My wife and I stopped in on a hot Sunday afternoon to cool off and grab something cold. The Frosties we ordered were filled properly and tasted fine, and the interior had working AC, which was a relief given the heat outside. That’s about where the positives ended.
When we walked in, we stood at the counter for several minutes without so much as a greeting or acknowledgment from anyone working. I understand fast food gets busy, and I wasn’t in a rush, but standing there in silence with staff walking by without a word was uncomfortable. I wouldn’t have even brought it up if it wasn’t part of a much bigger issue.
The entire front of house was in bad shape. Every trash can, inside and out, was completely overflowing. The drink machine had no ice, several soda options were out, and almost nothing at the station was stocked aside from a small number of straws. It didn’t feel like anyone had checked on it in hours.
The bathroom smelled strongly of marijuana, and there was residue left on the sink. I didn’t get a picture of that, so I’m not focusing on it too heavily, but the smell was hard to ignore.
When I brought all of this to the attention of the manager, the first thing I was told was that she had "just got there." That might be true, but in nearly every case, a manager should walk into their shift with a full handover from the previous one—especially when the store is in this condition. That kind of explanation just felt like another excuse instead of someone taking responsibility or making an effort to fix anything.
I wasn’t being rude or confrontational. I simply pointed out the issues, and what I got in return felt like a wall of canned responses and shrugs. The whole atmosphere came off like nobody cared and everyone was just waiting out their shift.
It could’ve been an average visit and I wouldn’t have thought twice about it, but the level of neglect and the dismissive attitude made it something worth speaking up about. I was only there about 30 minutes. only two other customers came in and they left pretty quickly after they were done. so I'm not sure exactly what everybody was doing but definitely not anything they needed to be doing. in case it's relevant we were there at 4:30 p.m Sunday...
Read moreOn Saturday 23rd, at around 715pm ET, I pulled up to the drive-thru speaker. No one answered, so after a minute I drove back a few feet and pulled up again. Still nothing, so after another minute or so I went ahead and pulled up to the window.
I should mention that when I went through that same drive-thru two days earlier the speaker was out and they were taking orders directly at the window. So when I couldn’t raise anybody, it was very natural for me to assume “oh, the speaker’s still out”.
So I pull up to the window, and the kid looks at my sideways and says “what was your order”? I tell him there’s a problem with the speaker so I just pulled forward. He looks at me sideways again, laughs and says: “Nawww.” He then orders me to drive around again because what I just said hadn’t happened.
It took me a moment to realize he was calling me a liar. Apparently, he thought that I had pulled into the parking lot, seen the one other guy waiting in line, and decided to cut him off by pulling straight up to the window and tricking them into serving me first. (Looking back on it it’s kind of ridiculous, but it took me by surprise to have someone question my honesty out of the blue, so I won’t lie, I was annoyed.)
I doubled down, going through the whole sequence of events for him. When he laughed at me again, I suggest that he check with the people behind me - whom he was talking to - since I knew they had pulled in right after I did. Instead, he ends up calling his manager over, and then SHE calls me a liar, saying “I was listening in on the headphones, I heard the whole thing.”
I tried to talk sense to her, but at this point those people were convinced that I’m some kind of criminal mastermind working some diabolical plan to get his food 3 minutes early. Anyway, when they refused to serve me, I drove down the street to Chick-Fil-A, where no one attacked...
Read moreI hadn't eaten all day so at 7:30 I decided to go to Wendy's because it's fairly close. It wasn't really what I wanted but I got a Dave's double combo with a frosty instead of the Coke. That was one of the best burgers I've ever had from a fast food joint! I've had issues with this place in the past like getting a bowl of warm spicy water with a couple beans in it and they called it chili. Overall it's usually not too bad here but I don't eat fast food that much. I did enjoy it tonight so there it is.
Okay so I went back there last night because I simply was just too tired to worry about cooking dinner and even though I was only the third car in line and the first one was already at the window It took well over 20 minutes before I got my very simple order of a Dave's single and fries. I mean I don't mind waiting a little bit but hell I could have butchered my own cap and cook the damn thing and that amount of time I'm getting of course but that's ridiculous to wait that long for a freaking fast food burger. Neither car ahead of me had very much in their order as was obvious when they each got one small bag and a soda. It still tasted good but honestly sitting there idling my Hemi for 20 minutes left a bad taste in my mouth when there's nobody inside that can be seen except the people working there and only three cars in the line with me being the...
