My husband and I picked this place as it is new and the pictures of the food looked great. I made my reservation through OpenTable and was provided a reservation for two outside. We were shocked to arrive to partially covered seating outside in the 100 degree Texas heat. We had an event immediately after our dinner and we arrived very sweaty. Not our desire at all. the longer we sat the hotter and more uncomfortable we became as we were sat to the side with no direct air flow. We had originally been sat and a cheeky green table next to the window but it rocked back and forth and we were right up next to the glass with patrons immediately on the other side of the glass. We asked to be moved.
Marci , our waitress was great! She told us first thing that the 7 ounce steak was not available. I thought it odd to start with something you don't have. If you don't tell us we won't know. I feel there might be better wording. This evening we have replaced would have been a great way to say something is not available. It just seemed weird to start the interaction this way. She had other specials but when I heard the word venison I stopped listening. Just not our thing.
We order the Shaved Brussel sprouts salad which had dried cherries, pumpkin seed, Gorgonzola, Prosciutto and a Champagne vinaigrette salad dressing. The top of the salad was good but the bottom was not dressed at all. It became very dry and hard to eat. We only ate half.
My husband got a coconut rum and coke and I got a glass of Prosecco and a glass of Chenin Blanc. We have no complaints on the taste of the alcohol. It was good for about 5 minutes until the Texas heat took over and my husbands drink became watery and my wine turned warm.
Now here is the exact reason I will never grace the doors of this establishment again. We ordered the Ribeye steak medium. We watched a kitchen staff member leave, start a cigarette, walk across the parking lot to a different building and then return carrying a steak and several other proteins shrink wrapped in his hand and then re-enter the building. We looked at each other and laughed saying there goes our steak.
Well it was our steak with the smallest portion of veg on the side I have ever seen. But that is not the worst part. The steak was marked on the menu as market. When our bill came we had been charged $75.00!! I checked Capital Grille ($55) and Ruth Chris ($59) and I am not sure what market they are purchasing from but wow! The steak did not taste, look, or feel textually like a $75 dollar steak should in our opinion.
So my tips are ask for indoor seating if you make a reservation and ask about prices. If you are okay with a $75 dollar steak in 100 degree weather then this is the...

Arrived early to have drinks in the Amber room, let the hostess know we were ready if the table was ready ealier. She advised that was unlikey, fair enough, as that wasn't our time.
Waited till our 7:30 res and checked back, was told a few mins., checked back 7:45, told a few mins, 8:00 same, 8:15 same. Was offered the patio at least five times after letting them know on the second patio suggestion that there was a medical condition in our party that precluded sitting on the patio in 45 degrees. At 8:30, we gave up.
We were never offered drinks, apps. etc during this wait. When at 8:30 we said we had to go and a member of the party was clearly upset, the blithe response was "well, we are a boutique restaurant with only 50 seats." The answer they received was, well "then book your reservations according to your space."
They were clearly way overbooked, and I felt bad for the poor hostess who was getting yelled at by a lot of people, so I was sure to be nice to her. However, I made this reservation a full MONTH in advance, had people who had flown in from out of town, paid a babysitter, etc., I even pushed back an out of town trip by a day to make this dinner. THAT'S how much I wanted to eat there, so this was a super disappointment.
The food did look and smell delicious, and I know they are new. Maybe they will get the reservation kinks worked out? Dunno. But I do know not to rely on your patio seating for reservations in February (for walk ins, sure).
If this were just the Amber room, I'd give it four stars. The line was a little long to get a drink, but the cocktails were good and we...
Read moreWent for brunch with two close friends. I ordered chilaquiles with bacon and an extra egg, over hard. The waitress brings our food, but my eggs are runny, so I send it back. It comes out again ten minutes later, this time with the eggs cooked properly, but with chorizo instead of bacon. Now my friends are 2/3 done eating. The waitress says she’ll send it back again, but I ask her to cancel my order since my friends will be done before I receive my food. The waitress asks if there’s anything she can do, so I asked for some chips and salsa since it would come out quickly and I could at least eat something after having two mimosas and nothing else in my stomach. The salsa tasted more like marinara sauce, but the chips were awesome.
When the bill comes, I’m told not to worry, and that they weren’t going to charge me for the chilaquiles (good, because I never got to eat any!!!). But the bill still has the extra egg on it, AND they charged me $6 for chips and salsa after failing to deliver my order correctly TWICE. So I send the ticket back to be corrected (much like my food, lol), and it comes back with the egg removed, but still with the charge for the chips and marinara salsa. When the waitress asked if my ticket looked right, I told her that I was taken aback by being charged for chips and salsa that was served halfway through my friends’ meal after what happened with my order and considering how upscale the restaurant is, especially since they are complimentary at most restaurants.
In retrospect, I should have asked to speak with the manager, but it should also be noted that was never offered to me, either. In most restaurants of this caliber, the manager would have visited the table the first time the order was wrong.
For what it’s worth, my friends said the food was...
