UPDATE 10/31/25 I recently had the pleasure of dining at Capitol Grille for lunch, and it was another delightful experience overall. I ordered the Butternut Squash Bisque topped with Curried Apples, which was a warming, delicious choice for the season. The bisque was rich and creamy, perfectly complemented by the sweetness of the curried apples. For my main course, I indulged in the Dry Aged NY Strip Steak Frites served with Aji Verde and Duck Fat Fries. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and bursting with flavor, while the fries were crispy and addictive.

To accompany my meal, I treated myself to a dirty martini, which was expertly crafted. My friend opted for a cheeseburger, paired with a glass of Johnny Walker Black, and they thoroughly enjoyed their selection too.

Our server, Lauren, deserves a special mention. She was incredibly professional, sweet, and attentive, even amidst the bustling atmosphere of the restaurant. Her service truly enhanced our experience.

The bread served at Capitol Grille is always a highlight for me, and I couldn't resist ordering a pumpernickel loaf to take home.

However, I do have a recurring concern, which I previously noted in a review seven months ago. (Dust still there ) While the food and service remain exceptional, the cleanliness of the seating area in the back bar could use some attention. There was noticeable dust accumulating, which detracts from the otherwise polished ambiance. It’s a simple fix that would greatly improve the overall dining experience. Unfortunately, my previous feedback went unanswered, which is disappointing.

In summary, Capitol Grille continues to impress with its delicious food, outstanding service, and welcoming atmosphere. Just a little more attention to cleanliness would elevate the experience even further. I look forward to my next visit!

FIRST REVIEW:I recently visited Capital Grille in the Galleria Mall in Fort Lauderdale for a late lunch, and my experience was a mix of highs and lows. I opted to sit in the bar area, located in a back corner, which unfortunately turned out to be less than ideal due to cleanliness issues. The backs of the seats were covered in dust, which was surprising and disappointing for a restaurant that prides itself on quality service and ambiance, especially when serving food.

On the positive side, my meal was undeniably delicious. The flavors and presentation were spot on, and I truly enjoyed every bite. However, my experience was marred by some service hiccups. My waitress forgot to order my drink, leading to a frustrating 30-minute wait while the table next to mine received multiple drink orders. This oversight was particularly disappointing given the restaurant's reputation for attentive service.

Adding to the frustration, my friend's order of a medium-well burger came out completely burnt, which is unacceptable in any dining establishment. While I understand that even the best restaurants can have off days, the combination of dust and service issues left a sour note on an otherwise promising meal.

In summary, while the food at Capital Grille is commendable, the lack of cleanliness and service inconsistencies overshadowed the experience. I hope they address these issues to ensure a better dining experience for...

**Edit: The manager Stephanie reached out after our experience and made everything right. She was very apologetic and mentioned that our service was not typical and offered for us to come back. I appreciate this gesture, and so I changed my rating.

This was our first time ever at a Capital Grille and we were excited to try because we had a family member highly recommend it to us. The food was great, we got filets, mac and cheese, truffle fries, and French onion soup. Nothing to complain about there. However, our server was Miguel and he did not do a good job at all. They weren't busy when we went (our reservation was at 6pm) but our server only showed up to our table about 3 times the whole night. I wasn't offered any crust, butters, or freshly cracked pepper for my steak like I've been told is standard at Capital Grille. After we got our food, he never came over to ask how everything was. Luckily, everything was fine, but as a server it is imperative (especially when serving steaks in an upscale environment) to check on your tables. I know this because I am a server. After we finished our meals, he only showed up to ask if we wanted dessert and walked away without giving us a menu. Once we finally got a menu and were able to decide, I tried to ask a question and he spoke over me, answering a completely different question. At the end of the experience, after our card had been run, our server came back once more, but all he said was "Don't forget your card." There was no thank you, or have a nice night, or any final greeting of the sort. This was the icing on the cake for me because the least you can do for someone tipping you is say thanks. All in all, the service (especially for a first time guest) was enough not to make me want to pay that much for a meal here in the future. Upscale restaurants should prioritize great service AND great food, because part of what we are paying is a tip for service. If that is not good, then even amazing food is not enough to get someone...

A little behind in leaving a review but I have to say this is a 5 star place. A little expensive but definitely worth it. My partner took me there for my birthday on May 9th. We always celebrate at hard rock casino for a few days and eat at the steakhouse there. Decided to leave for dinner this time. We had reservations at 6 and they got us seated right away. The host wished me a happy birthday as soon as we checked in, he put on the reservation, it was my bday. Seated us and table was nicely decorated and a bday card on the table. Our waiter, Shakkar was awesome. Greeted us right away and got us a drink. We ordered our appetizers, I had the smoked bacon, cooked and seasoned perfectly and he got lobster bisque and said it was out of this world. We both had ceasar salads, I had the 10 oz filet , cooked perfectly med rare and he had the 10oz filet Oscar and his was cooked perfectly also. We had Brussel sprouts with ham in it and it was great. We also shared the Au gratin potatoes. They gave us a celebration platter with happy birthday wrote on it and 2 kinds of cheesecake with a glass of champagne to toast. We both still had to have creme Brule, he took a bite of the cheesecake and said it was very good. The manager and another employee also came over to the table to wish me a happy bday. We had a very great time. I only have 1 suggestion, we will probably be back for his bday in November, I would love to see banana foster on the menu. Just a shout out to Shakkar, for being a great waiter. You were awesome. We didn't take any pics because I said we are on our phones too much and I didn't want that in the restaurant. Dinner is a time to talk about your day. I did save a couple bites of my filet for my dog because she was in our suite at hard rock alone. Thank you Capital Grille for a great bday dinner. We live in tampa but come over your way twice a year. We will be back. Thanks...

To start, we actually intended to eat at a different restaurant (two doors down) that had not yet opened for dinner. This was not our first visit to Capital Grille though. Do not be fooled by the name which makes it sound more like a casual burger joint. Inside, this place has a lot of dark toned wood paneling and portraits giving the place a feel of a rich men's club in the early 1900's. It is located in a mall so I noticed there are casual shoppers dinning during lunch. Not sure what the dress is during dinner though. The food. I ordered the lobster which was huge. It practically melted in my mouth. Cooked to perfection! Photo submitted. My husband ordered a steak (do not remember which one) and he said it was like butter. Perfection again! Photo submitted. For sides (everything is al a carte) we ordered au gratin potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. Both were excellent. Photos submitted. The service. The service was outstanding, the server always showed up just at the right time. Not too much or too little and always just when she was needed. At one point my husband mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary so a little later she showed up with a rose for our table. Nice touch. But the best example of the level of service was how a slight wait was managed. It did seem that the server disappeared for awhile. A long while. I guess the Manager noticed us looking around for her so he came over. Very nice man. He apologized and said she would be right over and he said he would comp a round of drinks. The "Icing". We ordered our desserts to go because we could not even finish our meals however the server came out with a very nice anniversary surprise. I submitted a photo for this also but briefly, it was a plate that said "Happy Anniversary" with a small sample of each of the desserts we ordered to go. Please see the photo because it was beautiful and so nice. It was a very nice dining experience.

Another stomp at the Capital Grill at the Galleria Mall last night to celebrate a friends birthday and another memorable dinner evening (2430 E. Commercial BL, Ft Laud). The place was full. All the ladies were dressed to the nines, a pageantry of summer haute couture, but the men were more casually sporty, yet making sure that their diamond studded Rolexes’ bling would be noticed by all. Everything was excellent except the French onion soup that was uninspiring, bland, and the top layer of Gruyère was thin and barely melted. The other appetizers were: a wedge lettuce topped with blue cheese dressing and large morsels of thick smoked bacon; and, a shrimp cocktail loaded with 5 XL shrimps. Our entrées were: a generous portion of 4 double-bone meaty lamb chops with a mint-honey crust with under a wine-shallot jus, prepared to perfection; a bone-in Kona crusted (coffee rubbed) dry-aged NY strip covered with shallot butter sauce, prepared medium-rate providing a vigorous flavor; and, the roasted chicken breast enveloped in a crisp outer layer texture, yet moist and tender (the mushroom and Parmesan risotto side was substituted for garlic green beans). The table-sharing accoutrements were boats of: cream spinach, smooth and tasty; au-gratin potatoes in a blend of cheeses – delicious but the cheese sauce was way too saucy for my liking); and Brussels sprouts sautéed in a spicy infusion to elevate its flavor, then broiled for crispy texture . We were too full for dessert, but they brought a complimentary b-day platter with 2 mini cake samples (chocolate mousse cake and crème brûlée). Excellent! (Because of the meh soup, I would have given this review 4.5 stars but I’m going for 5. I’ve had that soup many times before and it always was excellent, but because the soup was bland yesterday, maybe it was only yesterday. The food was About $75/person – not including alcoholic drinks, tax, and gratuity).
