Earlier today, I was in the drive thru line waiting on my turn at the service window, and in the 5 minutes I saw no less than 4 employees walking around BOH/bringing orders to the window who were either wearing their masks under their nose, or had them pulled completely under their chin. These employees were also frequently touching their faces, and I'm almost certain I saw the girl running the DT register cough into her hand (her mask was below her nose) and then use that same hand to pick up a drink and hand it to the customer in front of me. I canceled my order and spoke to the manager, Eric, who just smiled and nodded. Eric and one other female employee were the only people working in that restaurant (roughly 12:30 PM on Sunday 10/11) who were wearing their masks properly.
I left the 820 Chicken Express and went to the location on 377 in Benbrook, which is a bit out of my way, but always appears better managed and cleaner anyway, and guess what, all 6 employees I saw were wearing masks properly, covering both mouth AND nose.
The 820 store and its employees are literally treating a life and death matter like a minor inconvenience that doesn't matter enough to even bother following regulations that our state and local governments have mandated. What am I supposed to think about their attitudes towards basic food safety regulations? Do they even wash their hands after going to the restroom, much less pay attention to food temperatures or FIFO? Absolutely shameful.
On an unrelated note, the employee "put your phones in cell jail when you clock in" warning sign posted to the outside of the door directly next to the drive thru window for absolutely every customer waiting in line can see is just embarrassing. Please, try to make it a little MORE obvious that your management team has absolutely no control over the shift workers that apparently give zero f*cks about their jobs or customers, and least of all about their bosses. Again, absolutely shameful.
This franchisee should be so...
Read moreWhen we're in the mood for fried chicken or chicken tenders, I ALWAYS visit the Chicken Express on Southwest Loop 820 at Hulen Mall. Once again we were extremely pleased with not only the quality of the food, but more importantly the customer service. Robert has been at this location I believe for 18 to 20 years. He runs an amazing restaurant and makes certain everything is perfect with my order. He does an incredible job keeping the restaurant clean, minimizing the wait time and continues to turn out the highest quality chicken and sides from any Chicken E I have visited. Although there is actually another Chicken E location that is closer to my home, I always opt for driving a bit further to visit this location because Robert always ensures me of a great experience and the highest quality food. Whomever is the franchisee for this location is extremely fortunate to have Robert running this store. Thanks again, Robert! Great job...
Read moreThey forgot the fries and I called to let them know and they said they would replace them but I couldn’t come til the next day. After calling I noticed there were only 16 of the 20 piece chicken I ordered. The next I called to let them know I was in the way and to let them know we only got 16 pieces of chicken and the GM refused to replace the chicken cause I didn’t call about the night before. Not to mention this store prices are almost $10 high then the one right down the street.
Update: my husband called and talked to the GM and she still wouldn’t give us the food we paid for so my husband had to call another store to get the area managers number and she called the GM to have them give us the food. So we did get the fries and chicken that was missing but the GM should have just given us the food and apologized. I’m not trying to cause all the trouble but I paid for the food and that’s what I should...
