If I lived in Ft. Walton, this would be my go to place. Service was amazing by my 3 year old "host", super cute little boy. The most wonderful waitress, Angela, and the owners were awesome. Oh, yeah. The food was fire! Homemade everything or at least it seemed like it. Today's special was meatloaf and they made it like my momma used to make. Lots of chunky seasonings, onion, bell pepper, etc. Plus, it had tomato paste on top, just like home. We also had the catfish. It was really good but caution, the pieces are small. There are 4 options for catfish plate, small, regular, medium, and large. The pieces are on the small side, so I would recommend the medium. The small is like a kids plate, 1 piece for, I believe, $9.99, the regular is two pieces for $10.99, medium, 3 pieces is $12.99, and large, 4 pieces is $14.99. Two side come with all choices. They are all good, just depends on your appetite .
And then, the pies. There had to be 10 pies to choose from. Peanut butter and chocolate pie, coconut, keylime, apple, blueberry, cheese cake, pecan and may more. I wanted one of each but my wife wouldn't let me.
This place is home goodness that I will definitely come again and I recommend you do, too. This was my first time coming. Highly...
Read moreMy man and I smelled fried chicken from the backyard and decided to go around the block to tryout this restaurant. SOOO GLAD WE DID!!!!
First, Very clean and cute establishment. The owner Lisa and server Hannah (mom & daughter) were so friendly and patient with us. I explained how I smelled the chicken around the corner and they told me I picked a great day, because Tuesdays is fried chicken day. Also, they get FRESH produce everyday, so today was also lima beans day... you get a meat, 2 sides, corn bread or roll and a drink for about $10 and change! MIND BLOWING!!! My fiance got fried pork chops... also amazing. Our sides were mashed potatoes & gravy, turnips, lima beans and rice & gravy. Everything was fresh... nothing taste frozen, canned or instant! Everything we ordered was hot and delicious! So, I noticed they have whole catfish... we came back the next day for dinner Again! Lisa and Hannah probably thought we were lying about coming back the next day. We did have plans to eat at a seafood restaurant, but the food & service at Mary's Kitchen won us over... and again, they knocked it out the park! TRY THIS PLACE OUT... SOME OF THE BEST SOUTHERN FOOD AROUND!!! Also, the BEST server... Hannah, she is an...
Read moreAround 6pm, 3/30/21 - Hadn't been to Mary's Kitchen in a few years so I decided to go on my dinner break from work; 1 hour break. I ordered catfish, fried pickles, mash potatoes, and rice & gravy. The female server had short blonde hair with a red Mary's Kitchen T-shirt. At 6:40pm I still had not received my order and had no time to eat the meal I ordered. The server could have cared less to inform me that my order was going to be delayed as I noticed her serving other guests and conducting simple duties from the time I ordered to never receiving my order. She had no sense of urgency checking the status of my order. At 6:40pm I instructed her to cancel my order and charge me for the sweet tea I had ordered. She stated it was on her. Thanks for the tea and not the meal as I attempted to dine inside wasting my dinner break with no dinner. There won't be a next time as I won't be back but for the future Guests perhaps this Server could in the future show a bit of urgency with taking and delivering orders. A guest shouldn't have to wait 35-40 min to eat and if the meal can't be delivered in a timely manner the appropriate customer service approach is to...
