I’m usually a great judge of restaurants when I’m traveling and found this place with a decent amount of positive reviews, but I was less than impressed. Let me start with the positives. First and foremost, our waitress (whose name I sadly can’t remember) was fantastic. I honestly couldn’t say enough good things about her if I tried. She was friendly and attentive, which is hard to come by in restaurants these days. Second, the place had a nice vibe (but can see how the reviews of “frat guys” applied) and was in a great location in DT Fort Lauderdale. Lastly, I could eat an entire bowl of the Fried Brussels Sprouts app every night for the rest of my life and be happy. However, the taco special was disappointing. The brisket and the mahi were both so dry I couldn’t even eat the taco and the burger taco lacked any flavor whatsoever. The only star-saving taco was the Buffalo chicken. Now yes, I should have assumed tacos from an American restaurant/bar wouldn’t be great. That was certainly a mistake on my part. I also ordered a Cadillac Margarita. First I had to explain to the girl what it was and then I was charged $18.50 for it. I know it’s top shelf and an average drink price in some areas, but just interesting the way they charged - a regular margarita $10 and then $8.50 for the additional liquors (patron + grand marnier). But the Tuesday patron marg was $8 🤔

I came for an event and left feeling good. Yes! It is that type of fun place. The staff was friendly and good. The lady bartender is phenomenal. She was a pleasure to watch make drinks. Like something from a show, a very gifted person. The restaurant was easy to find. It is close to the corner of a street. Right behind the place, there is a convenient meter parking lot. You also have other parking options around here. The area does get crowded. The inside is nice and fun. I found the drinks good and the bites excellent. I loved the pan-seared scallops. It tasted good. Another dish I liked was the southwestern chicken bowl. I could not get enough. The flavors were excellent. To my happy surprise, this place has really good desserts. The red velvet cake and bread pudding omg a must try. They also had some new holiday drinks that we all enjoyed very much. They looked cute and tasted great. I liked the place and left thinking that I was glad I came out and checked it out. This place is perfect for hanging out.

Our first time trying American Social, we made a reservation totally forgetting that it was St. Patty's Day and we were thankful, we had a 1045 reservation and got there about 1035, and they had an hour and a half wait list. We were sat right away and Katie our server came over right seat away. We started out with the loaded guacamole and soft pretzels with beer cheese. The loaded guacamole had plenty of filling, corn, bacon, cheese and black beans. It hit every taste bud correctly. The soft pretzels were warm, crusty and soft. Served with a creamy warm beer cheese it was the perfect dip. We then split the BLAT Chicken sandwiche and we were so happy we did. It was huge! Served fresh and juicy the chicken was cooked to perfection with avacado, a sunny side up egg, bacon, lettuce, tomato and onions. On a softly toasted brioche bun and with a hot side of french fries. A great brunch. Will love to come back and try for dinner.

I had the worst experience yesterday and I will never be coming back to this unprofessional establishment. I came with some friends super excited to watch the game there. I walk in and put my name down for six people with an hour wait. My group dispersed within the restaurant waiting for our table to be ready. I sat down next to the table that we were waiting to be cleaned and ordered food and a drink with the same server that would be assigned to the big table. Our table was ready and I scoot over to the table and my server tells me I can’t sit there because not enough people are going to eat. Two other people were cashing out their drinks with another server so that they could order food at the table. I had ordered a burger, fries, and a drink with that server and all she had to do was transfer the check for that table since she was the same server for both tables. She proceeds to tell me that after a certain time that table changes into bottle service only and since we weren’t interested in bottle service we couldn’t sit there. I go to explain that we are still going to buy more food and drinks but she refuses to let us sit there. My group was six and it turned into four so I said okay since the table was for six I understood that it wasn’t fair but I was still disappointed. The table remained empty for about thirty minutes and then they sit four people at the table. I was so confused that they let four people sit there when they told me that our four people couldn’t sit there??? I get up to talk to the host and she tells me that they were going to order more food than we were and that it was only fair to the server so she could make more money. If the table hadn’t even ordered food, how did they know they were going to order more food than us if we never got the chance to sit down??? On my way back to sit down my friend tells me that one of the girls they sat down at what was suppose to be our table started eating my fries while I was talking to the host. A random girl started eating the food off of my plate!!!! I know anyone would have a problem with that because who does that to someone else’s food. The table starts laughing at us saying it was a joke and that they were “hammered” they were previously sitting at the bar so what I’m gathering is that they over served those people to the point that they thought it appropriate to eat off of other people’s plates. I still had half of my food left but I couldn’t touch it after that because who knows where those people’s hands have been. The server “Kennedy” (short brunette girl) not sure if that’s her real name because the host magically couldn’t remember her name did not care and was extremely rude. Why would she tell us that we had to get bottle service for that table and then proceed to sit those people down and not require them to do bottle service. Worst experience I’ve ever had at...

Happy Hour on a Thursday first time customer. Properly and cheerfully greeted by hostess who I asked for a bar seat. “Anywhere you like with a smile”

From there it’s all downhill. I sat at the bar. The ambiance was corporate McRestaurant with 98% middle aged bro dudes as clientele. One female bartender for the large bar. I was lucky that she asked for my order quickly with a friendly attitude. She took my drink order however forgot it. Approximately 5-10 minutes later we made eye contact and she realized she did not serve the beer. No worries as she was working the huge bar alone and it happens. I ordered a happy hour chicken Quesadilla which arrived in a reasonable time however did not look appetizing. The guacamole topping was nearly black from being over ripe. I tried a couple of bites of the quesadilla which were awful. I pushed the full plate to the service edge of the bar waiting to be asked “how was the food” which never happened. While waiting I opened the quesadilla to see it had dark meat chicken. (gross!) I noticed a male bartender showed up. I finished my beer after about 15 minutes. Never asked if I wanted anything else nor collecting food, or my card from the glass containing the check. I became tired of waiting and held my card in my hand in easy sight of the staff. When that didn’t work I gently waived the card in sight of the male bartender who closed out my check. I did not feel a tip was in order however I tipped. If I had paid full price for the food at near $20 I would have sent it back however for the happy hour price of $10 it was not worth the drama as I had a sense this place would be difficult. After reading the high percentage of negative reviews and how customers who voice concerns are treated I’m really glad I didn’t. Establishments in the area get allot of abusive customers. It’s hard to find train and retain good staff. That’s no excuse for bad food & service to polite well dressed adult customers hoping to enjoy a visit. I will not visit the establishment again nor...

Our Server Maria M. was absolutely delightful! She promptly greeted us and immediately brought our table waters and menus. She then checked on us to see if we were ready to order within 5 minutes. Our food was cooked to its description, was very tasty, and came out expeditiously. Once she brought our food out, she then checked on us again within a couple of minutes to ensure everything came out to our liking. Top notch service! She was very attentive to any drinks that needed replenishing as well, which is highly surprising given the typical Florida service provided, so we were very pleasantly pleased. Maria M. was courteous, professional, welcoming, and overall professional and in an awesome mood to be at work! I also had the pleasure of meeting the bar manager of the establishment, Jose. He, too, was exceptional! Professionally dressed, courteous, and welcoming. He even dropped by a time or two to ensure we were enjoying ourselves, the atmosphere, and the meal, and to let him know if there was anything he could do for us to make our experience even more pleasant. The staff overall provided an excellent service and atmosphere, along with the overall restaurant providing for a pleasant night out. I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try on your Las Olas excursion, as it provides fairly priced quality food, excellent service, and very clean and sanitary bathrooms. Austin, one of the bartenders, was also awesome. Providing superior service in a time-efficent fashion. I honestly can not say a single negative place about this place. Lastly, I've also noticed they have a location in Boca Raton and a few other places. I've personally dined at the Boca location and had an equally amazing experience. Be sure to check out either location if you're ever in the area!

Please give this review a thumbs up if you found...
