To start, we actually intended to eat at a different restaurant (two doors down) that had not yet opened for dinner. This was not our first visit to Capital Grille though. Do not be fooled by the name which makes it sound more like a casual burger joint. Inside, this place has a lot of dark toned wood paneling and portraits giving the place a feel of a rich men's club in the early 1900's. It is located in a mall so I noticed there are casual shoppers dinning during lunch. Not sure what the dress is during dinner though. The food. I ordered the lobster which was huge. It practically melted in my mouth. Cooked to perfection! Photo submitted. My husband ordered a steak (do not remember which one) and he said it was like butter. Perfection again! Photo submitted. For sides (everything is al a carte) we ordered au gratin potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. Both were excellent. Photos submitted. The service. The service was outstanding, the server always showed up just at the right time. Not too much or too little and always just when she was needed. At one point my husband mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary so a little later she showed up with a rose for our table. Nice touch. But the best example of the level of service was how a slight wait was managed. It did seem that the server disappeared for awhile. A long while. I guess the Manager noticed us looking around for her so he came over. Very nice man. He apologized and said she would be right over and he said he would comp a round of drinks. The "Icing". We ordered our desserts to go because we could not even finish our meals however the server came out with a very nice anniversary surprise. I submitted a photo for this also but briefly, it was a plate that said "Happy Anniversary" with a small sample of each of the desserts we ordered to go. Please see the photo because it was beautiful and so nice. It was a very nice dining experience.

Another stomp at the Capital Grill at the Galleria Mall last night to celebrate a friends birthday and another memorable dinner evening (2430 E. Commercial BL, Ft Laud). The place was full. All the ladies were dressed to the nines, a pageantry of summer haute couture, but the men were more casually sporty, yet making sure that their diamond studded Rolexes’ bling would be noticed by all. Everything was excellent except the French onion soup that was uninspiring, bland, and the top layer of Gruyère was thin and barely melted. The other appetizers were: a wedge lettuce topped with blue cheese dressing and large morsels of thick smoked bacon; and, a shrimp cocktail loaded with 5 XL shrimps. Our entrées were: a generous portion of 4 double-bone meaty lamb chops with a mint-honey crust with under a wine-shallot jus, prepared to perfection; a bone-in Kona crusted (coffee rubbed) dry-aged NY strip covered with shallot butter sauce, prepared medium-rate providing a vigorous flavor; and, the roasted chicken breast enveloped in a crisp outer layer texture, yet moist and tender (the mushroom and Parmesan risotto side was substituted for garlic green beans). The table-sharing accoutrements were boats of: cream spinach, smooth and tasty; au-gratin potatoes in a blend of cheeses – delicious but the cheese sauce was way too saucy for my liking); and Brussels sprouts sautéed in a spicy infusion to elevate its flavor, then broiled for crispy texture . We were too full for dessert, but they brought a complimentary b-day platter with 2 mini cake samples (chocolate mousse cake and crème brûlée). Excellent! (Because of the meh soup, I would have given this review 4.5 stars but I’m going for 5. I’ve had that soup many times before and it always was excellent, but because the soup was bland yesterday, maybe it was only yesterday. The food was About $75/person – not including alcoholic drinks, tax, and gratuity).

Steeped in excellence, Capital Grille is a veritable “Foodie’s” delight… if you’re on a “budget” or aren’t interested (or willing) to pay over $100. per person for dinner, this is probably not the dining experience you’re looking for. That said… I visited for a business dinner & ordered the filet, it was a superior cut & cooked perfectly! One of the best steaks I’ve ever had! Not to be outdone, the mushrooms held their own with bold, umami flavors. (We’d begun with a cup of “chunky” Lobster Bisque Soup, Caprese, & Beet Salad - the latter - better on the palate than the eyes…). With the meals, added the truffle fries, asparagus and brussels sprouts; magnificent!! F planner had the decadent & luxurious double lobster tails; wowzers! Ended the meal with the “coconut pie” which is more of a tart, had less filling than anticipated but was delicious nonetheless (the cookie “garnish” was pretty but I would’ve preferred a more traditional approach on this particular dessert). Otherwise, these chefs KNOW what they’re doing & take great pride in their work. 🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻 The server Richard was very attentive & even used a “crumber” tool to clean scattered bread crumbs from the table which is an attention to detail I haven’t experienced in SoFlo in 13 years so well executed! Service was indisputably 5 Star throughout. (And, like this evening, I always appreciate when the Dining Room Manager makes a brief stop by the table to assure everyone is happy.) I did find the decor somewhat “stodgy” but not pretentious, so “okay.” Our server had me laughing so I’m going with it. (Of course the dining room was pristine.) Will DEFINITELY return! 🙌 🤩

My wife and I decided to dine at Capital Grill prior to a musical we had tickets for at the Au-Rene Theater at Broward Center For The Performing Arts. We parked in the Galleria garage attached to the same building as Capital Grill which was about a 2 minute walk to the restaurant that we had a 5:30pm reservation for. We were seated almost immediately and then were pleasantly greeted by several staff members and our servers, Miguel and Claudio. They were the perfect duo and their service was impeccable! Let me preface all staff were great but I have to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Miguel. He was so personable, provided us with his recommendations and boy are we glad we listened to him. Now for the food, we tried the special, a 16oz filet, had the beet salad and shared the brussel sprouts and some cocktails (carbonation in my drink was perfect). For dessert we had the coconut creme pie, flourless chocolate cake and cappuccinos, everything was amazing! Although there is another Capital Grill much closer to our home, we will dine at the Ft.Lauderdale location just to be served and re-connect with Miguel and Claudio. Thank you for the excellent dining experience! Aaron & Shannon Martin

My wife and I have been coming to the Capital Grill for about 1/3 of a century. This particular Capital Grill is the best we have ever been to in all our travels, significantly better than the closer Boca Raton for us. Traveling to the Galleria Mall and lunch at The Capital is a wonderful treat. The Calamari is the best anywhere we have ever eaten in the USA & Europe. You will never eat calamari at another restaurant or another Capital Grill (see the photo)! We love everything, but they have the best meat, see the rare burger photo that you cannot get anywhere rare and safe like the Capital. Management and all servers and support staff are warm, smiling in a friendly upscale environment. Many claim it is expensive, but they have the best lunch choices less than a not so charming local buffets that are not clean. The Capital Grill is immaculate, kitchen is open for all to see, dignified, warm, large roomy tables, the bathrooms are the best in the area and if you want wine they have a superb selection (see photo). The Capital is a great spot for a date. It is quiet, cozy and dignified all in a great package. Moreover, you can also eat outside if that is your preference.

We dined here to celebrate hubby's birthday with a couple of friends, and had a good experience. There was a bit of a snafu with the wine glasses as one of them didn't look very clean when they brought it to the table; however, it was resolved pretty quickly. I ordered the Shrimp Cocktail for my appetizer, and the 10oz Filet for my main course. For the Filet, at the recommendation of one of our friends, I added the Porcini Balsamic Rub. For the sides, we ordered the Au Gratin Potatoes and the Brussels Sprouts. The food came out in a decent amount of time. My filet was cooked perfectly on one side, but on the other side, was a bit too rare for me; however, the Porcini Balsamic Rub was amazing! For dessert, we had the Cheesecake and the Coconut Cream Pie. Those were both so delicious! Overall, this is a good restaurant. The wait staff were attentive without being intrusive, and the food was good. We sat out on the patio, and that was nice...especially since it was a mild evening weather-wise. Parking is valet (and there's no validating anymore). I would visit again!
