I have to give this hotel a 3 based on it being a Hilton brand...
The hotel is in a great location.. the lobby of the hotel is nice... the front desk and the valet staff were friendly.
The lobby offered necessities for sale in a boutique style setting
The lobby looked very clean and I really liked how the bar was in the front but to the side.. high seeking window looking outside.
The outside bar was being constructed but the look was in deed open. So, that was nice..
Having such a great assess to the inter costal was a plus; easy access to the water taxi to take you to some of the most popular spots and restaurants via water.
The views are amazing in the hotel room as well as while using the outdoor amenities:
Now down to the bedroom. I paid for a suite with an intercostal water view. The view was amazing. I was in the 10th floor; I'll post pictures.
The rooms were spacious; If you are looking for a hotel room that will give you space and feel like a condo this is definitely the place.
What I did not like: Hilton did not upkeep the hotel room. There were rust stains all over the rooms the Curtain rode, the emergency water that's in the ceiling... the coffee cups were dirty. The cleaning lady definitely did not wash them out; I feel like there are certain things that should be a must when cleaning the rooms; the sheets, bathroom, garbage and the utensils..how could you miss the utensils and cups? Now I have to wonder if the sheets were really changed.. was the shower and bath room really cleaned with disinfectant soap? The front door had this strange breakage; it looked like rats ate half of the lower door. I forgot to take pictures of the door.
None of the usb chargers worked that were on each lamp in the room and living room. There were about 4 lamps and neither of the usb charges worked..
The big screen TV reminded me of the tv back in the early 2000s. The quality was really bad with low pixel and lines in the screen; the furniture was very out dated;
I just don't feel like this was a Hilton brand; I expected more.. I am local and this was a staycation for me. I wanted a day on the water and I chose this location. I had my eye on the Hilton Miami (aventura), Hilton marina and I chose the doubletree gallery one based on the water views, location being close to the mall and the restaurants. I wish I picked another one on my list.
Also, I did not get any cookies....the sign was up but I was not offered...and I'm also a honors members..
Mandatory valet is $50
Would I stay here again? No..
The dirty cups was a big no no for me..
Hilton.. take some time and have maintenance keep up the painting in rooms. The customers don't want to see rust while sitting in the sofa and looking up in the ceiling while relaxing:
Change out the sofa and coffee table if you're gonna have suits. Put in the same effort as the lobby into the rooms. This is where we lay our head...
Read moreI should have actually done research on this location before booking because the rating on the Hilton app is far cry from the true reflection of my experience on my recent stay.
First off, I was not tracking that there is only valet parking. Which I don't mind using, but I wish I had known for expectation management when pulling up to the property. Would have saved some confusion on trying to find parking. The cost is $48 per night, I believe.
Check-in went fine and was quick. Like with any Double Tree properties, I was offered one of those delicious warm cookies and bottled water.
Now for the room. I check in pretty late, about 9 or 10 pm. Upon getting to the room, I was a little taken back because it seemed a little small and kind of weirdly designed. I had requested a room with a balcony, which it had, but it was not the typical balcony size. The standing room with barely enough to stand on. If I had to guess, it might have been 12 inches from the sliding door to the railing. Yet another expectation that was not clearly described. The balcony wasn't the only area that was small, the kitchenette seemed to be cramed in to the opening of the room. It was functional with dorm room size refrigerator, two eyelet range, decent size sink, with plenty of counter space. The livingroom L-angle love seat that seemed outdated. Most of the room seemed outdated. On one note you can close off the bedroom from the livingroom, which I like. Referring the bed, I am guessing it is outdated as well. I've stayed at other Doubletree Hotels and couldn't believe how comfortably soft the mattress and pillow layout was. This bed was stiff and uncomfortable. The TV in the bedroom didn't work. Tried using both remote that was in the bedroom and the one from the livingroom, neither powered it on. No issues with the bathroom other then just observation of the pockets light assemblies look to be dangling from the ceiling. They look outdated and poorly installed.
My visit was for one night, and as I mentioned earlier, I check in late. Around 8 and again at 9am, I started receiving text messages about checking out through text. That's all good and we'll and appreciated the option. But when housekeeping came busting into the room at 9am to see if i was checking out and check-out is at 11am, that is where the line was crossed.
I did mention something to the front desk agent, which the manager overheard and tried to apologize for. But that was that, just blank confused stares and meaningless apology.
As mentioned, I had to valet my vehicle. Upon driving off I realized, my economy driving had been switched off. Not sure why and really hope nothing shady was done during their operation to just parking it.
To sum it my review, the location was ideal but outside of that, I doubt I will...
Read more!!!!!!PLEASE READ-BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! If I could give this hotel a ZERO star- I would. This hotel is like a pig with make up on, I do not know how they can call themselves a 4 star hotel, the rooms were run down disgusting and falling apart, I have stayed in nicer Motel 6's. I first want to start off with how incompetent and unhelpful the front desk staff is. My boyfriend planned a birthday getaway for me and called this hotel multiple times to see if we could get an early check in and the hotel staff told him to call the day before- which we did. When were arrived, we approached the front desk and I see a sign stating they would be conducting fire alarm testing starting at 9am(next day)- and they failed to mention that to us on the phone. So here we are in the lobby with the hotel cart full of our luggage and the only resolution the inept hotel staff had to offer was a full refund- while we were sitting there with all of our luggage- NO WHERE ELSE TO GO. THE AUDACITY. The staff is so unprofessional and this hotel is disgusting and an absolute rip off. I recommend staying at the local Super 8 instead of this horrendous establishment. They should truly feel ashamed and embarrassed to be operating a FOUR star hotel in this manner. So after me and my partner spoke about what we were gonna do we did decide to stay- !DUE TO THE FACT WE HAD NO WHERE ELSE TO GO. AND AFTER ASKING FOR ANY TYPE OF COMPENSATION FOR BEING MISLEAD- THE FRONT DESK MANAGER ON DUTY LOOKED US DEAD IN THE EYES AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO(WITH A SMIRK ON HIS FACE)- ABSOLUTLEY USELESS! SO WHEN WE CHECKED INTO THE ROOM IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND FALLING APART. pics attached. After we checked in we received a text from Tanya asking us how everything is going, my partner sent a text with the photos of the room and also informed her how we were completely brushed off and mentioned the lack of communication regarding the issues with the fire alarms. Tanya stated she would move our room and give us a $40 voucher, so to our surprise when we open up the final statement from this 1 STAR hotel they reversed the credit and had the audacity to charge us the credit that they GAVE US!!!! I AM WARNING EVERYONE IN THE SOUTH FLORIDA AREA TO AVOID THIS HOTEL LIKE THE PLAGUE, IF YOU WANT TO PAY 5 STAR PRICES FOR A 1 STAR EXPERIENCE THIS IS THE PLACE FOR...
