbled upon a hidden gem. As professional yacht crew we realize the need for top tier customer experience even when the employees/ crew are nearing the end of shift and their own patience. This crew that works here is terrific. The enthusiasm was palpable. Had I not asked “When are you done with work for the day?” I would not have been able to tell they were all nearing end of shift. Hard workers are hard to come by. Let alone competent and enthusiastic ones. Please don’t underestimate or hold back any of the noted staff as they are the backbone of and the reason for the doors to a place like this being open. Congratulations on finding such a terrific and well mannered crew and we look forward to recommending and returning to The Red Door. Thank You to Alicia, Nicole, and Crystal for giving a weary Captain and his overworked Stewardess the best evening out in quite...
Read moreThe bathroom smelled like a sewer the table we sat at was dirty with food crumbs on the chair and floor and table. The plates on the table had strains of hair on them. The chairs were greasy and needed to be wiped off the soup tased old and gritty like it was the last of the bottom of the pot. Hon the chef & mngr Richard was RUDE & HORRIBLE with garbage customer service! He gave me & my husband kid size portions. When we requested & was paying for extra food, he gave the other 2 ppl that were sitting at the table the wrong proportion & refused to acknowledge it when we brought it to his attention he ignored us we’ve been to this establishment before we weren’t trying to get anything free, Hon was being LAZY, rushing and inattentive because he was ready to go they closed at 11 we got there at 9:50pm. The food was not cooked properly. He threw half of our fillet & chicken down the hole on the grill when we asked Richard the Mngr to remove the one meal that my husband didn’t eat as he loss his appetite due to the disappointing service Richard was rude & refused and called the police on us ONLY for the police to side with us and he ended up doing exactly what we asked him to do in the FIRST PLACE remove the ONE meal out of the TWO kid size portions that they served us. That ONE MEAL was untouched and my husband told HON he didn’t want it. We were not rude to any of the staff, Hon or Richard but even after the police we’re unnecessarily called like we were some outrageous people we still tipped our waiter despite the manger Richard not wanting to acknowledge the mess up from his words “his family” he had no customer service whatsoever. Even the police officers stated after looking at the food they wouldn’t pay for it. We frequent Hibachi restaurants and we are familiar with how Hibachi is portioned and the order of operations. I will no longer patronize this business and have informed family, friends and business partners NOT to eat here!! Check out my review on TIKTOK! RICHARD and HON NEEDS...
Read moreI called this place at noon on my birthday to make a reservation for 5 people at 8 pm the same night. It was no problem. They asked if I wanted hibachi dinner or to sit at normal table. I requested hibachi. They asked if I was celebrating anything special. I told them it was my birthday. I drove 45 minutes from Miami to meet my family (who also drive 45 minutes from west palm) for my birthday dinner and arrived at 8 pm. When I arrived and told the host that I had a reservation for 8 pm, he said great I’ll get you set up, you can all wait at the high table. So we go to the sticky high table and wait. Then 5 minutes later another server (not the hostess who I’d just spoken to) comes by and asks if we know how long we’d be waiting. Turns out, this place only has ONE hibachi table, and, even though I had a reservation (and they specifically asked if I wanted hibachi AND they asked if it was my birthday), they didn’t actually reserve any spaces at the single hibachi table for my reserved birthday dinner. Instead they gave my seats away to people without reservations and expected me and my family to wait (and of course order and pay for appetizers) until the hibachi dinner that had JUST started fully finished before we could sit. The second server said it’d be about a 30 min wait (quite a while when you already made a reservation and the crowd sitting at the table you’d reserved DONT have reservations themselves) but anyone who’s been to a hibachi place before knows that there is NO way a whole table who JUST ordered their own meals would watch their meal be cooked, eat it, pay, leave, and have the restaurant clean up after them in 30 minutes. The hosts and restaurant acted as if they’d done nothing wrong. Needless to say we found another overpriced place to eat, and my birthday night wasn’t the night I’d hoped for. All in all, wildly unprofessional and not worth making a reservation at this place because they won’t actually reserve anything for you, even if it’s your birthday (and they know it). Find...
