Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Fort Oglethorpe

Worst Applebee's I've ever been in. The staff there managed to pack so many unpleasant experiences into one meal it's actually quite impressive. For starters, all I heard the staff do during the time we were waiting to be seated was bicker and complain very loudly and very openly about their co-workers. One younger Hostess in particular(wish I had caught her name because she did the biggest part of the complaining) came up to the front and said that she was "about to lose it" and kept repeating in various ways how angry she was at the other employees. There was also some sort of conflict amongst the servers there because they were all refusing to take on a big party that had been waiting for a long time. There were several open booths and tables but no one was being seated because there was apparently no silverware rolled up and no one wanted to roll afore mentioned silverware, all they wanted to do was argue and try to tell other people that they needed to do it instead of just fixing the problem. Moving on to the meal the server was unattentive and not very friendly, the food that got brought out to us was cold like it had been sitting for a while, I got ribs and when she brought out the little saucer with wet naps they were already covered in barbecue fingerprints like she had taken them from some other customers plate and reused them. That place is a Trainwreck in need of some serious retraining or replacing of staff, I doubt I'll ever go back there when there are several other better options in the area and even if I have a particular desire for Applebee's I will go out of my way to travel to the next nearest one rather than go deal with that...

My girlfriend and I each ordered steak. I got the one with blackened shrimp, and she got the 12 ounce ribeye. My sides were cheesy broccoli and homestyle mac and cheese with bacon. What I got was a little ceramic ramekin with three broccoli florets in it that you could tell had been microwaved because one of them was scalding hot and the other two were cold. The mac and cheese was a handful of unsauced pasta with half-melted shredded cheese and bacon bits. She got the same broccoli I did (but slightly more of it) and cold mashed potatoes.

The steaks were surprisingly good, although room temperature. The shrimp on top of mine were barely warm, unseasoned, and definitely not blackened. I was also supposed to have a garlic butter parmesan sauce on my steak and what I got was a cold cheese paste and an unmelted knob of butter on top of my steak. The only reason we paid and left without saying anything was because I didn't want to embarrass my girlfriend by making a scene. The drinks were also $10 each and mostly ice so they were watered down and flavorless before they even got to us. On top of that, every server I overheard at the tables around me was rushing the customers. Constantly asking if they were ready to order appetizers, entrees, desserts, do you want a box? are you ready for the bill? It's not like it was closing time, we were there at 7:30. Our own server was short with us, looked annoyed when we asked questions, and kept trying to upsell us shit we didn't want. And to top it all off, our total for two drinks, an appetizer, two drinks, and a dessert was A HUNDRED AND...

See second nightmare experience tonight 15 oct 2025 below. Previously, 3 months ago: "last night was worse experience we've ever had out to eat!! Waited 20 minutes to be seated, not bad, but waited 45 minutes for appetizers....but they forgot the salads!!!! Waiter checked in with us an hour and a half after we sat down and said we are running behind....and he didn't know why??? We waited anothrr 30 minutes but our meal never came!!! Are you kidding me??? We ask for check and he didn't even offer to comp the overpriced appetizers... $38 for 2 appetizers and one beer for not getting the meal we ordered after 2 hour wait???? Very very overpriced appetizers too. Management here at Fort O restaurant has very serious issues, or poor quality servers. Warn all your friends, I did. Sad sad... **Ok, we came back to try them again 3 months later, 15 oct 2025...same thing happened, 1 1/2 wait for 2 salads, 1hr 50 minutes for apptizers...and server was kind to tell us they were still way behind, and recommended we not even wait for entree!!! What are the odds of the same to people going to applebees 3 months apart and not getting our meals in 2 1/2 hrs wait. We were advised there were no experienced cooks on shift on a thurs night???? 2 inexperienced cooks trying figure this restaurant cook job out with no guidance. Fire the manager tonight please. Such a disgusting experience for my wife and I. Never again! Run from this place!!!!! And embarrassment to the franchise. Calling Regional manager tomorrow to get this store...
