Fokker's Pub — Restaurant in Fort Walton Beach

We went here on the recommendation of one of my husband's coworkers, figured we'd give it a try. Considering it's supposed to be great German food, and my husband is German. My husband decided we should try it for my mother's day dinner so I agreed because I love good German food also. First off our visit started it's downward spiral as soon as we entered we waited to be recognized that we were there, then when finally someone approached us they were extremely rude and abrupt with us, as if communicating with us was some how an annoyance. So we just seated ourselves. Second, we waited some more for any waitress to come by and acknowledge that we were sitting there, because a few waitresses walked by us several times. Finally one decided to ask if we'd like something to drink that was like 15 minutes later after we sat ourselves. Drinks ordered, waited and waited. Finally drinks.. then waited again to have our appetizers order taken, appetizers finally ordered, and of course I put in our entree orders which were the fokkers schnitzel dinner(full), and the country fried steak dinner(full) with the appetizers because apparently it's a huge inconvenience and a long wait time for even a draft beer. So my husband and I waited again like 20 minutes, appetizers arrived which were jalepeno poppers and mozzarella sticks, the mozzarella sticks were cooked to long they came to us exploded, the jalapeno poppers were way over cooked burnt even, how is that possible when they go into the fryer it's not rocket science. Then of course we receive our entrees right on top of our appetizers, how does that work, our food must've already been premade to come out that quick. My husband's schnitzel was inedible it was paper thin and rock hard, and cold. His sides were disgusting the potato salad if you could call it that was beyond gross, and my chicken fried steak was cold and bland and had disgusting bland white gravy which would never be considered country gravy all over everything, and my mashed potatoes were hideously inedible.Seasoning just be a big no no in this establishment because it had none. To charge people money that are expecting genuine great German food these outrageous prices, is inconceivable. If your going to call yourselves a German restaurant, I think that the so called cooks should be trained and retrained how to actually cook German food. Stick with the over priced appetizers, and bar food that can be washed down with the flat, room temperature draft beer. That's what kind of restaurant this actually is a dingy,dank, disgustingly rude, overpriced, pizza and beer bar. NEVER WILL MY HUSBAND OR WILL I EVER COME TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN!!!!! I'm so disappointed wanted to enjoy some really good German food, this was not even close to good German food. What a waste of a mother's day and waste of money. I'll make sure to tell everyone I know not to eat or spend money at this disgusting, dirty bar. This establishment is only for those who have no idea what real food actually tastes like, they only enjoy the overpriced frozen bar food. DIGUSTINGLY DISAPPOINTED. Visiting from Saint Petersburg, my friends in Sant Rosa Beach were looking for someplace to eat and have a few drinks. I saw an advertisement for Fokkers Pub, home of the mother Fokker, lol! I thought that with this play on words, I'd check it out online. The menu sounded really good, and I hoped to get a T-shirt. So we set off on a 45 drive with good expectations. First off, the address on Google is incorrect, and we passed it. I hit the directions button, and we made it there finally. Walked in, and we were greeted by a busy server who told us to sit anywhere. Wanted to sit at the bar, but it was full of regulars. No biggie, say at a table. 5 minutes later, the server came and presented menus. 21 minutes later, a new server, Ashley, came over and took our drink order. She took our food order as well and came back with water. After another 7 minutes, we watched our beer sit at the server station, We had been there for over half an hour and just got our 1st beer. Our server brought our food shortly after this. 2 of us ordered the beef on weck. It did not come with au jus, so we asked for some. She promptly brought it, and with only half our beers gone, we decided we better order another one with how long it took previously. We were almost done with our meal, and Ashley came over and apologized for the delay stating the bartender was getting our beer next. The bartender was not even anywhere to be seen, and when she got back, she was visiting with the locals. It had now been an hour, and we were done eating and did not have our 2nd beer. Although drinks were flowing at the bar for everyone sitting in front of the bartender. We told our server we just wanted the bill and skipped the beers. Received the bill and saw we had an upcharge for 3 -3oz souffle cups of au jus at $2.00 each. So, a $17.99 beef on weck was now 19.99. Reviewing the menu, their French dip was $16.99 and came with Au Jus. Very disappointed and they didn't have t-shirts to buy. I guess all the reviews are regulars and get great treatment. I'm not faulting Ashley she did a great job and was attentive. But I hope she doesn't have to tip share with that angry, inefficient bartender because she doesn't deserve a dime. Just try to place a pick up order for one pizza. And the lady first said 35 minutes then told me 45 minutes. I said that was fine that I can wait that we're not even in town yet. Then another girl gets on the phone and says they just had a party of about 75 and it looks like my orders just not going to happen in those words. If the owner can see these reviews please fix this ,This world's got enough lazy people.,

Update! Not trying to be a keyboard Warrior or anything and I understand you are backing up You're employees, but the communication last night was completely unprofessional. And I've been to your restaurant before and I've met you and shook your hand before Even back when you were located behind Kcs. I am a local and not a tourist. And I do understand you guys were busy. There was no rush on this once So ever. There was definitely a better way of handling this. But I'm fine now, so have a nice day.

Update again, After reading some of the other reviews And how you reply back to people you do deserve this one star rating. And no I will not be coming back. And apparently you're not the owner I met so many years back. That explains a lot. Initially I changed the one star to a 3 star. Because I figured surely you don't deserve a one star for your employees service, but yes, you absolutely do. And I can give a d* if you stay in business or not. I'm not trying to put you out of business. I was just trying to let you know my experience with This place. Anyways, great job, keep it up. You're doing awesome.
