I only gave 1 star because I couldn’t give 0 stars. We (party of 4) came in on a Saturday night. There was only one other table in the restaurant, and they had already received their food. After we ordered, the 1st meal came out 30 minutes after we ordered. The 2nd & 3rd (2 of the exact same plate - shaky beef add tofu) came out at 35 and then 45 minutes. FOR THE SAME EXACT THING. The beef was unbelievably tough and the tofu was over fried… think croutons. The 4th meal (a bag of boiled shrimp) came out 55 minutes after we ordered. Everyone else at the table was already done with their meals. By the time the food came, we had asked about 4 different times where the boiled shrimp was. We were told that boiled seafood takes longer. Anyone who has ever had shrimp knows it takes 5 minutes at most to cook them. The best part: the shell would not come off and was in tact so that it kept the poop vein for the customer to enjoy. Also, the potatoes and corn that were supposed to come with it were left out. There was never an apology or anything resembling one. And the table that came in 15 minutes after we had ordered got their food before the shrimp even came out. You could get away with having bad service if the food is great but this place boasts neither good food nor good service. This place is a dumpster fire. Pure trash. Do yourself a favor and literally go anywhere else. McDonald’s would be a better choice, more fulfilling and less...
Read moreMy husband and I have recently moved here from Orlando, where we were spoiled with tons of great restaurants. We have been searching for our new favorite pho place, and today we found it! Right now we're driving away with our tummies uncomfortably full and our minds slightly delirious from the ecstasy of the food we just ate and our hands vibrating from the amazing vietnamese iced coffees. We split viet kitchen special large pho and the chili salt frog legs! The broth was rich and fragrant. The bowl of soup was huge! The frog legs were amazing and they came with this green sauce that's to die for. My husband asked the server what it's called, I won't even attempt to spell it out here..... ask for the green sauce they serve with all the seafood and frog legs! My husband says "sauces like that are the whole reason some restaurants hire a chef devoted completely to sauces!"
Pro tip! A Vietnamese coworker once taught me how to order and eat pho the 'right' way. 1. Always order the special pho. 2. Always order the rare steak on the side, so it's not tough by the tome you eat it. 3. If you don't splatter it all over you're shirt you're not...
Read moreThe new owners have created a bright, open and modern space that is comfortable for two and can easily accommodate a large party of your favorite folks. The staff are very welcoming and kind, taking care to explain each dish for you and how to assemble the side ingredients to customize each dish. The manager, Kevin, took such good care of us on a sleepy weekday afternoon, and runs the place with efficiency and grace.
Most importantly, THE FOOD IS AMAZING! They clearly love what they do here and it shows in each dish we tried. I’ve been to some of the best Vietnamese places in Los Angeles, San Francisco/East Bay, Houston, Phoenix, Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Minneapolis and New York City, and this is just as good as them. Viet Kitchen is the best in Lee County by far, and I’m looking forward to making this my go-to place for years to come!
(Ps. I wish I’d taken a picture of our dishes, but everything smelled so good we dove right in! I had the vermicelli with pork and shrimp and my friend had the vegetable pho with tofu, and each was luscious with many...
